We are poised on the brink of a revolution-a revolution as daring and profound as Einstein’s discovery of relativity. At the very frontier of science new ideas are emerging that challenge everything we believe about how our world works and how we define ourselves.

Discoveries are being made that prove what religion has always espoused: that human beings are far more extraordinary than an assemblage of flesh and bones. At its most fundamental, this new science answers questions that have perplexed scientists for hundreds of years. At its most profound, this is a science of the miraculous.

~The Field The Quest For the Secret Force of the Universe
 Lynne McTaggart

Below is a view of the Galactic Plane depicting what is sometimes described as the Photon BeltGalactic Center

In July I received at least three different things about the photon belt and decided it was a message to include some of the information that is circulating. There is a lot of misinformation about this and it isn’t easy to decipher what is real and what isn’t. The main thing to know is something is happening on a Galactic level that is affecting the Earth and the entire Solar System.

Dr. Alexey Dmitriev, of the Siberian department of the Russian Academy of Sciences at Novosibirsk, has research that seems to confirm the existence of what has been referred to as “the Photon Belt.” Dr. Dmitriev, along with other scientists, is measuring a remarkably huge increase in plasma and photon activity in our Solar System. This is having a profound affect on our Sun, with an unprecedented amount of solar activity, as well as affecting the weather patterns of every planet in our Solar System! This goes far beyond the issues we are experiencing around Global Warming. Apparently, we would be experiencing weather shifts regardless, but Global Warming is definitely adding to what is taking place; and something we still need to take responsibility for, as we grow and evolve and learn to live in harmony with our beloved Earth.

It turns out that our entire Solar System is currently moving into alignment with the Galactic Plane where the so-called “Photon Belt” is located. The Photon Belt was discovered via satellites in 1961 and is located along the Milky Way band or the Galactic Plane. This is the area of the sky with the greatest concentration of stars and thus, photon light particles. The Earth reaches this area of the sky approximately every 10 to 12,000 years, and it takes about 2,000 years to move through it. When the Earth enters the Photon Belt, a number of climate and other Earth changes occur. Part of what we are experiencing now as the Earth is re-entering the Photon Belt is that our entire Solar System is also aligning along the Galactic Plane, and this only happens in approximately 130-million year (or more) cycles. There are other time frames given in the millions of year mark (including a 206-million year larger cycle), but this gives the sense of how it has been a really long time since the whole Solar System went through this alignment with the Galactic Plane.

Pluto and Jupiter are both showing up in a zodiacal alignment with Galactic Center this year, and the Lunar Standstill Moon is literally occulting this area of the sky once each month. This is the integration of a 12-year cycle (Jupiter), and a 19-year cycle (Lunar Standstill), and a 248-year cycle (Pluto) during a 26,000-year cycle when the Sun aligns with Galactic Center at the December Solstice. Without including the 26,000 year cycle these events would not have lined up in over 56000 years. When we consider all these factors together, the Earth is truly experiencing a whole new cycle of possibility beyond anything that has ever happened before; and we are here to be a part of this grand evolution.

Visible Planets

Invisible Planets

Perseid meteor showers peak on August 12 and 13 with great visibility in the New Moon window. August also provides the most abundant meteors of the year. See photo below. The best time to begin checking this out is 9:00 and 10:00 PM on Sunday, August 12, when Perseus rises in the northeast. These are slow moving, long tails and very colorful meteors worth watching if you have clear skies. As the night goes on, the number of meteors will increase with the greatest number visible just before dawn, with more than one a minute possible. Best viewing places are away from city lights.

Also according to Guy Ottewell’s Astronomical Calendar August and September is the best time of year to see the zodiacal light (sometimes mistaken as the atmospheric glow of dawn) about 1-2 hours before dawn. This is the “false dawn” mentioned in the Rubaiyat of Omar Kayyam.

August Daily Timings
Aug 1, Wednesday. The August Cross-Quarter, also known as Lammas in the Christian Calendar, was celebrated as Lughnassadh (pronounced Loo-nuh-suh), a time of harvest and victory in the Celtic Calendar. Lughnassadh was the first of three harvest festivals celebrating the plentiful ripening grain and the prosperity of the land and people. The Christian religion adopted this celebration and called it 'Lammas,' meaning 'loaf-mass,' a time when newly baked loaves of bread were placed on the altar. Currently celebrated on August 1 or 2, the actual astrological Cross-Quarter is actually on Aug 7. (See Aug 2003 Celestial Timings Archives.)

The Pisces Moon is conjunct Uranus (18 Pisces) reminding us that even in times of radical change and disruption, all our needs for soul growth are met in every moment. As stated in The Shamanic Astrology Handbook, when encountering Uranus, it helps to roll with the flow and approach everything with an open hand. The more we try to hang on, the more intense the events become to create change. When the Moon conjuncts Uranus each month, unexpected events are possible designed to free us from what we know, or what we think we know, so something new can come through. It helps to accept and receive the changes with gratitude, and trust that what is happening is exactly what is most conducive to your soul’s growth.

Aug 2, Thursday. Today in Central America, in the town of Cartago, Costa Rica, La Negrita is greatly honored and celebrated. La Negrita is a small Black Virgin statue found by a young girl in 1635. The statue demonstrated magical powers by always mysteriously returning to the spot where it was first found, and so a church was built on that spot where La Negrita resides to this day. On August 2, Pilgrims from all over Central America journey to honor her. La Negrita http://www.isls.com/costarica/destination/cartago.html

Today the Sun (9 Leo 59) is trine Retrograde Jupiter (9 Sag 59), just three days before Jupiter stations Direct near Antares. Plus, the Moon is moving into Aries and completing the Grand Fire Trine and further activating the power of the Sun Jupiter trine. The stellar magic of Antares combined with the magnifying power of Jupiter, being energized by a trine from the Sun and the Moon, at Jupiter’s nearly Direct Still Point, provides a portal (portkey) for instant expansion and fulfillment of our vision and plans, on our path of self-realization or self-actualization when we are listening to and acting from guidance aligned with Spirit.

The story of La Negrita is a So Below expression of the magical possibility of this kind of As Above Timing to inspire our hearts and our dedication to the Divine well into the future. As this is a day to honor the power of the Divine Feminine, as expressed in the story of La Negrita, one way to work with these Celestial energies is to offer our prayers of gratitude and appreciation for the many expressions of the Divine Feminine that guide our way.

Aug 3, Friday. The activation of the Grand Fire Trine that began when the Moon entered Aries yesterday finds the Moon now at perigee (or closest to the Earth) in this Lunar Cycle. This is adding even greater energy to the Sun Jupiter trine still powerfully active today. (See Aug 2.)

Mercury (28 Cancer) is sextile Mars (28 Taurus) who is now passing just below the Pleiades and is visible looking toward the East in the early morning sky. This is definitely worth visually connecting with if you get a chance. It is only every 26 months that Mars can activate the Pleiadian stargate. (A stargate is an access point to other dimensions, and where energies from other dimension can come through.) We will not have the privilege of seeing the sextile from Mercury, since Mercury will not clear the horizon before Sunrise. Mercury as the transformational messenger is transmitting its message to Mars from a place beyond our visual experience. This reminds us that it is from deep within ourselves where clear guidance is accessible regarding what action or steps to take next.

Aug 4, Saturday. With the Moon moving into Taurus and catching up to Mars and the Pleiades on Aug 6, and with Jupiter also stationing Direct on Aug 6, there are numerous opportunities for heightened magical experiences. Opening to receive these possibilities, while also savoring and enjoying the beauty of the incoming magical energies, helps to ground the possibility of re-creating the Garden of Eden, this time without the fall from grace.

Mercury moves into Leo until August 19. Mercury symbolizes the mind, our perceptions, our beliefs, and how we communicate and creatively express ourselves. Mercury in Leo, when it is healthy, is a place of great confidence, courage, and strength. It is able to look ahead and take a leading role in announcing what is up ahead. The mind moves quickly in the fire element, and Mercury is moving quickly through this area of the sky speeding through Leo in about 16 days.

Aug 5, Sunday. The Taurus Last Quarter Moon (13 Taurus) is illuminating what we value and appreciate in ourselves and in the world. Savoring and enjoying life as a divine gift of sacred pleasure is the one of the highest expressions of the Taurus Mysteries. This return threshold of the hero/ine’s journey is an opportunity to slow down, relax, breathe deeply, and fully absorb and appreciate the power of beauty to bring change and joy into our lives. It may help to take time to notice the beauty that is everywhere around us in every moment – and allow beauty to gently, lovingly change us and the world we experience.

Beauty is elusive; it is as fleeting and as difficult to capture as it is to define. Beauty is commonplace; it is a presence so pervasive that each cloud is crowned with it; every sunset is casually, even recklessly, awash in it. Beauty is rare; it is a treasure so precious it is beyond the measure of price. Beauty is eternal; it yields as little to time as it does to place. Aug 6, Monday. Saturn (27 Leo) trines Pluto (27 Sag) suggesting the rules of Saturn (primarily human-made rules) are harmonizing with the rules of Pluto (primarily rules related to natural law); and with Pluto at Galactic Center and Saturn with Regulus, this is an alignment that has not occurred for perhaps thousands of years when we consider Pluto has a 248-year cycle, and Saturn has a 30-year cycle. Saturn was in Aries the last time Pluto passed by Galactic Center in about 1761. A good question worth asking now is, “How are we changing the rules (the human ones) so we are more directly guided by love?” This includes loving ourselves and others in ways that heal and strengthen our hearts and heart knowing. This is especially true when we remember that ultimately…Love heals everything.

The Moon is conjunct Mars (29 Taurus) and the Pleiades in a magnificent triple alignment that draws our attention to the Pleiadian stargate. Some esoteric information claims the fixed star Alcyone “The Central One” of the seven primary stars, a.k.a. the Seven Sisters of the Pleiades, is the location of our Galactic Library or Galactic Records. The largest star of the Pleiades, Alcyone is considered to be the central or main star. Alcyone is often seen as representing the whole group that is all situated within one degree. It is interesting to note that the Pleiades are encircled by the Photon Belt. The Mayans felt the Pleiades were so important, they designed the pyramid at Chichen Itza to track the Sun Pleiades conjunction that occurs for a time period about every 26,000 years, letting us know, among many other things, when the Earth enters the Photon Band.

The Moon is a transmitter, and Mars, now in its Elder Wisdom phase in the current 26-month Mars cycle until late September, is the active force; and between the two of them, it is possible there will be important insights coming toward Earth from the Pleiadian stargate that will be worth noting and acting upon over the next few days.

And then Mars moves into Gemini tonight or early tomorrow morning where it remains until Sep 28. This is archetypally linked with Kokopeli, the trickster, coyote, shapeshifter, entertainer who stretches our minds and expands our reality. Gemini loves to have fun and to play. It might be helpful to note, what actions are you taking to create fun in your life? Watching the 1990s hit movie Hook with Robin Williams is a fun way to connect or reconnect with the magic of the Gemini Mysteries.

Jupiter (9 Sag 56) stations Direct in exact zodiacal alignment with Antares, and Jupiter appears near Antares for the next couple of months, remaining within six degrees of Antares until Oct 11, 2007. Jupiter’s station represents one of two Still Points in the Jupiter cycle, where pronounced feelings of disorientation and chaos can occur as this massive planet seemingly pauses and then reorients to forward movement. This directional shift only occurs from the Earth’s perspective, as Jupiter doesn’t really move backward in its journey around the Sun. Jupiter stationed Retrograde on April 5, 2007, at 19 degrees and 57 minutes of Sagittarius and has retraced its steps back to Antares, the Heart of the Scorpion. (See May 26 CT archives.)

Aug 7, Tuesday. Today the Sun reaches the exact astrological Cross-Quarter (15 Leo), between the June Solstice and September Equinox. The days are growing shorter, though still longer than the nights, and Autumn is just around the corner. In ancient times, the Cross-Quarter dates between the Equinoxes and Solstices were celebrated as the “border time” or “in-between time,” the mid-point in-between two seasons, and was a time for gaining insight and/or inspiration beyond the limits of ordinary time. Utilizing this time for divination, meditation or other forms of guidance is especially effective now when we consider that Jupiter’s station near Antares is also an “in-between time” where magic happens.

Additionally, the waning Moon is in the Lunar Standstill degrees between 15 Gemini to 15 Cancer with 0 Cancer as the center point. If you have planets or angles at these degrees, this is an especially powerful time. These degrees are linked with the seasonal time known as Summer Solstice, now aligned (in the course of its 26,000-year cycle) with an area of the sky associated with the gateway where new creation enters this realm from the Galactic Edge.

Aug 8, Wednesday. 8/8. Lunar Standstill Moon moves into Cancer crossing the Galactic Edge. This is the area of the sky looking out beyond our Galaxy and where new information and insights are pouring into this realm. Many are finding that when the Lunar Standstill Moon is at the Galactic Edge, there is a sense of being stretched into new territory never before available to us. Many are finding they are doing unexpected things they had never imaged or considered. Being open, releasing expectations and trusting the flow of what is emerging is an effective way to be with this energy.

Retrograde Venus returns to Leo and conjuncts Regulus, the Heart of the Lion, Watcher of the North, and the Royal star of Archangel Raphael. This is the second pass of Venus past Regulus since last month. (See July 18, 23.)

Aug 9, Thursday. Mercury (9 Leo) trines Jupiter (9 Sagittarius). The focus of the current message is about following our heart-knowing. It is much easier to do this when we truly love who we are without reservation or judgment. Self-forgiveness is essential in experiencing genuine self-love and self-love is essential in following the guidance of our hearts.

Aug 10, Friday. Currently we have four planets in Leo and all four will pass the fixed star Regulus over the next month with the exception of Venus, who is now with Regulus until August 12 and returns here in October. Mercury reaches Regulus on August 19 and 20. The Sun is within one degree of Regulus from August 22 to 25, and Saturn is within one degree of Regulus from August 25 to September 10.

The Sun acts as a doorway to the Mysteries. The Sun near Regulus illuminates the transformative power of the alchemical flame within the heart of who we are. The powerful feminine expression of Venus, along with Messenger Mercury, and the growth into maturity through Saturn, provides an opportunity to experience a mature Self that does not need external validation, to know the truth of its being. If you find yourself looking for external validation such as approval from others or if you are at the effect of what you feel others might think of you, it is time to make a different and more conscious choice. If you aren’t sure how to accomplish this, then begin asking questions, and notice who and what shows up to assist you in developing greater heart-centered self-awareness. This will further help to activate your own radiant and shining Self in balanced harmony with your unfolding destiny.

According to the book Starlight Elixirs and Cosmic Vibrational Healing by Michael Smulkis and Fred Rubenfeld http://hilarion.com/stars.html, Regulus assists in unblocking buried subconscious patterns. They suggest that working with this star over time brings a sense of appreciation and understanding of how we fit into our patterns and when we become conscious of the limiting patterns that prevent us from being who we truly are we can begin to make more conscious choices. When we are choosing compassionate understanding, self-love, and self-awareness, we are better able to gently transform these limiting patterns with loving patience and self-acceptance.

Due to the Sun being with Venus, Mercury, and Saturn this month, we cannot visually connect with Regulus or these planets because the Sun outshines them. However, bathed in the light of the illuminating Sun, the possibility for alchemical transformation is heightened. This is a rare opportunity worth noting, because even though once each year Venus, Mercury, and the Sun pass by Regulus, it is only once every 30 years that Saturn is located here; and, as a feature of the Lunar Standstill, Regulus is also being occulted by the Moon 12 times this year. Saturn in Leo has been in a process of evolving and maturing the king archetype, realigning with its original intent, to come from radical self-love as a way to better serve the people, as opposed to the shadow expression that has focused on a power-over-others in a self-serving agenda.

Aug 11, Saturday. Waning Moon moves into Leo reminding us that, “We are the ones we have been waiting for!” We are the Shining Ones returning. We are the co-creators of the living experience of Heaven on Earth. The question is how do we know and act from that knowing, that this is who we are and this is what we are creating? With Leo as our guide, it starts by truly loving ourselves and showing up with confidence.

Aug 12, Sunday. The Leo New Moon (20 Leo) conjuncts Mercury. In this New Moon seed point with Transformational Messenger Mercury involved, we have an opportunity to further seed the essence of self-love through the practice of self-care. Osho tells us in the Book of Secrets to be only concerned with developing a healthy self-expression first; and then, when we are fully conscious of our True Self what we are here to do, easily manifests.

Be selfish, I say, because that is the only way you will become selfless, that is the only way you can become a help and a blessing to the world. Don’t be worried about it (the world); that is not your concern. The greater your worries are, the greater you think your responsibilities are…

Get out of this madness of helping others. Just help yourself, that’s all that can be done. And then many things happen…but they happen as a consequence. Once you become a source of Light, things start happening. Many will share it; many will be enlightened through it. Many will attain life, more life, abundant life through it. But don’t think about it. You cannot do anything about it consciously. Only one thing can be done and that is, you can become conscious, then everything follows.

Perseid Meteor shower peaks tonight. (See intro.) Plus, Mars is in this area of the sky approaching the fixed star Aldebaran, and you may see meteors fly past the bright red Mars.

Aug 13, Monday. Sun (21 Leo) is opposite Retrograde Neptune (21 Aquarius) marking the mid-point of Neptune’s Retrograde journey that lasts until October 31. The purpose of a planetary Retrograde is to take us deeper into the archetypal mysteries of that planet. The Neptune mysteries govern ideals, visions, dreams, intuitive guidance, and the place where dreams become reality. Asking questions, listening for answers, staying attuned to inner guidance, noticing synchronicities are ways our questions get answered when we are choosing to stay present with the Neptune process. The shadow side of Neptune expresses through confusion, uncertainty, illusions, loosing touch with reality, and what it really takes to manifest our dreams and desires in this dimension. This timing is one of the deepest, most inner-directed times for accessing our own “big picture” through inner processes. When we are in touch with our inner knowing, we know what steps are needed to fulfill our dreams.

The Moon conjuncts Retrograde Venus (27 Leo) and Saturn (27 Leo), and all three conjunct Regulus though not visible. This may be a time where our ability to love ourselves and others is tested. Meditating on our own Heart and listening to our Heart is a powerful way to engage this Timing, especially since we do not have visual access to Venus, Saturn or Regulus due to the Sun’s presence. Venus is passing by Regulus three times this year. The first window was July 12 – 16, the current window is during the Venus Retrograde Aug 4 – 13, and the next window is Oct 6 – 10.

Aug 14, Tuesday. Retrograde Venus (26 Leo) trines Retrograde Pluto (26 Sagittarius) empowering the Divine Feminine Wisdom and Expression we all carry when we are able to surrender egoic attachments to how we think we should be, how we think others should be, and how we think life in general should be. From this place of allowing, the brilliance of the Divine Feminine can truly shine through us. This is the second of three Trines Venus is making to Pluto due to the Venus Retrograde. The first Trine was July 9, and the last one will be October 3.

Aug 15, Wednesday. Today is the Feast Day Celebration of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary http://www.wf-f.org/Assumption.html. The setting of this holy day is thought to be connected to Virgin cults that preceded the Virgin Mary. The reason for this, as described by David Ovason in his book, The Secret Architecture of Our Nation’s Capitol, The Masons and the Building of Washington, D.C., is because this date corresponds to a time of year when the Sun comes into close alignment with the Fixed Star Regulus. However, due to the precession of the signs through the constellations, moving at a rate of one degree every 72 years, the Sun is no longer exactly aligned with Regulus on Aug 15. The Sun Regulus conjunction is now exact on August 23. (See Difference Between Signs and Constellations.)

There are sacred sites around the world that are aligned with certain stars. The Washington, D.C. capitol is one (it is primarily aligned with Sirius), as is Rennes-le-Chateau, in France, and many other sites around the world. The location of Rennes-le-Chateau corresponds to the 72-degree position of the Sun rise from true North that takes place on August 15 as described by John K. Young, Ph.D. in his book, Sacred Sites of the Knights Templar, Ancient Secrets Hidden in Stonehenge, Rennes-le-Chateau and Santiago De Compostela.

Because Rennes-le-Chateau is at the perfect latitude to capture the sunrise line pointing to the Stellar Triangle,* and to align with at least five other sites at 72 degree angles, as part of perfectly formed, five-pointed star with each point exactly 72 degrees apart from each other; this site was purposely chosen as a sacred connection between Earth and Sky. (Note: there is still time to join us on a sacred journey to France to Rennes-le-Chateau and many other sacred sites.)

*A note about The Stellar Triangle: Young further points out that Regulus forms a perfect 30-60-90 degree right triangle with two other prominent stars in the sky. These stars are Spica (in the constellation of the Virgin Priestess) and Arcturus (in the constellation of Bootes). Young suggests that the Feast Day of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was most likely chosen because of the stellar connection of Regulus with Spica and Arcturus, and its connection to the Sun rise location of 72 degrees North at certain northern latitudes occurring around August 15.

All this is to say, the Sun and stellar connections now occurring were and are important, and we can align our awareness with the Sun today to receive even greater information, especially when we consider the Sun is also conjunct Mercury (23 Leo) today in Mercury’s psychopomp (or other world) phase. Mercury also conjuncts Retrograde Venus tomorrow.

Aug 16, Thursday. Mercury (25 Leo) conjuncts Venus (25 Leo) suggesting additional messages relating to the Divine Feminine. Yesterday was a day honoring the Divine Mother, whose ability to love Herself is the key to Her ability to truly love others. Building on the Saturn Venus conjunction of August 13, this is a time when further insights, messages, and guidance are available when we are open to them.

The waxing Moon moved into Libra last night or early this morning and is visibly approaching Spica tonight in the west, southwestern sky. The Moon will pass by Spica and zodiacally align with Arcturus sometime tomorrow. Spica is the fixed star located in the hand of the Virgin Priestess and has associations with the idea that we reap what we sow.

Arcturus and Spica are two stars that are linked together zodiacally at 22 Libra. These two stars are powerful symbols of the Sacred Feminine and the Sacred Masculine. The Tarot Cards depict the constellation of the Virgin Priestess holding the Scales of Justice in her hand. Where she is holding the scales is where Spica is located in the sky, just above the constellation of The Scales. Arcturus is the fourth brightest star in our sky and is located in the constellation of Bootes, The Herdsman, and has associations as the faithful guardian, protector, and companion of the Goddess. This describes how the masculine and feminine principles are different in their expression; but they play equally valid and important roles in the grand scheme of life. The reminder here is to honor the Sacred Marriage of Masculine and Feminine within ourselves.

Aug 17, Friday. Mercury (26 Leo 25) trines Pluto (26 Sag 25) empowering messages of truth that simply are. Osho reminds us in The Book of Secrets that:

Truth is always here. It is already the case. It is not something to be achieved in the future. You are the truth just here and now, so it is not something which is to be created or something which is to be devised or something which is to be sought.

Truth is in the present moment. When we are fully present in the moment, we experience Truth. Mercury trine Pluto is a time to remember how trines are like Still Points where there is no movement; there is only the present moment. A Still Point occurs at the end and beginning of every breath where there is no movement. Noting the pause between inhalation and exhalation can act as a wake-up point where we suddenly find ourselves in the truth, the freedom, and the ecstasy of the here and now. We cannot force this to happen. Rather, it is an allowing that can be facilitated by cultivating awareness of the pause between the inhalation and the exhalation.

The Sun conjuncts Retrograde Venus (24 Leo) as Venus is preparing for and seeding her next incarnation as the Leo Goddess when she rises before the Sun (a.k.a. the helical rise of Venus) on August 25, and begins a new 584-day journey that will focus on experiencing self-love, self-confidence, self-approval, and self-acceptance.

Aug 18, Saturday. Mercury conjuncts Saturn (28 Leo). For the past two years, Saturn has been in the process of reformulating the structure of the Leo Mysteries. The old form has come from a place of hierarchy based on the current experience of the King/Queen Archetype. Mercury’s message helps to inform Saturn of the evolving Leo archetype that leads from a healthy expression of self-love and self-confidence. Messenger Mercury in Leo with Saturn suggests we have an opportunity to formulate more conscious language based in love. “Love Language” is a healthy alternative to the “Logical Language” of the recent patriarchal culture. “Logical Language,” as described by Osho in The Book of Secrets, operates aggressively, trying to convince and convert others to a certain perspective, or way of thinking, or belief system that suggests “I am ‘right’ and ‘you are wrong’ if you do not believe as I do.

Love language comes from a concern for the other and not from a need to prove anything. With Love Language what is said is not as important as the way it is said and the feeling each person has in the exchange. It is more of “a heart-to-heart” talk than a “mind-to-mind” discussion. It is not a debate; it is a communion….the silence between the words becomes more significant.

This is true about how we talk to ourselves. When we truly love ourselves, our self-talk is loving, compassionate, and supportive. Indeed, the best place to practice speaking from the Language of Love is in how we speak to ourselves. Once again, it may be helpful to find the ways that you love yourself and acknowledge those ways.

Aug 19, Sunday. The Sun (26 Leo 24) is trine Retrograde Pluto (26 Sag 24) signaling the rapid slowing of Pluto moving only 6 minutes between now and its Direct station on Sep 7. Pluto’s journey through the Galactic Center continues to be one of many elements alerting us to the transformational opportunity we all have. Pluto is entering the Still Point window that lasts until September 27, when Pluto again reaches 26 degrees and 24 minutes of Sagittarius. This Timing encourages us to go deeply within to uncover any fears or misconceptions that are disempowering our lives and offer them up to the alchemical power of the Still Point. This mainly requires a willingness to surrender everything, especially our need to control outcomes. Surrendering and trusting the divine unfolding of life is the ultimate empowerment, much greater than perhaps yet imagined. One way to do this is to offer up all our fear and all our pain, all our guilt and all our shame, all our hurt and all our blame to the transforming power of the Violet Flame. (See July 2007 Celestial Timings.)

Aug 20, Monday. The Scorpio First Quarter Moon (27 Scorpio) window is visible Aug 19, 20 and 21, with the Half Full Moon overhead at Sunset. This Moon phase represents the balance between light and dark and is the most visibly rapid growth phase of the Moon, suggesting this is a great time to put our ideas and plans into action. The Moon continues to increase in light until the Pisces Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse on Aug 28. The Scorpio First Quarter Moon is a time to actively die to what no longer serves, releasing our addictions and attachments to outcome, thereby freeing up ecstatic life force energy to more fully live our passion.

Aug 21, Tuesday. The Lunar Standstill Moon conjuncts Vesta, Antares, and Jupiter. Vesta is conjunct Antares from August 20 – 30, with the exact conjunction on August 26. Vesta is the Keeper of the Sacred Flame, and was honored before all others in ancient Rome. However, it is also interesting to note that there were no statues or pictures of Vesta either, indicating that her contribution was made powerfully from behind the scenes. Fitting into the mythic expression we find that although Jupiter and Antares are visible, Vesta is not easily seen without a telescope. Antares is linked with Archangel Uriel, and transforms through the power of love expressed through the heart. Jupiter expands the energies of both Antares and Vesta. This passage from the Book of Enoch gives us clues about the importance of our connection to the heavens, the stars, and the planets, and their cycles. Indeed, remembering and learning about our connection to the heavens is a key element in experiencing wholeness, where Heaven and Earth are fully integrated. Great power and knowledge comes to us from these heavenly cycles. (See Aug 26.)

I beheld the celestial stars come forth. I numbered them as they proceeded out of the gate, and wrote them all down, as they came out one by one according to their number. I wrote down their names altogether, their times and their seasons, as the angel Uriel, who was with me, pointed them out to me. He showed them all to me and wrote down an account of them. He also wrote down for me their names, their regulations and their operations. (Enoch http://www.johnpratt.com/items/docs/enoch.html#32 ). http://www.johnpratt.com/items/docs/enoch.html#01

Aug 22, Wednesday. Mars is zodiacally aligned with Aldebaran (9 Gemini 55) having come into one degree of Aldebaran on Aug 20, and is staying in one degree until Aug 24, and Mars is an activating force strengthening the power of Aldebaran during this time. Mars passes by Aldebaran every 26 months and is worth noticing in the eastern sky if you are up before the Sun. Aldebaran is the Eye of the Bull, and is linked with Archangel Michael, the Angel of Protection. It is best to approach these energies from the place of a “beginners mind” or “no mind,” supporting the experience of freedom beyond what we have previously experienced.

The Sun goes into Virgo early tomorrow morning and remains in this domain until Sep 23. This seasonal move of the Sun into Virgo emphasizes our relationship to the pattern of life including the pattern of the natural cycles and rhythms of Earth and Sky. Without a conscious relationship to these patterns, we are only experiencing a part of the whole of life. A return to wholeness includes our sacred relationship with the Earth and the Sky! From our Earth-based perspective, one does not exist without the other. Taking time to be with the seasonal cycles, moon cycles, planetary cycles as they move through the backdrop of the stars is one of the most empowering things we can do for ourselves.
Aug 23, Thursday. Sun Moves into Virgo (See Aug 22),

Mars with Aldebaran is opposite Jupiter with Antares. Considering everything I have shared about this in the past few months, you can imagine that this is a powerful activation of this stargate portal within the Lunar Standstill window, opening to the stellar mysteries intended to magically reorient our experience from a base of fear and resistance to a base of love and acceptance.

The Moon travels through the Lunar Standstill degrees near Galactic Center once each month when it is passing through15 Sagittarius to 15 Capricorn with 0 Capricorn at the center point-----This is aligned with the Winter Solstice Window and is the place where we experience the die off of old forms. Once each month, the Moon joins Pluto at Galactic Center, calling our attention to the importance of embracing and transforming our fear. In his book, The Law Of Success, Paramahansa Yogananda tells us:

Fear exhausts life force energy; it is one of the greatest enemies of dynamic will power. Fear causes the Life Force that ordinarily flows steadily through the nerves to be squeezed out, and the nerves themselves to become paralyzed; the vitality of the whole body is lowered. Fear doesn’t help you get away from the object you fear; it only weakens your will power. Fear causes the brain to send an inhibiting message to all bodily organs. It constricts the heart, checks the digestive functions, and causes other physical disturbances. When the consciousness is kept on God, you will have no fears; every obstacle will then be overcome by courage and faith.

Fear is often a direct result of our addictions or attachments to results or outcome. When we recognize our attachment or addiction, we can begin to change it to a preference. It is natural to prefer easy, fun, enjoyable experiences over difficult, demanding, challenging ones. We also might prefer that others behave in a certain way. When we are attached to what others do or don’t do, it can generate fear that we will be disappointed or hurt or betrayed. Life is what it IS. We often do not have control over outcomes, so when we can shift our addictions to come from the flexibility of a preference, then it is much easier to go with the flow of what is happening, as it is usually beyond our control anyway. What we do have control over is our response.

As we encounter Pluto and Jupiter at Galactic Center once each month, the Moon catalyzes this combination, providing an opportunity for the kind of surrender that opens the space for greater magic to occur. In essence, this is about getting ourselves out of the way and letting Spirit move through us.

Aug 24, Friday. Mercury (10 Virgo) is square Jupiter (10 Sagittarius) expanding the messages of Jupiter’s activation of Antares. It might be helpful to ask…”How can I fully open to receive the encoded cellular wisdom and knowledge that is activating new portals, new edges of experience, new ways of being that are alchemically and cellularly expanding my direct experience of my divine self?”

Today also marks the Heliacal Rise of Venus as a Morning Star beginning a new 584-day cycle of Venus that will last until March or April of 2009. (See Venus Cycle on Articles page.) This Timing is significant for anyone turning a multiple of eight (16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88, 96, etc.) over the next year and a half, as this marks the beginning of an eight-year personal synodic Venus Return. The importance of this eight-year cycle is not well understood in many current systems of astrology.

As we continue to research this cycle in Shamanic Astrology, the importance of tracking Venus is becoming more evident. The Mayans tracked Venus through her entire cycle and left records that were astonishingly accurate. They felt the birth of Venus into the Morning sky was a warrior aspect and a time to set their armies marching for successful conquest. Also secret societies such as the Free Mason recognize the importance of the heliacal rise of Venus as a time for some of their most important ceremonies. The megalithic builders built sites such as New Grange in Ireland to capture the helical rise of Venus near the Winter Solstice that happens every 8 years.

This heliacal rise is during a process of Venus crossing Regulus three times suggesting this Venus cycle is connected to the mysteries of Regulus. The Egyptians had several names for Venus including Hathor and Sekhmet. They were both queens also linking them with Regulus This seems to be an important time to take action furthering what we are intending to create, and activating our intent can be greatly facilitated through ceremony. An especially potent way to tune into this ceremonially is to engage Venus in the eastern morning sky before Sunrise. Also you may want to use a mantra that is linked with Sekhmet and healing practices that use sekhem or sacred power as their foundation. SA (saw – the breath of life) SEKHEM (say-kem - sacred power) SAHU (saw-hu – the realized human)

Aug 25, Saturday. Mercury (11 Virgo) squares Mars (11 Gemini) near Aldebaran. The question asked yesterday still applies today.

The Moon is in Aquarius transmitting the mysteries of the cosmic revolutionary, whose intent is to ultimately revolutionize conscious awareness through living the expressed truth of our divinity. Aquarius pushes for cathartic, liberating, evolutionary change, assisting in unusual and unique ways of breaking down the old forms to break through to greater freedom of being.

Retrograde Venus is opposite Neptune for the second time since June 30. The third and final pass is September 21. Venus and Neptune remind us of the magic and power of love. Love heals everything and love is the answer to every question. Great magic is possible when we allow ourselves to be guided by the power of love. Ultimately, the “power of love” is far more satisfying and liberating than the “love of power.”

Aug 26, Sunday. Vesta makes its exact conjunction to Antares (10 Sag). The asteroid Vesta is one of the largest asteroids in the asteroid belt, as well as being the brightest, and is sometimes even visible to the naked eye from Earth. As one of the Virgin Goddesses, her primary role was the Keeper of the Sacred Flame. In Rome, every city had a public hearth dedicated to Vesta with a fire that was never allowed to go out, as did every home. And yet, there are no statues or pictures of her to be found, nor is she mentioned in any of the Roman myths. She is the Goddess expression of the High Priestess behind the scenes that reminds us of the importance of honoring the sacred nature of life. Vesta has been traveling back and forth over Antares for the last few months, inspiring a sense of the sacred importance of this fixed star, also being spotlighted by the once-in-12-year passage of Jupiter through this area of the sky. This is a time to light the sacred fire within our hearts honoring the Goddess as the Keeper of the Healing Flame. (See Aug 21 and July 1, 16 and 17.)

Aug 27, Monday. The Aquarius Moon conjuncts Neptune (20 Aquarius) continuing to dissolve old forms in unusual and revolutionary ways. What we think and perceive about reality is a construct of our collective dreaming. That construct is in an unstoppable dissolution process because it’s time for something new to emerge. Allowing for this dissolving process and going with the flow of change, eases the transition and helps us contact and create from the field of all possibilities.

Aug 28, Tuesday. The Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse (5 Pisces) is exact at 3:35 AM PDT or 6:35 EDT. The penumbral phase (beginning phase) of the eclipse may be visible from the Americas around Moon set. The beginning of the umbral phase (middle) is visible in North America, South America (except for the extreme east), Antarctica, New Zealand, eastern Australia, and the extreme northeast of Asia. The end of the eclipse is visible in Australia, New Zealand, most of Antarctica, Indonesia, eastern Asia, western regions of North America, the Pacific Ocean and southeastern Indian Ocean.

A Total Lunar Eclipse from our Earth-based perspective occurs when the Earth passes in a direct line between the Sun and the Moon. When visible, the Earth’s Shadow crosses over the face of the Full Moon providing us with an opportunity to visually see all the phases of the Moon, from Full Moon to Full Moon, in about 3.5 hours. This is a rapid acceleration, collapsing what is normally about a 30-day cycle to just over 3 hours.
The lineup of these three celestial bodies, the Sun, the Moon, and the Earth, are like aligning the tumblers in a combination lock, opening a portal to previously unrealized planetary and personal codes. Eclipses accelerate change, clearing, eliminating, releasing, and transforming in ways that assist in greater manifestation of these codes in alignment with our divine design.

A Pisces Lunar Eclipse is about accelerating healthy experiences of radical compassion and kindness for ourselves and others. Radical compassion occurs when we loving accept what IS, without a need to change it, fix it, or make it be different. Acceptance then brings miraculous changes wherever needed; because there is no resistance to what IS, so whatever is ready to change can do so in miraculous ways, often through grace.
This eclipse is occurring near the degree of the Uranus North Node conjunction last March. Uranus entered Pisces on March 10, 2003. The past four years have brought to greater awareness the pitfalls of “addicted giving.” The way to know if you are an addicted giver is to examine your motivation for giving.

.Are you giving because you love and enjoy the process or is your giving driven by guilt? Are you “giving to get” for some later reward in this life or beyond? Are you giving to relieve or avoid feelings of inadequacy? Are you giving or being in service because you don’t know what else to do with yourself, or because you are living from the collective program that says it is more blessed to give than receive? Or…are you giving and being in service for the sheer joy of the experience with no expectations of an additional reward? Do you have as much love and compassion for yourself as you do for those you serve? Uranus is helping to set collective humanity on a new path of compassionate service that includes healthy giving to ourselves as well as to others. This eclipse window further accelerates hidden ways may still be addictively giving catalyzing changes that support our personal evolution and growth.

The four royal stars of ancient times are all active this month. Venus and Saturn continue to be near Regulus, Jupiter stationed direct with Antares and Mars is near Aldebaran. With the Eclipse tomorrow the fourth Royal Star known as Fomalhaut located in the constellation of Pisces Astrinus is with the Moon during the Eclipse.

Fomalhaut marks the mouth of the fish, and is also linked with ArchAngel Gabriel the messenger. This is the area of the sky just below the Water Bearer and the open mouth of the fish is gathering the water droplets or nectar falling from the water jar. In the Chinese cosmology the imagery of Kwan Yin holding the water jar over the dragon's mouth was inspired by this area of the sky.

Tuning into this imagery gives us additional information about what is being accelerated during this ecplise. Eclipses often generate a lot of radical change and for that reason are viewed as scary or negative. The best way to be with these rapidly changing energies is to breathe into our hearts. Staying connected with our heart energy and the essence of compassion that holds the space for whatever IS to be naturally with love...breathing into the fear with awareness, not trying to change it or make it be different than what it is, but just being aware of whatever the feelings are and allowing them space is often what miraculously allows them to simply disappear.

And get ready to ride more waves of change...remembering we can call upon the gifts of compassion to ease our way. The compassion of Kwan Yin is also there if we need it.

Eclipse Details...
The Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse (5 Pisces) is exact at 3:35 AM PDT or 6:35 EDT. The penumbral phase (beginning phase) of the eclipse may be visible from the Americas.

SpaceWeather.com and the LUNAR ECLIPSE--On Tuesday, Aug. 28th, the full Moon will enter Earth's shadow for a 90-minute total eclipse. People on the Pacific side of Earth will have the best view as the Moon turns a dreamy shade of sunset red. Favored areas include the Americas (especially western North America), Hawaii, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, east Asia and Antarctica. The show begins Tuesday morning around 2 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time (0900 UT).

Although the dominant color of a lunar eclipse is red, sometimes another hue appears--turquoise. Earth's shadow has a turquoise-colored fringe caused by our planet's ozone layer, and this can be seen for a few beautiful moments at the onset of totality. Today's edition of spaceweather.com shows you what the turquoise fringe looks like and explains how to catch it.

Also, amateur astronomers are encouraged to assist NASA during the eclipse by scanning the darkened Moon for explosions caused by Helion meteoroid impacts. Typical flashes reach 6th magnitude--easy targets for mid-sized backyard telescopes equipped with digital video cameras. The eclipse is a great time to look for these "lunar meteors." Observing tips and more information are available at http://spaceweather.com.

Full coverage of the eclipse, including maps, animations, timetables and links to live webcasts, begins now on http://spaceweather.com .

Aug 29, Wednesday. Still well within the energy of the yesterday’s Full Moon Eclipse, the Moon meets with Uranus (17 Pisces) early this morning. Being with the energy of radical compassion and dreaming the dreams of a new reality, in the window of the Sirian Stargate that lasts from July through September, it is timely to connect with the dolphins, who according to ancient legends came to Earth from Sirius. Using our imaginations, now is a time for connecting into these magical realities and calling upon the Spirit of the Dolphins to guide our journey. Using the breath is a good way to connect to Dolphin Medicine. Breathing is connected to the Mysteries of Life. Each in-breath is like a rebirth and each out-breath is like a death; thus the breath is teaching us about the rhythm and cycles of life. It may help to take time to be with your breath and allow that to help you connect with Dolphin Medicine. Dolphins hold their breath to swim under water. Doing a process of breathing in and holding it for as long as is comfortable, and then forcefully expelling your breath a few times before entering a meditative state, helps to shift your awareness into your body, releasing tension, and helping you to open to what messages may be available to you now.

Aug 30, Thursday. The Moon moved into Aries late last night or early this morning. This is the realm of the Sacred Warrior who is committed to upholding the cosmic order of life. Aries asks, “What action are we committed to take for the purpose of upholding and protecting the cosmic order of life and bringing our dreams into reality?”

Aug 31, Friday. Sun conjuncts the South Node (7 Virgo) alerting us to the Saturn conjunction with the South Node that will be exact on October 23. The Sun is illuminating the past with the intent to help us move more clearly toward the future. This is a time for throwing what we think we know (especially around living a sacred life) into the fire of the Sun. Releasing all the ways of the past that limit our experience helps us to prepare for the Saturn South Node conjunction in October.
