July 2006 Celestial Timings
"Sirius, Isis, Queen of the Night,
Rising in our hearts,
our guiding light,
the Dawn of our new birth is upon us,
the garment wherein you clothed us is enduring...
The Garden of this Earth
we shall once again make manifest
and the mission we began,
so very long ago,
shall be complete."

July marks the annual conjunction of the Sun with the fixed star Sirius which was purposely timed with the signing of the United States of America Declaration of Independence. Since 1776 the timing for the exact conjunction has shifted from July 4 to July 6.
Sirius is our brightest fixed star in the sky and was extremely important to the ancient Egyptians. Partly because it was the heliacal rise of Sirius that determined when the Nile River would begin her annual flooding. G.R.S. Mead author of Thrice Greatest Hermes says "In the astronomical science of the Egyptians, the most conspicuous solar system near our own, represented in the heavens by the brilliant Sirius, was of supreme interest. Cycles of immense importance were determined by it, and it entered into the highest mysticism of Egyptian initiation."
The Sirius influence is heightened this month and next. So, this is worth noting especially as we continue with this powerfully transformative 19 year Lunar Standstill, during this time of the 248 year Pluto cycle being poised at Galactic Center along with the Solstices being located along the Galactic Plane. That means that we are in a window of time within the 26,000-year precessional cycle of the Solstices and Equinoxes when the December Solstice is closest to the Galactic Center and the June Solstice is closest to the Galactic Edge. The coming together of these three events is so BIG it is nearly impossible to convey in words the magnitude of what is unfolding. This is truly meant to be experienced rather than explained. What follows are some inspiring ideas for finding your own direct experience of these magically spectacular unfolding celestial events.
We begin with Egyptian wisdom as describe in the "Maxims of Ptahotep" urging us to."’Follow the Heart for as long as you live’, for it is this organ that retains the greatest sensitivity to the harmonizing, archetypal forces of Sirius, it becomes our "listening place", for the Sirian/Isian message of Eternal Love, Knowledge, and Understanding.

Activities and choices that assist us in following and acting from our heart knowing with gratitude and compassion are greatly assisted when we are practicing daily self-care and self-nurturing. This does not mean self-indulgence but rather the kind of care and nurturing that supports us in living vital, healthy, joyful, loving, playful, fun and magical lives. Here are a few suggestions on self-care practices intended to inspire your own knowing about what works for you.
Many times a day take a few minutes to focus your attention on your physical heart, feeling gratitude and appreciation for your life:
- Create a simple daily gratitude ceremony for all the gifts of love, beauty, and abundance already present and growing in your life experience. I have found it is helpful to make a gratitude list that you can add to as you discover more and more to be grateful for… (See July 12)
- Set an Intent for radiant Health and Well-Being
- Take time to rest, relax, regenerate, renew
- Drink lots of pure living Water
- Eat nutritious healthy delicious food
- Exercise (any kind that works for you i.e. yoga, walking, running, dancing, hiking, etc.)
- Meditate, Imagine, Dream, Visualize, Pray
- Treat yourself to Bodywork – massage, acupuncture, raindrop therapy, Rolfing, chiropractic, energy work etc.
- Take time to do emotional release work to shift old patterns and beliefs – through counseling, breathwork, or other therapies that support releasing stuck feelings.
- Spend Time in Nature
- Spend Time with Friends
- Take a relaxing fun vacation
- Go see an inspiring Movie
- Journal—Keep track of your dreams
- Pray and give thanks for your life
- Take a relaxing hot bath, Jacuzzi, hot springs etc…
- Read a book
- Forgiveness and taking personal responsibility for your life experience releasing guilt/blame of self and others
- Have compassion for yourself and others
- Take time to feel what you feel noticing when you are avoiding your feelings…such as eating comfort food, watching television, obsessive exercise or meditation, work-a-holic practices or any activities that distract you from feeling pain, guilt, discomfort, anxiousness, fear, etc.
- Ask yourself how you can best nurture yourself and be open to the answers.
Planets Visible in the Morning Sky.
Venus (Jan 20th – Sept 19th)
Mercury disappears from the evening sky July 11 in its retrograde to travel with the Sun to reappear in the morning sky July 26. Mercury is retrograde from July 4 to July 28. If you are not doing regular computer back ups, now is a good time to make sure that is current.
Planets Visible in the Evening Sky.
Mercury, Mars and Jupiter are visible in the evening sky, although Mars may be the most difficult to see. Saturn disappears from the evening sky July 20 and travels with the Sun until August 26 when it reappears in the morning sky.
- Mercury (May 26th – July 11th)
- Mars (January 1st – Sept 7th)
- Jupiter (May 4th – Nov 9th)
- Saturn (Jan 27th – July 20th)
Note: It helps to remember that all the aspects and timings mentioned here include a minimum of a three-day window…the day before, the day of and the day after. Some aspects will be felt longer and will recur over weeks or months but the three-day window always applies especially with faster moving aspects (planets). Also the days and times given for aspects are Pacific Daylight Time except where noted.

July 1, Saturday. July begins with the waxing Moon in Virgo visible in the evening sky and Venus conjunct the fixed star Aldebaran inside the Sacred Hoop visible in the morning sky. Aldebaran is one of the four royal stars or "Guardians of Heaven" The Fixed Star Site and is also a galactic doorway or portal located near the Galactic Edge. The supportive energies of Aldebaran are accessed when we approach its mysteries with integrity, honor and purity of intent. According to Starlight Elixirs and Cosmic Vibrational Healing by Michael Smulkis and Fred Rubenfeld http://hilarion.com/stars.html Aldebaran is linked with the original genetic coding that allowed for the experience of free will here on planet Earth. As we learn to align our personal will with divine will we are energizing more and more magical experiences that easily and naturally help us fulfill our divine destiny.
Week of Jul 2 - 9, The Libra First Quarter Moon window begins July 2, is exact on Jul 3 and completes on July 4. This Moon phase represents the balance between light and dark, and is the most visible and rapid growth phase of the Moon, crossing the threshold that accelerates whatever process is already in motion. The Moon continues to increase in light until the Capricorn Full Moon on July 10.
In her book A Return To Love Marianne Williamson reminds us how each relationship or each encounter with another is a holy experience. She says…When you meet anyone, remember it is a holy encounter. As you see him (or her), you will see yourself. AS you think of him (or her) you will think of yourself. Never forget this, for in him (or her) you will find yourself or lose yourself.
The next few days are ideally timed to notice if we are losing ourselves in our current relationships or if we are finding we are discovering more of who we truly are through them.
July 2, Sunday. Venus (10 Gemini) still conjunct Aldebaran is also sextiling Saturn (10 Leo) and the Moon is moving into Libra. These aspects speak to the importance of structuring new forms of conscious equal partnership based in love for ourselves and the other.
A Return to Love says; In every relationship, in every moment, we teach either love or fear. To teach is to demonstrate. As we demonstrate love toward others, we learn that we are lovable and we learn how to love more deeply. As we demonstrate fear or negativity, we learn self-condemnation and we learn to feel more frightened of life. We will always learn what we have chosen to teach.
July 3, Monday. Today marks the Libra First quarter Moon (12 Libra) featuring decisive action that furthers our relationship with ourselves and others. A primary basic step toward healthy relationships comes through the practice of forgiveness. Once we have forgiven ourselves we can then truly begin to forgive others and build healthy relationships based in acceptance and love rather than judgment and fear.
Once again A Return to Love has this to say: "Forgiveness is the key to inner peace because it is the mental technique by which our thoughts are transformed from fear to love. Our perceptions of other people often become a battleground between the ego’s desire to judge and the Holy Spirit’s desire to accept people as they are. The ego is the great faultfinder. It seeks out the faults in ourselves and others. The Holy Spirit seeks out our innocence…The places in our personality where we tend to deviate from love are not our faults, but our wounds. God doesn’t want to punish us, but to heal us…
"…The miracle worker consciously invites the Holy Spirit to enter into every relationship and deliver us from the temptation to judge and find fault."
Therefore, if we are finding fault in ourselves or others now is an excellent time to look at what this is reflecting to us in our relationship to ourselves. True healthy loving relationships occur when we are truly loving and accepting ourselves. Then our relationships automatically shift in surprising ways to reflect this inner reality.
July 4, Tuesday. Happy Independence Birthday for the United States as the Sun approaches the fixed star Sirius (See Intro and July 5). Also today the Moon enters Scorpio moving to conjunct Jupiter and Zuben Algenubi while also trining the Sun Sirius alignment. WOW!!!
Many will be involved in Independence Day celebrations that can act to expand and magnify the energies of the planetary/star alignments over the next few days. First, the Scorpio mysteries are linked with death, rebirth and regeneration requiring willingness to surrender attachments to beliefs, ideals, perceptions and outcomes marking another opportunity for a birth into a whole new way of being. The book Starlight Elixers and Cosmic Vibrational Healing by Michael Smulkis and Fred Rubenfeld indicate that Zubenelgenubi is designed to assist individuals in finding peace in their relationships by balancing the forces of aggression and control that cause disruption. This supports finding inner harmony and independence. This star is also useful in strengthening one’s relationship with their spirit guides and their twin flame usually located in other dimensions of reality. This star also helps with coming to a place of deep acceptance of one’s self through self-nurturing and self-love and brings forth new concepts and ideas for relating to self and others. This of course fits with the themes of the last few months of deeply loving and accepting who we are through practicing self-care and self-forgiveness as well as forgiveness of others.
Mercury stations retrograde this afternoon at 01Leo21 and goes direct July 28 at 21 Cancer further supporting the surrender of attachments to beliefs and outcomes based on our beliefs. The retrograde station is one of two exact Still Points in any planetary cycle and since Mercury is usually the fastest moving planet, the Mercury Still Point is often more dramatically felt. Mercury is linked with Thoth/Hermes Trismegistus, the progenitor of the Emerald Tablets and Keeper of the Hall of Records. The Still Point or station point of Mercury provides unusual access to the Hall of Records within our own being, especially when we are cultivating awareness through intention and attention to these mysteries.
This next three week period is a great timing for engaging right-brained creative activities, doing inner healing processes, completing projects already in motion, and making allowances for challenges in communication requiring more rational and linear skills, checking to make sure what you say and what you hear are what is actually being communicated.
July 5, Wednesday. Mars (19 Leo) is opposite retrograde Neptune (19 Aquarius) actively bringing our awareness to the field of all possibilities where we create our reality through our imagination. What we think say and do is continually creating our reality. Neptune is a visionary energy that has the ability to dream new possibilities into reality while Mars is ready to act upon those dreams and commit to manifesting them.
Venus (14 Gemini) is square Uranus (14 Pisces) providing opportunities for unexpected breakthroughs especially in the area of innovative creativity. It helps to roll with the flow and embrace changes that are designed to support greater freedom of being.
Also today the Sun moves into one degree zodiacal alignment with the brightest fixed star in our sky and the guardian star of the Egyptians known as Sirius. This star is known for qualities of freedom and liberation from all that hinders evolution and the signature star of the United States Declaration of Independence. (Tomorrow July 6 the alignment is exact and is in range through July 7)

The Sun acts as a doorway illuminating the multi-dimensional Sirian star gate with this energy beaming more directly to the planet over the next couple of months as we enter the “dog days” of summer.
"Dog days" is the name for the sultriest period of summer, from about July 3 to Aug. 11. Named in early times by observers in countries bordering the Mediterranean, the period was reckoned as extending from 20 days before to 20 days after the conjunction of Sirius (the dog star) and the Sun. In the latitude of the Mediterranean region this period coincided with hot days that were plagued with disease and discomfort. The time of conjunction varies with difference in latitude, and because of the precession of the equinoxes it changes gradually over long periods in all latitudes. CBS.COM Reference
—http://www.infoplease.com/spot/dogdays.html
Sirius was supremely important to the Egyptians as its relationship to the Sun signaled the annual rise of the Nile. "Contrary to other rivers, [the Nile] begins its annual swelling in the hottest time of the year, at the beginning of the Dog Days, that is, at the moment when Sirius rises at the same time as the Sun, a date which during the third millennium BC coincided with the summer solstice." - Lucy Lamie, Egyptian Mysteries
These next few weeks then are amping up our direct experience of the Sirian energies especially when we are setting our intention and attention on this powerful stargate.
July 6, Thursday. Jupiter is stationing direct (8 Scorpio) at the Still Point of the Jupiter cycle, where there maybe a pronounced feelings of disorientation and chaos, as the reorientation to forward movement begins. Jupiter stationed retrograde on March 04, 2006 retracing its steps back through the gateway of the Scales to deepen its knowledge and relationship with these stars most especially Zubenelgenubi the star Jupiter has been closest to during this retrograde. (See July 4)
Sun (14 Cancer 36) now exactly zodiacally conjunct the fixed star Sirius is trine Uranus (14 Pisces 36) further energizing the powerful alignments of the past few days. This is also a reminder that Uranus is still well within in its own Still Point having just stationed retrograde on June 19 at 14 Pisces 44 barely moving only 12 minutes in the past two and half weeks. The shift in direction of a planet’s motion from the Earth’s perspective creates a pause or Still Point indicating the center balanced point of power where there is no movement but everything is possible and everything exists before it begins to differentiate or move into form. It may be helpful to take time to be still and listen to your inner voice for guidance in how to best self-nurture while being open to rolling with the flow of the radical changes already in motion.
July 7, Friday. The waxing Moon moves into Sagittarius energizing the mysteries of the quest for expanding Self-experience in part through ever expanding contexts of truth and meaning. The Moon is visible near Antares tonight activating the power of this star to assist us in the choices we are making. If we are asking for guidance from our hearts, and not from what we think we should or should not be doing, while releasing attachments to outcome then our choices will align with out true heart’s desire and the fulfillment of our destiny. Loving acceptance of what IS smoothes the way.
July 8, Saturday. The three-day Lunar Standstill window begins today as the Moon travels through mid to late degrees of Sagittarius. This three-day window begins today exact tomorrow and will still be active during the Capricorn Full Moon on July 10. This means the Moon is rising and setting beyond the bounds of the maximum southern extreme of the winter Solstice Sun (in the Northern Hemisphere…in the Southern Hemisphere the Moon is furthest North now).
When the Moon is beyond the bounds of the Sun’s path along the horizon, something that happens for a three-year period every 19 years, we have an opportunity to move beyond the bounds of our current personal and social structure. The center point of this cycle last occurred in 1987 the year of the Harmonic Convergence. Synchronistically the Harmonic Convergence was a time that called people from all over the world to gather at sacred sites in ceremonial celebration marking the shifting quantum field or time matrix symbolized by many factors including the “out of bounds Moon” and the galactic alignment. In times long past it was the 19 year Lunar Standstill or “out of bounds Moon” when many ancient tribes gathered in the sacred sites to mark the passage of what had been within the old boundaries of time and to embrace the changes or the new time codes beaming in from the Galactic Plane as the Moon crossed over the Galactic Center and the Galactic Edge each month for three years. Amplifying this experience now is the alignment of the Solstices along the galactic plane.
We might ask ourselves how are we being called to participate with this Lunar Standstill 19 years after the last Lunar Standstill at the Harmonic Convergence? What new codes of information are being transmitted to the planet in these bi-monthly windows again creating shifts in awareness and experience of our quantum field of experience? How are movies like What the Bleep Do We Know?, An Inconvenient Truth, The Peaceful Warrior, The Celestine Prophecy, One, and The Da Vinci Code among many others assisting in this massive consciousness shift? (For more info refer to the June 2006 Celestial Timings)
July 9, Sunday. Today marks the monthly conjunction of the Moon with Pluto in the “out of bounds Moon” setting. This is further illuminating any repressed shadow sides of our personal and collective truth. This includes the truth that wounds, the truth that accuses, the truth that condemns, the truth that limits a person’s experience through guilt, shame or judgment especially through strict religious or cultural truth or any truth based in fear especially when it is used to gain control of others.
Is your truth based in fear or love? Fear-based truth operates through rigid rules and standards designed to control outcomes often carrying harsh punishments and judgments if these rules are transgressed. Love-based truth expresses through compassionate acceptance and is not invested in specific outcomes but rather allows and accepts what IS knowing the only way reality truly changes is through changing personal perception and beliefs. Self-love and acceptance are important keys to living truth based in love.
The Waxing Moon in Capricorn is crossing the Galactic Core later today where the December Solstice Sun currently rises marking the Turning of the Ages. This Galactic Gateway is where new creatively inspired energies pour into this dimensional real and Capricorn is the archetypal mystery school most familiar with how spirit manifests into form. The Moon is at the center of this month’s “out of bounds” journey accessing the incoming galactic vibrational energy for how to most efficiently, effectively and responsibly administrate these new forms of manifestation for the benefit of the generations to come.
July 10, Monday. Venus (19 Gemini) trines Neptune (19 Aquarius) and the Capricorn Full Moon is at 19 Capricorn in the window of this month’s ‘out of bounds Moon’. Plus, retrograde Mercury moves back into Cancer where it remains until August 10. These are illusive and unpredictable energies that expand our perception and awareness to include multi-dimensional realms taking us beyond previously known mental and emotional concepts. It is a choice and when we choose to align with the intent of these energies this choice supports knowing beyond ordinary knowing, seeing beyond ordinary seeing, and feeling beyond ordinary feeling.
July 11, Tuesday. The Moon is moving into Aquarius reminding us to check in for a big picture overview from a unique and inspired perspective letting go of all the ‘shoulds’ that distract us from being present in the moment. It is helpful to step back for a good look at the big picture, and make changes where needed. Mercury in Cancer is bringing us messages about how we can deepen our process of practicing self-care. This includes the obvious things such as diet, exercise, low stress environments, etcetera, plus it includes paying attention to the behaviors that aren’t especially healthy but we convince ourselves are nurturing anyway such as eating ‘comfort’ food when we are upset as a way to escape what we are really feeling. Genuine self-care comes from conscious choices that nurture us on every level of our being physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
July 12, Wednesday. The waning Aquarius Moon is conjunct Neptune (19 Aquarius) reminding us of our connection to the field of all possibilities and the power of imaging and setting our intention or prayers from here. In Conversations With God Neale Donald Walsh shares this response from God…
No prayer – and a prayer is nothing more than a fervent statement of what is so – goes unanswered. Every prayer – every though, every statement, every feeling – is creative. To the degree that it is fervently held as truth, to that degree will it be made manifest in your experience.
When it is said that a prayer has not been answered, what has in actuality happened is that the most fervently held thought, word, or feeling has become operative. Yet what you must know--and here is the secret--is that always it is the thought behind the thought--what might be called the Sponsoring Thought--that is the controlling thought.
If therefore, you beg, and supplicate, there seems a much smaller chance that you will experience what you think you are choosing, because the Sponsoring Thought behind every supplication is that you do not have now what you wish. That sponsoring thought becomes your reality.
The only Sponsoring Thought, which could override this thought, is the thought held in faith that God will grant whatever is asked, without fail. Some people have such faith, but very few.
The process of prayer becomes much easier when, rather than having to believe that God will always say, “yes” to every request, one understands intuitively that the request itself is not necessary. Then the prayer is a prayer of thanksgiving. It is not a request at all, but a statement of gratitude for what is so!!!”
July 13, Thursday. The Moon is moving into Pisces this afternoon and will occult Uranus tomorrow though we are already in the window of this affect today. Also Venus (23 Gemini) is aligning zodiacally with the three stars that form the belt of Orion. See the Fixed Star Site:
Alnitak the eastern most star in the belt is 24 Gemini 41 and the name means the girdle. Mintaka the western most star in the belt comes from the Arabic word for "belt" and is 22 Gemini 24. Alnilam the central star in the belt is 23 Gemini 28 and its name means "a belt of pearls". These three stars are one of the most easily observable features of the night sky as they appear about equal distance from each other in about equal brightness.
The belt of Orion is also seen in some cultures as "the Magi", the "Three Kings", the "Three Mary’s", or simply the "Three Stars".The celestial equator now passes through the Belt, but was 12° below it 4,000 years ago. The celestial equator is a factor in locating where the Solstices and Equinoxes are found against the backdrop of the sky. The belt of Orion is inside the Sacred Hoop below the ecliptic where the exact June Solstice is now located.
The story of Orion is worth noting as Venus is passing by here over the next few days gathering insights in her own personal journey. Most cultures have viewed this constellation in connection with masculine imagery and yet this is an area of the sky birthing more new stars than any other yet found. The following mythic reminders are intended to inspire your own connection and experience with these mysteries.
Orion, the splendid huntsman, was famous for his prowess both as a hunter and as a lover. He was of gigantic size and strength, and of great beauty; he supposedly had greater strength and stature than any other mortal and was the most handsome man who ever lived. Poseidon bestowed on him the power of striding across the sea; Orion was so tall that he could walk through deep water without wetting his head.A skilled blacksmith; he fabricated a subterranean palace for Vulcan. He also walled in the coasts of Sicily against the encroaching sea and built a temple to the gods there.Orion was named by the Greeks, but this obvious figure was variously known as a god, hero, warrior, and hunter by almost every culture that cared about naming stellar groupings. It was already known as Orion by 425 BCE, and there are connections in ancient legend with Ares, god of war.
He had no fear of any animal, and once he even threatened to exterminate all the animals of the Earth. When Gaia, the Goddess of the Earth, heard of this threat she became furious and sent a scorpion to kill Orion. The scorpion bit Orion, and he fell to Earth mortally wounded. In the real sky or on a planisphere, one can see that when the stars of Orion sink below the western horizon, the stars of the Scorpion are just rising in the east.
Then Orion is restored to health and strength by Ophiuchus, the Doctor of Antiquity. Ophiuchus gave Orion an antidote for the scorpion's poison, which saved the giant's life. This can also be seen in the sky, when the Scorpion sets in the southwest, Ophiuchus stands over him, which means that he tramples the Scorpion underfoot and gives Orion the antidote.Later, when Ophiuchus sets in the west, Orion comes up in the east, fully recovered.
July 14, Friday. Mars (25 Leo) trines Pluto (25 Sagittarius) and Venus (26 Gemini) is sextile Mars and opposite Pluto while the Moon is occulting Uranus. These energies support a radical assemblage point shift built around the old paradigm misconception that suffering and sacrifice is necessary for atonement and liberation. Verification of this collective shift was evident when The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown became a runaway best seller. Recently with the release of The Da Vinci Code movie in May the collective field has been impacted again as we are reminded that the stories that have shaped our current culture and the resulting belief systems have been politically manipulated. Suffering and sacrifice are old paradigm expressions now dying out with the light of new information and understanding as we remember our divine birthright to enjoy and savor the ecstasy of love and life creating a new paradigm based in the genuine experience of freedom and love through compassion and forgiveness.
July 15, Saturday. The Moon is now moving through Aries until the evening of July 17 inspiring action that is intuitive and decisive in the moment. Aries energy acts before it reflects whereas other energies may need time to process or reflect before taking action. When Aries is healthy - then spontaneous, intuitive, decisive and inspired action is authentically aligned with divine will and it is through this kind of inspired action that healthy accelerated growth takes place.
July 16, Sunday. Retrograde Mercury is about to conjunct the Sun on July 18 near the fixed star Procyon the brightest star in the constellation Canis Minor or the “lesser dog” found on the outer rim of the Sacred Hoop. Mercury first passed by this star last month at the June Solstice and passes here again August 4 to 6. Sirius and Procyon are located on either side of the Milky Way a.k.a. the Celestial River of Celestial Highway and are not visible now as the Sun is in this area of the sky.
According to Dr. Eric Morse in his book The Living Stars Procyon was the navigator of the ship Argo featured in the story of Jason and the Argonauts whose quest was to find the Golden Fleece. (See Jason and the Argonauts myth and another version) (See July 20) http://www.timelessmyths.com/classical/argon and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jason
Mercury is accessing information and bringing messages that assist the quest for true healing knowledge that will help humanity to experience itself soaring beyond the current limitations we now experience. Procyon has the ability to navigate new territory for the purpose of creating alchemical healing surrendering to the process of regeneration and recommitment to fully experiencing wholeness through health and vitality. Mercury in Cancer passing by Procyon three times in its retrograde cycle suggests it is time to actively engage our relationship with our self and with our significant others in ways that are truly nurturing and healing as well.
Jul 17, Monday. The Last quarter Moon (25 Aries) near the fixed star Al Pherg (26 Aries) or Al Phargh, an Arab word, meaning outpouring of water and/or the mouth or lip of any vessel used for liquids. This star marked the 1st ecliptic constellation of the Babylonians, known as the "Cord of the Fish" referring to the center point of the uniting cords linking the two fish of Pisces… Another meaning may be the "Dwelling of the Fish". The Arabians knew it as the "Flaxen Thread".
http://www.winshop.com.au/annew/alphabet1.htm
Pherg acts as a connecting link or nexus between two differing energies and their expressions. “What are the messages coming through now that connect these different realms of experience – especially synthesizing new ways of relating to and expressing all the currently manifesting multi-dimensional changes in ways that are beneficial and supportive to my personal growth and experience?”
The Moon is moving into Taurus tonight traveling through here until the early morning hours of Jul 20. The Moon in Taurus is transmitting the mysteries of intimacy, receivership, beauty, and aesthetics. This is a wonderful time to notice the beauty that is everywhere around us in every moment - allowing beauty to gently, lovingly change us and the world we experience.
Seeking Beauty's Place In Our Time by James Hubbell describes beauty this way…Beauty, like love, has the power to change things. It can also help us make decisions and unite the disparate elements in our lives.
July 18, Tuesday. Sun conjuncts Mercury ((25 Cancer see July 16) and Venus moves into Cancer (until Aug 12) crossing the Galactic Edge where the June Solstice is currently located focusing the feminine energy on the principles of self-care. (See Intro)
The Sun and retrograde Mercury meet (25 Cancer) beginning a new cycle of Mercury that will last 113 days until Nov 8, 2006. Mercury symbolizes our mind, our style of thinking, perception, cognition, and communication, or said another way - through what archetypal lens we perceive our reality. Mercury in Cancer operates through the feelings and deep inner knowing that is not based in logic or reason though it may actually be logical in its outward expression. When heart and mind are harmoniously synchronized in the Cancer realm then creative expression and communication are maximized especially when we are practicing nurturing ourselves and those around us. A safe nurturing environment provides Cancer with a healthy space for their most brilliant and insightful communication to occur.
July 19, Wednesday. Mars is conjuncting Regulus and Venus moved into Cancer late last night or early this morning. Venus in Cancer incorporates the elements of responsible nurturing in her archetypal journey to integrate the Capricorn goddess expression that began last January. This is a time for drawing upon the regenerative power of the feminine principle to nurture herself and others in ways that support what is unfolding.
Mars passes by Regulus, the heart of the Lion, for the first time in 26 months. Regulus is about 85 light years from Earth meaning the starlight we see from this star is 85 Earth years old. The heart-centered wisdom available to us from Regulus is worth noting, as Regulus is the regulator, the one who “makes regular or puts in good order” what is shifting and changing. Regulus is also linked with the Sphinx and the Hall of Records thought to be located somewhere within the Sphinx suggesting this is also a time for acting from the heart to locate the wisdom and knowing in our own internal Hall of Records.
There is more real occultism hidden in the names give to the various stars by astronomers down the ages than has yet been realized. Esoterically Sirius uses Regulus as its lens. - A quote from the Ancient Wisdom
Sirius is the star of Christ consciousness and we associate the Christ with the Heart center. Since Sirius is known as theDog Star (God Star), then the star Regulus (the Heart of the Lion, the Lawgiver) is the "lens," the regulator, of energy to the Earth, stimulating a response in humanity to express this consciousness of the heart, the quality we call love.

July 20, Thursday. The Moon is moving into Gemini in the early morning hours today where it remains until the evening of Jul 22. The Gemini mysteries include the art of being in the moment, spontaneous, outrageous, hilarious and entertaining. This is the domain of the trickster who defies logic and reason, going beyond the ordinary boundaries of duality, demonstrating that things are not as real as they appear, leaping empty handed into the void knowing and totally trusting s/he has transcended the laws of duality and is now living total freedom. Also this is the center point of the window of the Mercury conjunction with Procyon. (See July 16).
July 21, Friday. Gemini Moon enters 3 day Lunar Standstill window at the Galactic Edge active today, exact tomorrow and active on July 23. The waning crescent Moon is traveling through the Sacred Hoop or the Great Shining Circle looking out into deep space. The crescent Moon is visible in the early morning sky before sunrise. The Galactic Edge is aligned along the galactic plane and is one of the main indicators of the current Turning of the Ages. For all of 2006 and 2007 during the time when the Moon is in late degrees Gemini and early Cancer we are receiving a downloading of inter-galactic vibrational frequencies coming from beyond our galaxy. This vibrational shift is easier to assimilate when we pay attention to how we are expressing our own personal vibrational signature through what we think, feel, say and do. Maximizing the potency of this timing is greatly facilitated when we are choosing activities that facilitate self-forgiveness, self-care and self-love. (See Lunar Standstill Article plus the June and July Celestial Timings Introduction).

Mars is reaching exact conjunction with Regulus today and is in range until July 25. According to the bookThe Fixed Stars and Their Interpretations, by Ebertin-Hoffman. "…when Mars or Saturn are in conjunction with Regulus, especially exciting events are always recorded e.g. assassinations, coup detat, revolutions, revolts, demonstrations, overthrow of heads of state and similar events."This is most likely due to the active nature of Mars representing the benefits of decisive actionRegulus also loves heart-centered action. The two energies together represent the active heart centered strength that is needed to successfully achieve long term goals. This conjunction of Mars with Regulus near the Sun isopening a portal into the Hall of Records further energizing powerful shifts in our personal and collective DNA. For those who have planets in late degrees of Leo or the first few degrees of Virgothis timing is especially personally activating. It might be helpful to ask ourselves…How can Ifully open to receive the encoded cellular wisdom and knowledge within me that is now activating new portals, new edges of experience, that are alchemically and cellularly literally transforming and expandingmy direct experienceof my divine self?
July 22, Saturday. The Sun is making its annual move into Leo where it remains until Aug 22/23 and Mars is moving into Virgo (still conjuncting Regulus) for the first time in nearly 26 months. (See July 19) For the next 30 days the Sun in Leo illuminates the mysteries of Self-Love through self-confidence, self-approval, and self-acceptance. One of the best ways to connect with these experiences is through self-forgiveness. Also today is Mary Magdalene’s Feast Day. Interestingly there is a lot of evidence emerging now that suggests Mary Magdalene’s real story has been misrepresented as part of the disempowerment of the feminine in many religious contexts. (There are lots of historically researched books about this including The Bloodline of the Holy Grail by Sir Lawrence Gardner and The Woman With the Alabaster Jar by Margaret Starbird)
Interestingly, there is a growing movement today within the Catholic Church to redress the misrepresentation of Mary Magdalene and to restore her rightful role as a queen and an apostle as well as someone who was a wise visionary and carrier of sacred knowledge. This movement acts as an external symbolic reminder for us all to look at how we can reclaim our own divine heritage and with Mars moving into Virgo and still accessing the Hall of Records there is an active masculine force intending to bring sacred knowledge including the sacred expression of the feminine principle to the forefront of our experience. This is beautifully depicted in many ways through the book and movie The Da Vinci Code especially visually notable at the end of the movie when Tom Hanks honors Mary Magdalene on bended knee. This is a powerful visual indication of these rapidly changing Times.
Week of Jul 23 – 31 The Leo New Moon Window is Jul 23, 24, 25. A New Moon occurs about every 29 and ½ days when the Moon aligns with the Sun from the Earth’s perspective. Shamanic Astrology works with the direct visual and kinesthetic experience of the planetary cycles and the Moon cycle is the easiest to visually witness with the exception of the New Moon. In the New Moon window there may be the smallest tiny crescent Moon visible for a brief time either the day before the New Moon just before Sunrise or the day after the New Moon just after Sunset. When the New Moon is exact there is no Moon visible because the Moon is with the Sun. The dark of the Moon or New Moon window is a time traditional reserved for collectively planting seeds, and giving thanks for what already IS.
July 23, Sunday. In this last day of the Lunar Standstill window (see Jul 21) for this month the Moon in Cancer reminds us of the importance of self-care and self-nurturing. The Recovering Hero Proclamation (see Celestial Timings Archives January 2004 is a helpful model for deepening our practices of self care. Here we are reminded we do not have to prove anything to anyone, we are not obligated to heal or help anyone, or fix anything, or create the ideal peaceful world. The recovering hero knows his or her work emanates from their own heart and spirit, remembering self and loving self first. When healthy and grounded the recovering hero may choose to actively engage revolutionary peaceful change, because it energizes their experience of greater personal joy and fulfillment. The choice is not based in a sense of guilt or atonement or a need to prove oneself worthy to an outside authority, because they KNOW their value and worth comes from their being and not because of what they have done or what they are doing. In this case, self-nurturing is following your true heart’s desire, fulfilling your divine purpose in the ways that are most pleasurable, supportive and beneficial to you, and not because it is the “right” thing to do as dictated by some outside authority. Rather, it is because each action is aligned with your heart’s desire and is therefore aligned with divine desire.

I forgive myself for believing it is my job to be the hero in any situation or save anyone else from having the experience they are creating.
July 24, Monday. Tonight is the New Moon in Leo (2 Leo) conjunct Mercury reminding us of the importance of embracing our divine nature even if it means at first we are only pretending to do so. Many may remember The Thomas messages James Twyman shared in the summer of 2002 that suggested pretending to be God speeds up our ability to integrate the experience of our divinity. An especially amazing part of the message was:
“…Descend, pretend and ascend. It is like a wave that rises then falls. First the energy of God descends upon the Earth, then it pretends whatever it wants to be, then it ascends back to its source. You are God pretending to be whatever you are right now…We have used this one word before. Pretend. But now it is time to complete the thought. Once you understand the Cycle of God, then you will understand your role in that Cycle. And when you understand your role in that Cycle, then the world is healed…If you became that center point where God PRETENDS to be you, then you can turn the tables, which is the real trick, and PRETEND to be God. Do you understand? God pretending to be you is the same thing as you pretending to be God. We've said many times before that when you do this, then you're pretending something that is true. When you pretend something that is true, then you immediately become that Truth.”
July 25, Tuesday. The waxing tiny crescent Moon is conjunct Saturn in Leo visible low on the western horizon after Sunset helping to structure new forms of radiant, healthy, creative, radical self-love especially if we have been actively practicing self-forgiveness and self-care. Healthy Leo knows they do not have to DO anything to have supreme value and worth. Leo knows it is their presence and the light they radiate and vibrate in this life that is their greatest gift to this evolving world. If we are not truly loving ourselves now is the time to look at the structures of our lives including our belief systems and begin to actively change them in ways that help facilitate a growing conscious experience of our divine essence.
I forgive myself for all the ways I have not yet remembered to forgive myself especially the ways I have judged myself as not good enough!!! And I love myself fully and completely showing up (or at least practicing at showing up) as the radiant divine being that I AM!
July 26, Wednesday. Venus (9 Cancer) trines Jupiter (9 Scorpio) expanding the passion and intensity intended to support genuine self-care that is heart centered and expressed in our personal life force energy field. (See Intro)
July 27, Thursday. The Moon moves into Virgo passing by Regulus (See July 19) and occults Mars visible in parts of Europe including the British Isles and parts of Greenland. This is about consciously weaving the web of our personal lives. In Norse mythology the web or pattern of life was known as wyrd and the weavers of this wyrd or fate were the Norns known by the names of Urd (the past), Verdandi (the being) and Skuld (what is to come). The archaic definition of weird according to Webster’s is: “concerned with controlling fate or destiny.” It is interesting to note that weird now seems to be something we consider to be out side of normal or what we expect as normal life. Is this because we have forgotten our relationship in co-creating the patterning of life? Maybe our sense of weird is more weird than its original meaning.
In the novel The Wolf and the Raven, Diana Paxton shares this imagery:
“’The Norns spin out threads but we weave them into the pattern’…. ‘Wyrd is always becoming. When we understand, we will what must be.”
This reminds us we are active co-creators with the unfolding mysteries. We inform the mysteries as much as they inform us when we are willing to be conscious and to engage a sacred relationship with what we are co-weaving in the wyrd tapestry of life.
July 28, Friday. Mercury (21 Cancer) stations direct today marking the center of the Still Point shift before Mercury begins its forward journey once again. The Still Point is an infinity point with great potential for receiving sacred knowledge through new messages, new information, new possibilities, and new creative explorations. Simply being open to and accepting what IS allows this process to work its magic in perhaps unexpected ways. This energy is active until August 12 when Mercury moves beyond the degree of its retrograde station. (See Jul 16)
July 29, Saturday. The Sun (7 Leo) and retrograde Chiron (7 Aquarius) are reaching their annual opposition. (See Chiron Article in articles section) And with the Moon is moving into Libra this afternoon until July 31 transmitting the mysteries of conscious equal partnership with ourselves and God or Great Spirit first and then others. A conscious relationship with spirit requires forgiving ourselves for the ways we have felt and acted when we believed we were disconnected from our divine source. This also requires forgiving all those who have hurt us be it our parents, friends, other family members, co-workers etc.
Marianne Williamson speaks to this in her book A Return to Love saying; “At a certain point, we forgive because we decide to forgive. Healing occurs in the present, not the past. WE are not held back by the love we didn’t receive in the past, but the love we’re not extending in the present. Either God has the power to renew our lives, or He doesn’t…Forgiveness remains the only path that leads out of hell. Whether we forgive our parents, someone else, or ourselves, the laws of mind remain the same: As we love, we shall be released from pain, and as we deny love, we shall remain in Pain. Every moment, we’re either extending love or projecting fear, and every thought takes us nearer to Heaven or Hell.
July 30, Sunday. Venus (14 Cancer) is conjunct the fixed star Sirius and trining retrograde Uranus (1 Pisces) amplifying the power of the feminine principle through the Sirius Stargate that is especially potent this time of year as mentioned in the July 5 Timings. Sirius and Venus are both visible in the morning sky and worth connecting with visually as this acts to bring our physical bodies into harmonious balance enhancing meditative states and accessing information from our multi-dimensional selves. This possibility is being further catalyzed by the trine from Uranus empowering compassionate and empathic connection to the parts of ourselves that are needing forgiveness and healing.
July 31, Monday. The Moon enters Scorpio early this morning where it remains until just after midnight on Aug 2 emphasizing the mysteries of death and rebirth, resurrection and renewal, and empowerment through facing the fears that disempower us and ultimately run our lives when we are denying them. We might ask ourselves;
“In what ways do we repress our natural intensity and passion and in what ways can we give ourselves permission utilizing the power of forgiveness over the next few days to explore those feelings in safe and healthy ways?”
