The more I read about and study how ancient cultures tracked the sky mysteries, the more I understand how important and vital it was for them to maintain a constant connection with this aspect of Great Mystery. Many cultures had specially trained priests or shamans whose job was to keep a constant eye on the sky. This wasn't a monthly thing or a weekly thing. It was every single night, all night long that someone watched the movement of the planets and stars for the benefit of their community and maintaining their balance with the natural order of life.
More and more I am realizing the importance of The Celestial Timings as an offering that keeps an eye on the sky on a daily basis. This is a more modern version of what the ancients did since it is not so easy in our current culture to have someone sit with the sky all night. I am realizing that this means that when anyone reads the Celestial Timings they are assisting in the process of witnessing the Celestial miracles that are unfolding on a daily basis. Plus as each of you connect either visually or through your thoughts and awareness of these Timings you are engaging an ancient practice that benefits you individually as well as the entire collective at this important Turning of the Ages.

I am continually awed at how much writing these Timings is a profound personal initiation working me at deeper and deeper levels with each passing month. I simply do not have adequate words to describe the energy I feel being activated as I write them and then deepened every time I go back and edit them or read them myself and find how perfectly they fit with what is unfolding in my own life. An added bonus for me is the wonderful feedback I receive regarding the experiences many of you share about how these Celestial Timings support and enrich your journey. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the love and support you share with me as we co-create a grounded experience of Celestial Earth, where the Celestial is also embodied in our Earthly experience...

Additional Reflections on the coming Month and the October 14 appearance of the Light Ships.
These Times... get more interesting with each passing month. As I was finishing the writing for the October Celestial Timings I came across several YouTuimage from movie Independence Daybe postings about the Galactic Federation ships appearing on October 14, 2008 seemingly for the purpose of inspiring us, reminding us we have help in these changing times and to give us the hope we need to continue.

Some of the postings said this will only happen if we truly believe it will happen. Others suggested we take cameras where ever we go as a way to be prepared to document this event. I personally would not be surprised either way as I have been hearing about this possibility since the 1980's.

Regardless of the actuality of this information it is stirring excitement judging from the number of You Tube postings I have seen. Regardless of the truth or reality of the Light Ships appearing, what seems most important is that we feel inspired and hopeful especially in light of the disintegration process of our old world structure. It is vital that we do not get lost in feelings of fear, despair, depression, and hopelessness. It may be that in part this economic melt-down is the result of a planned conspiracy as many suggest and at the same time it is what needs to disintegrate for a new form to birth. Keeping in mind the Galactic Alignment and the shifting vibration of the Earth it is clear that this world can no longer support the inequity of the current financial systems and government operations.

With Pluto at Galactic Center along with the many other Celestial Events taking place now we have unprecedented support from the Celestial Realms. The best way for us to participate with these changes is to stay centered in our hearts for the purpose of energizing love and light as that will help to assure the fulfillment of the Hopi prophecies that describe a time of peace, plenty and illumination for all.

As events become more intensified our love and light are more important than ever. It is why we are here at this time and may be the greatest gift we can give this world in fulfilling our divine purpose. Taking time to envision and anchor our light and love in ways that support and assist these planetary and galactic changes will not only help us navigate the intensifying changes but will also assist the global collective. Daily Timings
Oct 01, Wednesday. The Moon conjuncts Venus (10 Scorpio) passing through the third gate from the Underworld (known as the Gate of Personal Power). For those born in an eight year (8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88, 96, 104, etc.) between August 24, 2008 to April 3, 2009 this is an important ceremonial timing designed to reclaim and integrate the fullest experience of healthy personal power including the ability to use the fullest possible expression of your imagination to dream your personal dream into reality. See October 8 for information on Venus conjunction with Zuben Elgenubi [exact Oct 6] and Zuben Alshalmali [exact Oct 9] in the constellation of the Scales.

Venus passing through the third gate and then a few days later through the stargate of the Scales assists in bringing greater balance to the reclamation of healthy personal power in the Divine Feminine expression.

What is healthy personal power? Well first it is NOT about having power over others, influencing, controlling or dominating situations or getting others to do what we want them to do. Healthy personal power is the ability to express who we are in ways that are loving, kind, and supportive and respectful to ourselves and those around us. In our current culture the challenge the feminine principle faces is she is often asked to give her power away in favor of others needs. This includes the needs of the family, the children, her job, and the state of her immediate or global community. When this happens many women (and men learning about their feminine side) wind up not knowing who they are or what they want or need to be fulfilled and happy because they are so busy supporting others in their needs.

As Venus crosses through this gate it is an opportunity to tune into what your desires are and how you might empower yourself in loving, kind, supportive and respectful ways. Then your actions are automatically loving, kind, supportive and respectful to those around you even if they seem resistant at first. When we focus on engaging the experiences that bring us joy, we vibrate with joy as a result and joyful people create a joyful world in the same way green trees create a green forest. Learning how to live from a place of healthy personal power is a gift not only to ourselves but to the world.

Oct 02, Thursday. We are approaching the Sun (10 Libra) conjunction with retrograde Mercury exact on October 6 at the same degree of the Mars Venus conjunction (14 Libra) last month. Mercury stood as a magical witness to the sacred union of Venus and Mars last month. As Mercury returns to this area of the sky due to its retrograde there is an opportunity to receive a deeper message that is related to our inner sacred marriage. What fears, beliefs, traumas, and wounds prevent a genuine authentic truthful relationship with our inner other? What is a healthy dialogue and connection between our sacred feminine and sacred masculine expression within? Are these parts within you feeling heard, acknowledged and safe to be in relationship with the rest of you?

Sky Map of Moon Venus Mars 6:30 pm October 3

Oct 03, Friday. Moon moves into Sagittarius passing through the head of the constellation of the Scorpion and the fixed star Isidis also known as Dschubba. Venus will be located with Isidis by October 19. This star has been referred to as the Eye of the Dragon, also associated with the Goddess Isis. In her book Starwalking, Page Bryant http://www.pagebryant.com says this star’s energy is helping to “propel us into the next millennium.” By Moonrise tonight the Moon will have passed beyond Isidis and is visible approaching the fixed star Antares . The Moon will occult Antares in the early morning hours tomorrow. Currently the Moon is transmitting the mysteries of the spiritual quest intended to expand self-understanding, knowledge, and the meaning of life, while also discovering new ways of experiencing the realm of spirit.

Mars moves into Scorpio until November 15. The last time Mars entered Scorpio was October 23, 2006 when Mars was also conjunct the Sun. Two years later Mars is not yet conjunct the Sun but is close enough to the Sun to not be visible unless you have a very low horizon and very dark skies. Mars will enter the underworld phase of his journey technically around the 12th of this month and will remain in the underworld until early February, 2009.

Not only is Mars approaching his full on underworld initiation, this phase of the journey is beginning in the underworld sign of Scorpio featuring the mysteries of death, rebirth, and regeneration through the ability to surrender attachments to this corporeal (physical) reality. This is an in-between worlds place for the sacred masculine, challenging this generally outward moving energy to shift focus to a more internal transformative process. This means the changes are coming from the inside rather than being initiated from an external or outside behavior.

Oct 04, Saturday. Moon is occulting the royal star Antares (10 Sagittarius) for the last time this year in the early morning hours visible in Africa, Java, and Australia. The Moon is a transmitter amplifying the mysteries of the heart of the Scorpion, watcher of the west, and connected to Archangel Uriel who instructed Enoch giving him 64 keys for the New Heaven and the New Earth. Interestingly, physicist Nassim Haramein, founder of the Resonance Project, discovered the foundation geometry of all creation is a 64 tetrahedron vector equilibrium grid. http://www.theresonanceproject.org/index.html

The ancient system of the I-Ching consists of 64 hexagrams or teachings that speak to the sacred nature of the number 64. In J.J. Hurtak's book The Keys of Enoch the 64 keys are said to be revealing 64 areas of physical and spiritual scientific knowledge. These 64 Keys or Codes are literally the structural basis of our entire creation. Greater awareness and conscious experience of these mysteries are coming to us through the light frequencies emanating from stars such as Antares located near the Galactic Core.

The current series of Moon Occulations over Antares are amplifying these light codes coming from this area of the sky and are helping to accelerate the changes already taking place within our personal and collective DNA. Again a visual connection with the Moon and Antares is a powerful way to tune in to these energies. Journeying and or meditating on the Moon and Antares are also recommended if you cannot visually connect with them.

Oct 05, Sunday. The Moon conjuncts Pluto (28 Sagittarius 41) crosses the Galactic Plane and enters Zero Capricorn at 8:48 pm Pacific Time. Pluto has been hanging out near Galactic Center for the past two years creating a planetary initiation that is designed to bring up our deepest fears and shadow places. When we look at the state of the world and especially the last two years of rising gas prices and the acceleration of the money crisis last month there are very few people who have escaped dealing with their issues around fear of lack, of scarcity, and of dwindling resources. The housing crisis, the bank and stock market crisis, the job crisis, among other factors adds to the crashing value of money and the fear of "not enough" to meet our individual and collective needs. Thank you Pluto for bringing these deep fears up in such a way we cannot ignore them.

Projection of our fear onto others, especially those in positions of authority and control such as the government and corporations whose policies have certainly helped to create the current economic crisis, is an easy way to place blame outside of ourselves. Pluto's job is to create circumstances beyond our control to force us to look at our fears and our shadow places so we can transform them. So rather than projecting our fear onto the situation and those who are seemingly in charge of creating it, we are being asked to look within ourselves. The definition of projection is when we place on others our own undesirable thoughts, feelings and actions meaning it is easier to criticize others than to look at what we are fearing within ourselves.

In addition, the act of projection helps to distract us from our fear and help us to feel superior or righteous as we criticize and judge the behaviors or situations that terrify us the most. The trickiest part of this is most people don't even realize they are projecting their fear.

he best way to work with this is to notice when you are feel judgment toward others, including the government, corporations and the wealthy few. When we are judging others and feeling angry, disdainful, superior, righteous, condemning etc...we are projecting our fear. Judgment usually comes with a desire to punish or make someone pay in some painful way for their unjust behavior. This is when it is important to ask yourself if your experience is coming from an unhealed wound or trauma or something you dislike about yourself?

This is a gift you give yourself as often our reaction to situations outside our control are bringing our own shadow to light. Working with radical forgiveness of ourselves and others helps to transform these shadow places. When we can move out of the fear of what is happening either on a personal or collective level then we begin to experience the strength and power of who we truly are. It is interesting how in the political arena the candidates often use projection and fear to gain support rather than campaigning solely on their vision, passion and strength, inspiring us with what they bring to the job instead of pointing fingers or projecting the issues onto their opponent. The question then worth asking is how are we doing the same thing in our own lives???

Oct 06, Monday. The Sun Conjuncts Retrograde Mercury (14 Libra 24) and both Square Jupiter (13 Capricorn 47. This begins a New Mercury Cycle that will last until the next Sun conjunction with Retrograde Mercury that will take place January 20, 2009. (Interestingly synchronistic with the Presidential Inauguration). Mercury is meeting with the source of light for this World and is receiving a message that will be unfolding until January 20, 2009. Mercury and the Sun are in zodiacal alignment with the fixed star Algorab in the constellation of Corvus, a.k.a as the raven or crow. Mercury is the messenger of the Gods. Corvus and Algorab are linked with Ravens and Crows as the messengers of magic and the sacred laws of how things work in this space-time reality. Therefore, Mercury is receiving a direct transmission from the Source (the Sun) and from this area of the sky. The initial download is taking place now and will continue to be integrated into the new operating system for the next three months.

Venus (15 Scorpio) is exactly conjunct Zuben Elgenubi today and is crossing the cross-quarter degree between the September Equinox of Zero Libra and the December Solstice of Zero Capricorn. (See October 8) The Divine Feminine is receiving a transmission from the stargate that now marks the mid-point of the Samhain seasonal cycle. There is a window of 144 years where15 Scorpio is located with the star Zuben Elgenubi and we are at the center point of the time now. 15 Scorpio marks the time in the seasonal cycle when the veil between the worlds is thinnest and we have greater access to worlds and dimensions that exist beyond that veil. The Sun reaches this degree on November 7 near Samhain. The sacred feminine is crossing this degree is receiving an important transmission that began October 3, is exact today and lasts until October 9.

Oct 07, Tuesday. The Moon Occults the fixed star Nunki (zodiacally located at 12 Capricorn 30) and conjuncts Jupiter (13 Capricorn 52) just before reaching the exact First Quarter Square (14 Capricorn 28) once again highlighting the potency of last month’s Jupiter station with Nunki. The energies that were magnified last month by Jupiter stationing with Nunki just two days before a nearly First Quarter Moon occultation over Nunki are reaching another acceleration point now. There will be two Moon occulations over Nunki next month on Nov 3 and 30.

Anyone with planets or angles between 9 and 15 degrees of Capricorn have a direct connection with Nunki and the planetary energies placing you on the leading edge of this Galactic Nexus transmitting the new Galactic Light Codes directly to Earth in her 13,000 year alignment with the Galactic Plane. 26,000 years ago the December Solstice was aligned at Galactic Center. 13,000 years ago it was the June Solstice that was aligned at Galactic Center. These alignments act as a conduit for upgrading the evolving planetary operating system.

The Moon and Jupiter alignments are maximized yesterday, today and tomorrow meaning there is even easier access as the doorway is opened wide. Locating the Moon and Jupiter and Nunki is a great way to get your own direct connection to these mysteries including an entire inter-Galactic download generating experiences and understanding that goes beyond ordinary reality.

Oct 08, Wednesday. Moon moves into Aquarius energizing the Aquarian humanitarian ideals that are intended to inspire the breakdown of old restrictive systems breaking through to new more expanded states of awareness.

Plus, Venus (17 Scorpio) is sitting between the two most visible stars of the constellation of the Scales, Zuben Elgenubi (15 Scorpio) and Zuben Elshalmali (19 Scorpio). Thus, Venus representing the divine feminine is radically positioned at the balance point in between what has been and what is emerging, in between the old operating system and the new, or between the old and new ways. Having just passed the third gate out of the underworld and retrieved a healthy expression of her personal power Venus is now receiving a transmission designed to further support a total transformation that includes claiming the power and strength of the divine feminine in balance with the power and strength of the divine masculine. This also manifests as the integration of Heart and Mind, Inner and Outer, Above and Below, Heaven and Earth.

Interestingly Zuben Elshamali works with our unconscious minds and Zuben Elgenubi works with our conscious minds so this includes the integration of the conscious and unconscious bringing the unconscious to greater conscious awareness for the purpose of experiencing greater balance and harmony.

Oct 09, Thursday. Venus (19 Scorpio aligned with Zuben Alshalmali) trines Uranus (19 Pisces) activating a portal of radical compassion designed to further transform the magnificent power of the passionate Divine Feminine in her expression as mistress of magic and manifestation. Synchronistically, according to Page Bryant in Starwalking, Zuben Alshalmali is regulated by Sanat Kumara the ascended master from the Planet Venus, who volunteered along with 9,000 other beings to assist the Earth. Zuben Alshalmali is one of the Stars of the Scales that currently represents a doorway between the worlds giving us greater access to these unfolding mysteries. Uranus adds an unpredictable element to this Timing designed to create the greatest amount of freedom for manifesting exactly what is needed to produce radical change in ways that creates greater love and healing for humanity and the planet.

Oct 10, Friday. The Moon occults retrograde Neptune (21 Aquarius) and then moves into Pisces. This means the Moon is covering and uncovering Neptune for the 10th time this year with one more Moon occultation over Neptune on November 6. This series of Moon occultations is rare as it has to do with the 19 year cycle of the Moon aligning with the 165 year cycle of Neptune. Moon occultations are major trigger points activating the mysteries of the planet and the area of the sky where the planet is located. The North Node with Neptune and Chiron has been a major feature of this year. So again this is accelerating the themes of Shamanic Healing through the Celestial Realm of Grace opening a worm hole that considerably shortens the time it takes to move through the ascension process.

One way to work with this is to consciously attune to our compassionate heart space, the holy of holies, the inner secret chambers of the heart that guide and direct our lives when we are choosing to trust and follow our heart-knowing. Heart-knowing or heart directed living is not necessarily logical or rational. Indeed it often may seem completely irrational and illogical and yet when we trust it and act on it magic and miracles are the result.

Oct 11, Saturday. Venus (21 Scorpio) is square retrograde Neptune (21 Aquarius) heightening heart inspired creative, intuitive, dreaming energies. The sacred feminine as sorceress is connecting to the infinite source. This enables her to source, manifest and bring forth her reality through living her passion while also tuning into the intuitive guidance Neptune offers that allows for new visions and dreams and possibilities that otherwise might be missed. This is a time for trusting inner guidance, even when it seems illogical or irrational, as a primary key to manifesting one's heart-felt desires.

Oct 12, Sunday. Jupiter enters a one degree zodiacal alignment with the fixed star Vega www.lairweb.org.nz(the pole star 13,000 years ago) and is exact Oct 21 and 22 staying within one degree until October 28. Vega is the famous star Jodi Foster experiences in the movie Contact and is the brightest star in the constellation Lyra. In addition to being the bright pole star 13,000 years ago, is also one of three main stars of the Summer Triangle, and is one of the magical Behenian Stars meaning that it is most potent when a planet is within 6 degrees of it. Jupiter has been within six degrees of Vega most of this year first passing by in February returning around April 11 and has been within the six degree orb ever since. Jupiter moves beyond 6 degrees of Vega at the end of November 2008.

Vega has also been referred to as "The Vulture Star" or "The Sitting Vulture" and was depicted with a lyre in its beak in the story of Orpheus [the musician who attempted to save his beloved from the underworld]. Upon Orpheus' death Jupiter (Zeus) sent a vulture to rescue the Lyre out of the river and place it in the sky.

In some cultures Vultures are feared and thought to be a bad omen or to cause bad luck. However, in other cultures the Vulture was greatly revered. For example in Egypt, the Vulture Goddess Nekhbet is depicted over doorways marking the entrance to sacred holy space.
The scientific name for the Turkey Vulture is Cathartes Aura or Golden Purifier because Vultures turn death into life, cleaning and purifying the environment in the process. Vultures never kill for food and they rarely have to work at flying but rather soar on the air currents they see rising from the Earth. Vultures are also community creatures, resting and flying together. They also share the dead creatures they find with each other. In this way Vultures purify the land and recycle the dead decaying bodies back into life.

In the high mountains of Tibet the people bury their dead by cutting them up and leaving their parts on rocks as an offering to the Vultures. Part of this journey of Jupiter with Vega is about the alchemical renewal of the Earth now in a Golden Purification process where the old forms are dying and providing the nourishment for the new forms to manifest. Releasing these old forms and symbolically offering them to the Golden Purifiers and learning how to soar on the air currents and to be nourished by the Earth in harmony and balance is the gift we can learn from these great teachers. http://sped2work.tripod.com/totem.html

Elsbeth Ebertin shared this about Vega in her book Fixed Stars and Their Interpretation published in 1923.

In a good cosmic configuration, Vega is supposed to give artistic talents especially for music and acting, but also a liking for good living. With eccentric artists, this may lead to a debauched life. Tied up with Jupiter or Venus, Vega is said to pave the way to riches and fame. However, if other influences play a part, this wealth may be lost again. High success is promised if Vega is positioned on the Ascendant or Mid-heaven. One can find Vega in corresponding aspects in birth charts of statesmen, politicians, persons of importance and influential persons with adequate aspects. In connection with the Moon or Neptune a tendency for occult and mysticism may be given.

Jupiter passes by this area of the sky every 12 years and expands the mysteries of Vega according to our ability to appreciate and integrate these energies.

Oct 13, Monday. Moon moves into Aries opening the Full Moon window bringing to fruition some element of what we are committed to manifesting in our lives especially when we are taking responsibility for our actions and are conscious of what motivates them. If we are motivated by an addiction to perform and produce heroic results by cultural standards then our actions may not be in alignment with our true life purpose. Based on the current myths and stories portrayed in fairy tales, movies and television we are being strongly programmed with a vision of the Hero who has it all together all the time and can save the world from disaster.

Releasing the need to be the hero doesn’t mean we stop accomplishing amazing things in the world. What it means is we refocus our energy - letting go of the addicted hero role and allowing ourselves to live in greater alignment with our soul’s intent. The other issue with the hero model is that many people desire a hero to come and rescue or fix what is wrong with our world. Balancing the hero archetype within ourselves so we take responsibility for what we are creating and allow others to do the same for themselves is the task before many of us at this time.

Oct 14, Tuesday. Today is the Aries Full Moon (21 Aries 51) and Mars disappears from the Evening Sky traveling with the Sun in the underworld for the next four months deeply initiating the masculine principle in the archetypal realm of Cancer where Mars began his sacred journey last December integrating a deeper experience of this archetype in the collective psyche of humanity for the masculine principle. The Cancer archetype in its masculine expression is the Divine Father who has great compassion and may express as the compassionate warrior. Therefore, as Mars travels through the underworld the initiation process is activating an evolution of the Compassionate Warrior at this Turning of an Age. When healthy, the Compassionate Warrior learns to have compassion first for himself and then for all those he encounters.

The Compassionate Warrior does not come from scarcity and a need to compete for what he believes are limited resources, nor does he have a need to dominate others by forcing them to fit into his control based survival program. Instead, the Compassionate Warrior has the courage to learn the art of trusting and accepting his thoughts and feelings as they show up, without trying to fix them. Being willing to allow his feelings to be what they need to be is an important component of compassion towards self and others.

In our current culture, men are programmed to fix things, to take action. The Compassionate Warrior is willing to engage in constructive action intending to promote harmony and cooperation with those he encounters releasing the need to control, predict, or direct the outcome. This simply requires willingness to be present and open-hearted in all actions and interactions with an intention to support the experience of peace and wholeness within self and others in every moment. And now this four month underworld journey begins!

Oct 15, Wednesday. The Moon moves into Taurus and Mercury stations Direct today. The Moon’s movement through Taurus over the next few days energizes the mysteries of gratitude and appreciation as the keys to genuine receivership. Receiving the beauty, intimacy and pleasure of life is essential to a healthy Taurean experience. Healthy receivership begins with a daily practice of gratitude. Gratitude for yourself, your life and the many gifts of beauty around you each moment raises your vibration. Gratitude helps you to notice the wonder and magic that surrounds you each and every day and this in turn increases or multiplies the experiences of gratitude. The frequency of Gratitude multiplies itself meaning the more we are grateful the more gifts we find are drawn to us.

Mercury’s station direct is an opportunity to receive a message that will deepen relationship to yourself, those around you and to all life. Giving advance gratitude for this message, or insight or inspiration ensures you will receive it even if it doesn’t make logical sense right now.

Oct 16, Thursday. The Moon is approaching the Pleiades (29 Taurus) with the occultation in the early morning hours tomorrow, visible in the North Western United States and Eastern Asia. The Pleiades inspire our sense of other worldly mysteries that reach beyond our everyday reality. Having gratitude for the beauty of the Moon approaching this star cluster this morning has the power to transform our hearts and our imaginations.

Oct 17, Friday. The Moon occults the Pleiades as it moves into Gemini visible in the early morning sky. The Moon will be passing through the Sacred Hoop starting today until the early morning hours of Oct 21. Richard Hinkley Allen says in his book Star Names: Their Lore and Meaning that the Pleiades were associated with the “Seven Doves that carried ambrosia to the infant Zeus.”

Doves have many medicine gifts they bring. According to Ted Andrews in his book Animal Speak, doves carry the medicine of the feminine energies of peace, maternity and prophecy. Many cultures and traditions view doves as romantic messengers carrying the medicine of love. Doves are known as "love birds" and are one of the few creatures in the animal kingdom that are monogamous. The males bring their mates the choicest food they can find and both male and female spend many hours grooming each other. With the Moon occulting the Pleiades the song of the doves today is a message of love and prophecy that can help us to see whatever we are giving birth to at this time.

Oct 18, Saturday. Venus moves into Sagittarius until Nov 12 and conjuncts the fixed star Isidis (the eye of the dragon located in the head of the Scorpion...See Oct 3) Venus is also about 10 degrees from Antares, the heart of the dragon or Scorpion, Venus is within 6 degrees of this Behenian Star from October 21 to November 1 with the exact conjunction on October 26 and 27.

Venus in Sagittarius is the feminine expression of the Questing Amazon Adventurer who boldly goes where no one has gone before in search of personal and divine truth, life purpose, and expansion of the self to its widest possible expression. This means the sacred feminine is engaging this quest for meaning, and for spiritual purpose until mid-November. From the eye of the dragon can you see what the current direction of your life is? Are you feeling inspired by new information, new insights, and new ideas? Are you open to seeking greater meaning and understanding in your life experience? Are you open to expanding your sense of knowing and truth?

Moon at the Galactic Cross around 11 pm

Oct 19, Sunday. The waning Moon is passing by the Galactic Cross tonight as it opens the last quarter Moon Window exact in the Early morning hours of Oct 21 telling us the waning Moon will be rising around Midnight and will be visible in the morning sky for most of the morning. Any last Quarter Moon represents a time to integrate the lessons learned from the old cycle and to let go of whatever does not serve healthy movement into the new cycle. This Cancer Last Quarter Moon (10 Cancer) is an excellent time for releasing any old feelings of shame and of not being good enough, and embracing the fact that we are divine children, and our very existence is a great gift that has nothing to do with how much we produce or create.

Oct 20, Monday. Tomorrow the Sun (29 Libra) sextile Pluto (29 Sagittarius) is exact marking a full speed ahead time for Pluto as it is still approaching the degree of its station retrograde last April at 1 Capricorn 09. Pluto reaches this degree on December 28. Any sextile with the Sun finds Pluto in direct motion. In this case Pluto stationed direct last month. The next Pluto sextile to the Sun will occur Feb 21, 2009 (2 Capricorn 49) a few weeks prior to Pluto's station retrograde on April 4, 2009 when Pluto will be at 3 Capricorn 18. Pluto is the slowest moving of the initiatory bodies (no longer considered a planet, yet powerfully transformative nonetheless) taking about 248 years to make one circuit round the Sun from the Earth's perspective.

When Pluto and the Sun reach 60 degrees from each other (a.k.a. a sextile) after the direct station there is a sense of fueling Pluto's mission for bringing about a further integration of the last retrograde cycle while also preparing to move deeply into the new territory. When we allow ourselves to come from acceptance of what IS, accepting all that we are feeling including our angry, hurt, vengeful, confused, less than lovable places most of us carry inside, then we are able to accept and embrace our denied parts and to transform them through radical forgiveness, radical love, and radical acceptance. This is the magic elixir that allows our individual Will or feelings to come into alignment with our individual expression of Spirit.

Oct 21, Tuesday. The Sun sextiles Pluto exact today. (See Oct 20). Today is also the exact Last Quarter Moon at 28 Cancer 27 marking the completion phase of the current Moon cycle integrating the concepts and practices of self-care as the first essential step creating a safe space of peaceful acceptance for ourselves. When we feel peaceful, nurtured and safe then we can extend that nurturing safe space to others. Then the Moon moves into Leo transmitting the mysteries of radical radiant self-love and self approval until Oct 23.

Oct 22, Wednesday. The Sun enters Scorpio traveling through this area of the sky until Nov 21 illuminating the shamanic mysteries of death and rebirth, conscious manifestation, empowered life force energy and conscious Edgewalking. Edgewalkers walk the edges of the old and new ways and are on the leading edge of the birthing ascension process for ourselves and for the Earth. It takes great courage and willingness to be a conscious edgewalker, to be willingly to die to the old and to explore the beyond the edges of what has been moving into new territory, new edges of reality. Successful Edgewalking requires the release of attachments to what has been and embracing what is becoming so we can ultimately birth into the power and magic of who we truly are.

This time of year reminds us of the importance of going further and deeper than we have even gone before into our selves, into our feelings and into our beliefs so that we can love ourselves and our lives more than ever before. In this place of deep and total surrender, acceptance and gratitude for what IS we find empowerment, we find magic, we find miracles and we find a new way to experience a new reality filled with love and gratitude.

It is interesting to note that according to Guy Ottewell's Astronomical Calendar sighting the Annals of the Old Testament by Archbishop James Ussher (1650) the creation of the world began at nightfall on October 22 according to the Julian calendar calculated for 4004 BC. Further information about why this date was chosen is not given and would be worthy of further research as it is more likely that it is an indicator for the beginning of a new age and in this case it was the time when we began recording our current history.

Oct 23, Thursday. The Moon moves into Virgo transmitting the mysteries associated with the pattern of this life and the importance of honoring the natural organic ways of this world including the cycles and seasons. When we are attuned with the pattern as it relates to us personally then our lives flow easily and naturally in the direction of fulfillment and joy. When we are living out of harmony with the natural pattern then we often find resistance and obstacles intended to help direct us in getting back on course. Utilizing the power of prayers, intentions, visualization and the visual connection with the Moon visible in the morning sky are some powerful ways to engage this Timing.

Oct 24, Friday. The Moon conjuncts Saturn (18 Virgo) illuminating what is being restructured within the patterning of life. Spider Woman is receiving wise council about what aspects of the web need reweaving. The questions being asked and answered now are: How can we better care for and honor the sacred expression of the Earth? How do we reweave our web of life so we are living in greater harmony with the natural world and taking responsibility for living in a sacred way that includes sustainability for all life?

Oct 25, Saturday. The Moon moves into Libra crossing the North Galactic Pole and Chiron stations direct (16 Aquarius 02). This Still Point of Chiron is an opportunity to go deeper into the Shamanic Healing process that is designed to shift our assemblage point and radically revolutionize our current reality. Certainly the events of the past few months have already contributed to this process. We might ask how we are living the egalitarian principles that support the freedom of every individual to find their own evolutionary path unencumbered by the morality and beliefs that others might seek to impose?

Oct 26, Sunday. Europeans are setting their clocks back to Standard Time. The rest of the Daylight Savings Time observers are changing their clocks a week from today on Sunday November 2.

Mercury (16 Libra) squares Jupiter (16 Capricorn) for the third time since September due to it’s retrograde cycle. (See October 6) We might ask - What inspiring messages around conscious equal partnership and relationship with the global community are being expanded in this world of form? The conjunction of Venus, Mars and Mercury square to Jupiter last month was part of the energy connected to the shake up around our relationship to the Money Mysteries and the collapsing financial systems. These systems are not based in equal partnership but have been set up to benefit the greedy few at the expense of the greater majority. One aspect of this Timing is about bringing our awareness to the importance of balance in all our relationships including our financial relationships for the purpose of creating an equal distribution of wealth and well-being for all people.

Oct 27, Monday. Mars (16 Scorpio) sextiles Jupiter (16 Capricorn) as we enter the New Moon window exact tomorrow. Jupiter is visible toward the western horizon after Sunset and Mars is now traveling with the Sun. This timing is expanding awareness around the importance of the sacred masculine finding nurturing vital ways to live and express passion and purpose.

Oct 28, Tuesday. The Scorpio New Moon (5 Scorpio 54) is aligned with the fixed star Khambalia (7 Scorpio) located on the left foot of the Virgin Priestess. Vivian Robson tells us Khambalia is a Coptic word meaning 'crooked-clawed' thought to be linked with a healthy version of the swastika symbol indicating the ability to go deeply into the secrets of life.
This Scorpio New Moon is 10 days from the exact Samhain Cross Quarter between the September Equinox and the December Solstice and is the New Moon the Hindus celebrate as Mahalakshmi.Lakshmi is the Great Goddess of Love, Beauty and Abundance. (See November 2007 archives and the Lakshmi Prayers in the Articles section).

With this Shaman's New Moon located near Khambalia in the Virgin Priestess we also have a transmission from this star of Secret Knowledge. The root word of Khambalia is linked with the word Shamballah the place used to describe Heaven on Earth. Thus, this New Moon is a time for planting the seeds of the New Shamballah, the New Heaven existing on the New Earth that includes peace, plenty and illumination for all!

It is mentioned in various ancient texts including the Kalachakra and the ancient texts of the Zhang Zhung culture which pre-dated Tibetan Buddhism in western Tibet. The Bon scriptures speak of a closely-related land called Olmolungring.

Oct 29, Wednesday. Moon conjuncts Mars (17 Scorpio between Zuben Elgenubi and Zuben Elshamali in the constellation of the Scales). This conunction is not visible due to Mars being with the Sun in the Underworld phase of the Mars journey. It is possible there may be a tiny crescent Moon visible tonight just after Sunset if you have a low horizon line. However, Mars is not visible as it passes through the gateway stars of the Scales. The Scales represent Justice (what Just IS), the balance point between yin and yang, male and female, and Heaven and Earth. These stars of the Scales form a gateway, or a shamanic pathway between the worlds, accessing other realms and dimensions for the purpose of experiencing greater wholeness and awareness of our multidimensional selves.

Mercury trines Neptune energizing the mystical realms of inner knowing and guidance as we learn new ways to navigate in a rapidly changing world. The old system is lost in confusion and uncertainty and it may take some time for a new more balanced system to emerge from the dust of the old.

Oct 30, Thursday. The Moon moves into Sagittarius and is visible near Antares tonight for the second time this month though this time the Moon is NOT occulting Antares. However, the Moon is a transmitter and is transmitting the mysteries of this royal star also known as "The Watcher of the West". The ancients believed Antares had the power to bring great success but could also be the cause of a great undoing or downfall if driven by obsessive excess. The Antares stargate near Galactic Center and the Golden Gate of “Sagittarius” (not the sign but the stars located in this area of the sky) is where the souls of humanity ascend away from this realm. Thus as we approach the Cross-Quarter that honors the lives of those who have died this ascension portal or stargate is open and easier to pass through.

Oct 31, Friday. Happy Halloween! Mars (19 Scorpio near Zuben Elshamali) is trine Uranus (19 Pisces) creating the opportunity for an unexpected dramatic assemblage point shift through radical surrender to the Will of the Divine. Mars in Scorpio is the powerful shaman sorcerer who knows their greatest power originates from alignment with Divine Source or www.history.com/minisites/halloween/Divine Will. So once again we are reminded of the power of surrender and trust.

Halloween originated as an outgrowth of ancient Celtic Cross-Quarter festival called Samhain (pronounced sow-in) that marked their New Year. This was the time of the final harvest of the year and the time for honoring the Dead. Halloween was their celebration of the ancestors and those who died during the previous year. Individual hearth fires were extinguished and a community bonfire was lit. The people dressed in animal skins and heads and danced about the fire. When the party was over they re-lit their personal hearth fires.

Some Roman traditions were adopted during the time of the Roman occupation of the Celtic lands. Then came the influence of Christianity and the designation of Nov 1 as All Saints Day by Pope Boniface IV in an attempt to replace the Celtic Festival that celebrated the Dead. This was originally called All-hallowsmas (coming from Middle English meaning All Saints Day).
