Solar Eclipses and Lunar Eclipses
Eclipses open portals from the Great Above. These doorways are opportunities to consciously connect with what is hidden within in ourselves. In a Solar Eclipse the Moon is passing between the Sun and the Earth covering and uncovering the Sun from the Earth's perspective. In a Lunar Eclipse the Earth is passing between the Sun and the Moon and the Earth's shadow falls on the face of the Moon. In both cases the Sun and Moon are covered by a shadow and then a short time later the light returns.
Eclipses accelerate time and opportunities to totally surrender into the great void, into the great unknown where who we think we are, and why we think we are here is swallowed by darkness or primordial chaos. Out of this chaos a new world is birthed. Through the accelerating or quickening of the eclipse energies this newly birthed light then takes form at an amazing rate of speed, emerging more and more fully into the light of our awareness with each passing day. What is hidden is once again revealed, just as the Moon covers the Sun, or the Earth's shadow covers the Moon, hiding them for a space of time and then moves on uncovering what has been hidden.
Solar Eclipses
A total Solar Eclipse is another triple line-up of the Earth, Sun and Moon, only this time it is the Moon passing between the Earth and the Sun, and the Moon’s shadow covers the Sun creating the effect of night occuring during the day. The night effect is so convincing the flowers close up, the birds stop singing, the animals settle down to rest and the stars and planets near the Sun become visible. It is as if we are allowed a rare peak into the inner workings of the Sun’s council.
In a total Solar Eclipse the Sun, representing the fuel or life sustaining force for our world, goes through a shamanic death, being reborn a short time later in the same day. This is an event out of the rhythm and flow of ordinary time. It creates an opportunity for us all to participate in a planetary conscious death and rebirth process. This is especially potent for those who actually have an opportunity to witness this event.
As the light returns, the world experiences a second dawn (or rebirth) within the same day. This feels much like the birthing of twins, a double dawn symbolizing illumination and resurrection that brings renewed light into the world.
Lunar Eclipses
A total Lunar Eclipse from our perspective as Earth-Based observers occurs when the Earth passes in a direct line between the Sun and the Moon casting the Earth’s Shadow upon the face of the Full Moon. The line-up of these three celestial bodies are like the tumblers in a combination lock lining up, opening a portal that activates certain planetary and personal codes. Eclipses often signal accelerating changes, clearing, eliminating, releasing, and transforming so the new energies have room to fully manifest.
Total Lunar Eclipses provide us with an opportunity to witness all the phases of the Moon in a few short hours. The full eclipse window usually lasts about 3 and ½ hours. In that time, if visible we have an opportunity to observe all the phases of the Moon collapsed from a 29.5 day cycle to about three hours.
