Greek image of kairos Kairos is an ancient Greek word meaning the right or opportune moment. The ancient Greeks had two words for time, chronos and kairos. Chronos refers to chronological or sequential time, and kairos signifies a time in between, a moment of undetermined duration in which something special happens. While chronos is quantitative, kairos has a qualitative nature. http://www.reference.com/browse/Kairos

Chronos in Greek mythology, was depicted in Greco-Roman mosaics as a man turning the Zodiac Wheel, sometimes referred to as Aeon or Eternal Time. In http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d2/Chronos,sleeping_on_Wolff_grave-ME_fec.jpgpre-Socratic philosophical works Chronos is said to be the personification of Time. His name actually means "time," and is alternatively spelled Khronos (transliteration of the Greek) or Chronus (Latin version). http://www.reference.com/browse/chronos

Sacred Time…
Embracing the sacred nature of Time can shift our understanding and experience. Time has many multiple layers and dimensions; some are more familiar than others. There are “Time out of Time” experiences that do not fit into what we consider ordinary reality where Time can stand still, elongating in mysterious ways or time moves more quickly than usual. Most of us are familiar with ordinary Time measured by a clock. There is the Time of day or night, the week, the month the year. The time when we work, play, socialize, learn, eat, rest etc. There is also where we are on the timeline of our life whether young or old or somewhere in-between. This kind of Time also measures the beginning, middle and end of events.

working with time http://ccphysics.us/henriques/a105l/sclock.gif Time seemingly moves in a linear fashion. We experience our lives from the perspective of past, present and future orientations of Time. Some say the only Time is NOW, however, we do have memories of the past and visions of the future. The Greeks referred to this more linear experience of Time as Chronos the root word for chronology or a sequential arrangement of events sometime referred to as a Timeline or a chronicle. This is connected to what we call clock time and that has become our primary experience of time as our culture has have moved away from a more sacred relationship to Time.

Kairos was another word the Greeks used to describe an experience of Time. Kairos time is sacred time or time that is fluid, flowing, in the moment, in the creative process. It refers to an experience that takes us outside of clock time, where we are fully absorbed in the moment and no longer aware of the passing of time. It is eternal and outside the experience of past and future. In kairos time there are no questions, it is a perfect sacred eternal moment beyond the limits of ordinary reality. There are moments when we spontaneously slip into Kairos time often we are not expecting it, or we can connect with sacred time through ceremony, meditation, dance, chanting, journeying, or any creative pursuit that expands or suspends our experience of the passing of chronos time.

It seems that we are now, more than ever in recent memory, experiencing a greater merging between Chronos and Kairos time. Chronos has greatly speeded up. It seems to be moving faster and faster as the days go by. This means many are finding it essential to find ways to somehow suspend the experience of time from the chronos perspective and to engage kairos or sacred time where all the timelines are converging and transforming into a new dimensional reality beyond anything previously experienced here on Earth. Much of this is reflected by the multitude of rare and powerful planetary alignments that remind us we are NOT in an ordinary Time.

The Philosopher's Stone

The Mysteries of Time and the Philosopher’s Stone
This realization is connected to alchemy and the Philosopher’s Stone a substance thought to facilitate transmutation of base elements into Gold or an elixir for enlightenment and eternal life. In his book The Forge and The Crucible, The Origins and Structures of Alchemy, Mircea Eiliade speaks to the transformative power found outside of ordinary time. He says:

The Philosopher’s Stone realized this miracle (alchemy) as it eliminated the interval of time which separated the present condition of an imperfect (crude) metal from its final perfected condition when it would become gold. The stone achieved transmutation almost immediately - it superseded time.

http://farm1.static.flickr.com/146/376826817_72166a6839.jpgWilliam Henry speaks about this in his DVD The Anointing of the Dove and says:

When we remove the interval of time between our thoughts and actions and stay centered in love that is the Philosopher's Stone. Staying centered in Love is the key to successfully riding the waves of these rapidly changing

Times because love operates in kairos time or sacred time or a place outside of Time as we know it.

Time and Prophecies
the flower of lifeProphecy exists in Time as well. Some say that dire prophecies warning of calamitous events are successful prophecies if they do NOT occur because people change the course of Time through their thoughts and actions. The same is true for wondrous prophecies, however, these are successful when they are fulfilled because we have focused our thoughts and actions on fulfilling them. We are living in a Time when there are many prophecies telling us of a New Earth, the end of Time as we know it and the birth of a Golden Age is imminent. Interestingly this month August 15 is the date given in the Waitaha Prophecy as a Time for a…

…beginning of a new human dream, a dream almost identical to the Mayan belief that the heavens will open and our brothers and sisters of the universe will reveal themselves. ~Drunvalo Melchizedek

Visible Planets (These are the highlights for this month with more details and interpretations shared in the Daily Timings)

Invisible Planets

August Night Sky
Perseid Meteor

The best meteor shower of the summer is the Perseids visible from July 25 to August 18 with the peak days occurring August 10-13. This year provides good visibility during the peak of this meteor shower due to the waning Moon. The Perseids come from the constellation Perseus rising between 9 and 10 pm in the North East. These meteors comes from the dust and debris left by the comet Swift-Tuttle reaching up to an impressive reach 80 meteors an hour at maximum. Photo of A Perseid fireball photographed August 12, 2006, by Pierre Martin of Arnprior, Ontario, Canada. [Larger image]

The Archer (a.k.a. Sagittarius) and the Scorpion are two prominent constellations worth checking out during the summer months in the Northern Hemisphere. The Archer is shaped like a bow and arrow though many current day star maps show it as a Tea Pot. The archer is aiming its bow directly at Galactic Center and also points to Antares, the heart of the Scorpion. The Archer is similar to Centaurus in sharing the half man, half beast motif. Centaurus is the constellation located below the Scorpion and only visible in latitudes further south around 32 degrees north all the way to the equator and beyond.

The Scorpion is one of the largest constellations in the sky and with its curved tail clearly looks exactly like a Scorpion in mid-northern latitudes. In Hawaii, however this constellation rises up looking like a fish hook and so the native Hawaiians refer to this constellation as Maui’s Fish Hook. Story

The constellation Lyra (visible from April to October) named for the Harp or Lyre invented by Hermes and given to Orpheus, the magician that entertained the Argonauts in their search for the Golden Fleece. Although this is a dim constellation, the 5th brightest star in the sky, Vega, is located here. Vega was the pole star 13,000 years ago and will be the pole star again in 13,000 years. Vega is also one of the three bright stars marking the summer triangle. Lyra is the radiant, or origin point, for the Lyrids meteor shower which occurs every year between April 16 and 25.

Also according to Guy Ottewell’s Astronomical Calendar, August and September are the best time of year to see the zodiacal light (sometimes mistaken as the atmospheric glow of dawn) about 1-2 hours before dawn. This is the “false dawn” mentioned in the Rubaiyat of Omar Kayyam.

Daily Timings
Aug 01, Saturday. Today marks the traditional August Cross-Quarter (the actual zodiacal cross-quarter is August 7) or Lammas, also known as Lughnassadh: (pronounced Loo-nuh-suh) meaning harvest and victory. For the Irish this was the time to celebrate their Sun God, Lugh, and the skills of the warrior and the craftsmen. Lugh replaced the Sun Goddess of the ancient world when the celebrations were about giving thanks for the abundance of ripened grain and the Mother’s bounty. The February cross-quarter celebrates the Mother’s power to give life, the May cross-quarter celebrates her passion and the November cross-quarter celebrates her power to live through death and be born to new life. We no longer remember the ways of the original grain festival so it is up to us to create something new.

Lughnassadh was the first of three harvest festivals celebrating the plentiful ripening grain and the prosperity of the land and people. The Christian religion adopted this celebration and called it 'Lammas', meaning 'loaf-mass', a time when newly baked loaves of bread were placed on the altar. For more information about Lammas go to http://www.whitemtns.com/~tarna/lammas.html

The waxing out -of-bounds Moon is passing through the late degrees of Sagittarius and Facing east in early dawn is visible in the constellation of the Scorpion approaching the Galactic Cross near Galactic Center as Venus (1 Cancer) reaches opposition to Pluto (1 Capricorn).

Venus entered Cancer yesterday and is still near the Galactic Cross at the Galactic edge. Venus travels through the Cancer domain until August 26. The archetypal leading edge of the feminine principle expressing through Cancer is that of the great mother. As Venus travels through Cancer, she is discovering how these energies serve the Aries overtone of the current Venus cycle.
Here is Venus at the Galactic Cross just beyond the Horns of the bull and approaching the feet of the Twins.

Sky & Telescope diagram

From April 3, 2009 to November 4, 2010 Venus is seeking to answer the question of her Aries incarnation. She is the fiercely wild Amazon warrior now being called to find new ways to defend and protect her family, her tribe, and the Earth. Traveling through the Cancer domain this fierce warrior is encountering the energy of the Great Mother and the reminder that to be an effective defender and protector of the cosmic order she must include healthy forms of self-nurturing and self-care basic to a genuine, authentic self-expression. The opposition to Pluto brings to light any fears or shadow issues that stand in the way so they can be transformed into medicine.

Aug 02, Sunday. Today in Central America, in the town of Cartago, Costa Rica, La Negrita, a small black Virgin statue found by a young girl in 1635 is greatly honored and celebrated. La Negrita demonstrated magical powers by always mysteriously returning to the spot where it was first found. Eventually a church was built on that spot where La Negrita resides to this day. On August 2, Pilgrims from all over Central America journey to honor her. La Negrita http://www.isls.com/costarica/destination/cartago.html

Still reaching about 3 degrees beyond the maximum declination of the Sun (23.5) the waxing out-of-bounds Moon (26.5 degrees maximum south declination sometime yesterday and at 26 degrees today) is near the Galactic Center where the plane of the Solar System and the Plane of the Galaxy intersect. The Moon then is reaching beyond the farthest southern point the Sun can rise, beyond the bounds of ordinary reality, and transmitting the light codes and information that is coming in from the great black hole at the center of our Galaxy. An international team of Scientists found there were radiating high-energy gamma rays coming from the Black Hole at the Center of the Galaxy. (See 2004 Science Daily article and for those who like more science this is from a 2006 workshop.)

Also today Mercury is .59 degrees NNE of Regulus as it passes into Virgo until August 25. Looking west in bright twilight Mercury passes by the heart of the Lion once each year transmitting the messages from this area of the sky intended to reconnect us with the power of pure, courageous heart-centered love helping to restore the sacred balance between spirit and matter and between the seen and unseen worlds. According to the astrology software program, Solar Fire, Regulus is currently located at 29 degrees and 58 minutes of Leo.

Synchronistically Regulus moves into the sign of Virgo for the first time since about 24,000 years ago in 2012. Regulus entered the sign of Leo in 156 BCE meaning Regulus has been overlaid by the sign or season of Leo for 2178 years. 2012 is when the season of Virgo begins to overlay the star Regulus.

When we are talking about Leo and Virgo we are talking about the seasonal signs, NOT the constellations. Regulus will still be located in the Lion (a.k.a Leo) but again NOT the seasonal sign of Leo as the seasonal sign is determined by measuring the degrees from the Equinoxes and Solstices. I have seen several internet posts wondering about how Regulus will move into the constellation of Virgo because they do not understand there is a difference between signs and constellation. Again, the problem began during the dark ages when humanity forgot about the difference between signs and constellations and named them both the same names creating the current day confusion.

That is why Shamanic Astrology calls the constellations by their other name to reduce the confusion. For example, instead of saying Virgo for the constellation we refer to the Virgin Priestess, or instead of saying Leo we say the Lion as a way to distinguish the constellations from the seasonal signs. The main thing to be aware of is Regulus is shifting energy as a new seasonal sign overlays it and that just so happens to occur in 2012 along with the May 20, 2012 Annular Solar Eclipse conjunct the Pleiades and the rare Venus transit June 6, 2012 completing an eight year window that won’t come again for 105 years.

Aug 03, Monday. Transformational Messenger Mercury (1 Virgo) is trining transformational initiator Pluto (1 Capricorn) illuminating the shadow thought process that has brought humanity to such a precarious reality including massive pollution and social inequities that are threatening the well-being of our beloved Earth. Some questions worth asking are: What are the fears that have allowed this situation to develop? What are the greedy corporations reflecting back to us in regard to the lack or deficiency we experience within ourselves? Forgiving ourselves and those who are actively polluting the Earth while also taking action to do our part to live in ways that are green and sustainable helps facilitate the radical transformation needed to co-create the New Earth.

Aug 04, Tuesday. The Moon moves into Aquarius transmitting the mysteries of the radical revolutionary whose ideas and actions are intended to further the cosmic evolution of all life. This opens the Full Moon window as we move to the third and final eclipse in this series that started on July 7. This past month has further compressed our experience of time, especially with the Total Solar Eclipse of July 21/22 compressing the experience of a 24 hour day into just over 6 minutes. The Lunar Eclipse tomorrow is only a penumbral eclipse meaning there isn’t much to see as only the outer edge of the Moon is darkened. In a total Lunar Eclipse the 29.5 day cycle of the Moon from Full Moon to Full Moon is compressed into somewhere around three hours. The compression or collapsing of Time through these eclipse experiences further support the emerging theme of our rapidly and drastically changing relationship with Time. (See this month’s Introduction)

Aug 05, Wednesday. The Full Moon Aquarius Penumbral Lunar Eclipse (13 Aquarius 43) is exact at 5:55 pm PST.http://www.mreclipse.com/LEphoto/TLE2004Oct/image/TLE2004-014w.JPG The beginning penumbral eclipse can be seen in Africa, the Middle East, Europe, western Russian, western Asia, South America (except the extreme East) Queen Maud Land Antarctic, the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. The end of the eclipse may be visible in South America and North America.

This Cross-Quarter Aquarius Full Moon has long been considered visionary and inspirational assisting in connecting humanity to the cosmic overview that often inspires radical revolutionary ideas and actions intended to produce evolutionary results. If you have planets, nodes or angles between 8 and 18 degrees of Aquarius this eclipse is a personal acceleration placing you on the leading edge of what is being activated. Any planets or angles in the Signs of Self-Interest (Aquarius, Leo, Scorpio and Taurus) within these degrees may also feel the impact of these eclipse energies. Collectively the energies and alchemy produced in this Eclipse Cauldron that began on July 7 are now ready to move forward into the world. This may be good news for many who have been experiencing a state of suspension or standstill over the past month or more.

Pluto is also returning to Zero degrees and 59 minutes of Capricorn today and will station on September 11 at Zero degrees and 39 minutes of Capricorn the closest station of Pluto to the December Solstice degree in 248 years. Pluto is starting to slow its retrograde process moving only 20 minutes between now and September 11. So if you have planets or angles between zero and 4 degrees of Capricorn you are on the leading edge of this initiatory energy. This is a time for inner reflection on the fears and unresolved emotions of anger, hurt, betrayal, etc. that are holding you back from living the fullest expression of your authentic self. Embracing these feelings with love and acceptance is the key to transforming them into your strength and the medicine you carry. Pluto at GC

Aug 06, Thursday. The Moon conjuncts Jupiter (23 Aquarius) visible 3.1 degrees NNW of Jupiter, Chiron and (24 Aquarius), Neptune (25 Aquarius) acting as an amplifier for this triple conjunction that continues to be a strong force of initiatory energy through the end of this year. When the Moon comes along to energize this planetary lineup it amplifies the possibility of experiencing events of “extreme novelty” especially when we consider we are still well within yesterday’s eclipse energy suggesting perhaps that we are on another threshold or Event Horizon that could drastically alter our current reality through unpredictable, unexpected experiences that originate outside the realm of anything we have currently imaged. It helps to remember that whatever is happening is divinely orchestrated from a place of wisdom intended to maximize our evolutionary experience. TRUST the process, go with the flow, release attachments to outcome and know whatever is happening is divinely guided. (see August 31)

Aug 07, Friday. Today the Sun (15 Leo), reaches the exact astrological Cross-Quarter (15 Leo), between the June Solstice and September Equinox. The days are growing shorter, though still longer than the nights, and Autumn is just around the corner. In ancient times, the Cross-Quarter dates between the Equinoxes and Solstices were celebrated as the “border time” or “in-between time,” the mid-point in-between two seasons, and was a time for gaining insight and/or inspiration beyond the limits of ordinary time. With the Moon moving into Pisces transmitting the mysteries of the mystical dreamer in this in between point it is an excellent time for divination, meditation, journeying and connecting with other forms of guidance.

Aug 08, Saturday. 8/8 Lion’s Gate. The Sun (16 Leo) is located in the constellation of the Lion closely conjunct the fixed star Alterf located in the Lion’s mouth. (See August 10) Gillian MacBeth-Louthan has been writing about this as the 8/8 Lions Gate - see article . Last year this date marked 08/08/08 and was referred to as a Galactic Time Gate. The number 8 is the sign or symbol for infinity and perhaps this year as we experience the 8/8 date it is worth considering how our relationship to time and infinity is progressing.

Next month is the 09\09\09 Time gate as described by Simeon Chiron Nartoomid of Spirit Heart Sanctuary. On September 9th, 2009 we will pass through the last 999 time gate within the old paradigm reality of the Earth! Each 999 time gate is a centennial event occurring only once every 100 years. The sequence of 999 time gates was originally activated as a harmonic series by the Illumined Ones in 12391 B.C. using our current calendar as a reference. As of September 9th, 2009 we will have thus passed through 144 of these 999 time gates since their inception spanning 14,400 years of Earth time.

The 999 time gates are micro-bursts of higher dimensional cosmic energy that have that have been slowly but surely preparing us for total inversion of the 666 harmonics into the 999 harmonics as a collective consciousness. Read more

Aug 09, Sunday. The Pisces Moon conjuncts Uranus amplifying the possibility of unpredictable events and experiences that expand our compassion for the challenges we encounter on this rapidly changing evolutionary journey.

Regulus

Aug 10, Monday. The Sun reaches 17 Leo 52 making its exact alignment with the fixed star Alterf at the mouth of the Lion. According to Richard Hinkley Allen in Star Names, Their Lore and Meaning Alterf translates as “’glance’ i.e. of the lion’s eye”, though on modern star maps this star is found in the open mouth of the Lion. Remembering the Lion in the Great Above is linked to the Sphinx in the Great Below and Lions are symbolic guardians of the doorways, or portals, to the treasures of knowledge and understanding within the Hall of Records we all carry within us. With the Sun illuminating this area of the sky, we might ask; “What portal or doorway is open for us to cross through?” The Sun is a doorway to these mysteries and records of knowledge including our origins and our destiny.
Mars (21 Gemini) squares Saturn (21 Virgo) suggesting this is a time for practical, grounded, and effective action that is also playfully ceremonial and reverently irreverent.

Aug 11, Tuesday. The Moon moves into Taurus transmitting the mysteries of the Garden of Earthly Delight. In Ceanne DeRohan’s book Right Use of Will there is a section that Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Boschdescribes this Earthly paradise that is still encoded within our DNA and ready to be actively expressed once again. Here are a few of the images from the book to inspire your own memory of this idyllic time…

…no one had to earn a living; everything sprang forth without effort. Every need was met by simply desiring it to be met, and the form in which it was met often surprised and delighted the Spirits there. For example, a Spirit only needed to say, “I am hungry,” and something delicious to eat would appear, often time in a form that had never been seen before. If a Spirit wished to bathe, a pool at just the favorite temperature would appear having all the things about it that the Spirit particularly liked. If a group of Spirits wished to swim, the pool would have everything everyone wanted.

In the beginning, all Spirits could change forms and though some had more mastery at this than others, all could do it…if later there was a desire to fly, wings would appear….

Aug 12, Wednesday. According to some sources August 13 is an important day in Mayan Cosmology considered to be the time for honoring the classic Maya Creation Day. It is also the day that marks a Solar Zenith transit for those located around 14 degrees and 48 minutes North Latitude. This means at this latitude the Sun is located directly overhead at Noon and vertical objects cast no shadows. This is similar to the pyramid Kukulcan at Chichen Itza when the Sun reaches its Zenith on May 20. Zenith points are also experienced at the June 22 Solstice on the Tropic of Cancer and at the December 22 Solstice on the Tropic.

On the equator the zenith transits of the Sun divide the year into two equal halves. Between the equator and the Tropic of Cancer, the zenith transits of the Sun divide the year into a longer portion with the Sun transiting to the south of the zenith, and a shorter portion with the Sun transiting to the north of the zenith. The opposite is true for the Tropic of Capricorn. The transit of the Sun from August 13 to April 30 when the Sun is transiting south of the zenith on the Tropic of Cancer is about 260 days connecting this zenith cycle with the Venus cycle. This link is due to how Venus spends 260 days first as a morning star and then 260 days as an evening star and was a very important connection to Mayan way of tracking time. This also lends credibility to August 13 as the classic Maya Creation Day. http://www.authenticmaya.com/calendar.htm

Some researchers suggest August 13, 3114 BC is as precise and accurate a starting date for the beginning of current day history as one can get when considering the first Egyptian dynasty is dated to ca 3100 BC; the first 'city,' Uruk, in Mesopotamia, also ca 3100 BC; the Hindu Kali Yuga, 3102 BC. Most interestingly, the division of time into 24 hours of 60 minutes each and each minute into 60 seconds [and the division of the circle into 360 degrees] came into use around 3100 BC, in Sumeria.

Plus, also worth noting is at dawn on August 13 the constellation Orion is at the zenith (directly overhead) and the Milky Way is visibly erect over the Earth. This same phenomenon is repeated in reverse at sunset on February 5. This is yet another factor drawing our attention to the importance of August 13.

Aug 13, Thursday. Mars (22 Gemini) trines Jupiter (22 Aquarius) inspiring activities that take us beyond ordinary reality and the experiences of duality. Plus the Taurus Last Quarter Moon (21 Taurus) is located near the area of the sky where Venus and Mars had their sacred joining at the June Solstice. This Last Quarter Moon is illuminating what we value and appreciate in ourselves and in the world. Savoring and enjoying the beauty and gift of life is the one of the highest expressions of the Taurus Mysteries. This return threshold of the Moon’s journey as it prepares for a New Moon on August 20 is an opportunity to slow down, relax, breathe deeply, and fully absorb, synthesize and appreciate the power that beauty has to bring joy into our lives. Beauty is everywhere, in every moment – and allowing beauty to gently inform a new world experience for us connects us to eternity as described in the quote below.

Beauty is elusive; it is as fleeting and as difficult to capture as it is to define. Beauty is commonplace; it is a presence so pervasive that each cloud is crowned with it; every sunset is casually, even recklessly, awash in it. Beauty is rare; it is a treasure so precious it is beyond the measure of price. Beauty is eternal; it yields as little to time as it does to place. Anonymous http://www.zender.com/html/beauty_body.html

Aug 14, Friday. The waning Last Quarter Moon occults the Pleiades in the morning sky (if you are up early) visible in North America moving into Gemini at 3:25 am Pacific Time. The Moon has occulted the Pleiades 5 times already this year and counting today’s occultation passes over the Pleiades six more times by the end of the year. Occultations accelerate the energy of the star or stars it is passing over, covering and uncovering the deep hidden mysteries when we are open to receive them. See the 2009 archives May 1, 6, 13, 18, 20, 23 and 30 for more details about the Pleiades.

Sun (22 Leo) opposes retrograde Jupiter (22 Aquarius) marking the center point of Jupiter’s retrograde cycle. Jupiter will station direct Oct 12/13 depending on your time zone. This means Jupiter is rising as the Sun is setting. Whenever a planet is retrograde it signals the time it is brightest and closest to the Earth and when it reaches opposition to the Sun that planet is visible in the sky all night - setting as the Sun rises. This means we have the greatest amount of time available to us to connect with this planet visually. For those who have any planets or angles in Aquarius especially around the mid-degrees of Aquarius you are feeling this Timing more personally as Jupiter intends to bring a renewal of vision to our middle world experience that is expansively innovative and cosmically inspired. For those entrenched in limited perspectives this may prove to be a challenging time intended to stretch you into new and unfamiliar territory.

Aug 15, Saturday. For many Catholics August 15 is the celebration of the Assumption of From: The Life and Revelations of St. Gertrude the Great the Virgin Mary thought to overlay even more ancient festivals from pre-catholic Times that honored the divine feminine. (see Celestial Timings Archives August 2007 and 2008)

And…today marks the beginning of the Annual World Congress on Illumination in Tucson, Arizona. This event will take place August 15-20, 2009, during the 22nd anniversary of the Harmonic Convergence and is being held within the heart of the Portal of Healing Through the Power of Infinite Transmutation located in Ventana Canyon. This Portal of Light in Tucson, Arizona, is where the Flame of Healing Through the Power of Infinite Transmutation is projected from the core of Creation into the center of the Earth. From the heart of Mother Earth, this Sacred Fire expands through the Crystal Grid System to bless all Life. To link in consciousness with this intent and for more information see Patricia Diane Cota-Robles New Age Study of Humanity's Purpose website

And as stated in the introduction - today is the day of the Waitaha prophecy told to Drunvalo by a New Zealand Waitaha elder. Drunvalo shares this in his book Serpent of Light saying

...the Waitaha prophecy predicts a pivotal moment in history on Aug 15, 2009. This event may or may not be known publicly, but it will be the beginning of a new human dream, a dream almost identical to the Mayan belief that the heavens will open and our brothers and sisters of the universe will reveal themselves. ~Drunvalo Melchizedek

Here is an interesting interview with a Waitaha elder.

... We are Waitaha. We are the water containers of the Creator therefore we have been imbued with the many forms of waters containing the many gifts of all that is in the Universe" ... p. 147 Whispers of Waitaha and http://www.waitaha.org/ ha.html

The waning Moon is visible approaching Mars this morning and will be about 3 or 4 degrees beyond Mars (23 Gemini) in the early morning hours tomorrow. The exact Moon Mars conjunct is at 7:56 pm Pacific Time tonight but is not visible in the Western World at that time.

The Galactic Cross at the Galactic Edge between Bull and Twins

Aug 16, Sunday. If you are up before the Sun you will see the waning crescent Moon just past Mars near the Center of the Sacred Hoop. At 6:13 am the waning out-of bounds Moon (26 degrees North declination) moves into Cancer crossing the Galactic Cross near the Galactic Edge. The Moon is transmitting the mysteries of the divine parents who lovingly create a safe space for their children to show up and be who they are in ways that are divinely authentic. Part of the evolution of these mysteries at this time is to remember that the only way we can truly help others and create that safe space for them is if we know how to create that for ourselves first.

Aug 17, Monday. Sun (24 Leo) sextiles Mars (24 Gemini) meaning Mars is now 60 degrees from the Sun in the morning sky. This is worth noting as Mars is approaching its next retrograde beginning on Dec 20, 2009. Mars will go retrograde at 20 Leo very near the degree the Sun is today. Mars is nearing the end of its 26 month journey that began in December of 2007 and is in the growth of wisdom phase preparing to enter the Elder Wisdom phase on August 25 when Mars re-enters Cancer where the current journey began. This represents a mature Mars who has been integrating his initiation into the evolving mysteries of ensuring the future generations will continue by creating nurturing, loving, safe expressions of home and family.

Also today Mercury passes 2.9 degrees SSW of Saturn about 26 degrees from the Sun and may be visible low on the western horizon after Sunset. Saturn and Mercury are setting about an hour after the Sun. This is the first of 3 Mercury passes by Saturn due to Mercury’s retrograde next month. Saturn moves slowly taking about 2.5 years to move through one sign. Mercury moves fast speeding through many signs in as little as 15 days however because Mercury is going retrograde next month it will pass by Saturn for a second time around the Equinox and the third and last time this year on October 7. Saturn represents matter and Mercury represents the mind summed up in this Haiku from Wes Nescar’s book Crazy Wisdom.

What is Mind?
No matter. What is Matter?
Never Mind.

Plus the Sun (25 Leo) opposes Neptune (25 Aquarius) marking the mid-point of Neptune’s Retrograde journey that lasts until November 4 taking us deeper into the mysteries governing ideals, visions, dreams, intuitive guidance, and the place where dreams become reality. Neptune is a Celestial World initiator and operates outside the confines of logic and reason. Asking questions, listening for answers, staying attuned to inner guidance, noticing synchronicities are helpful ways to work with the Neptune process. The shadow side of Neptune expresses through confusion, uncertainty, illusions, losing touch with reality, and what it really takes to manifest our dreams and desires in this dimension. This timing is one of the deepest, most inner-directed times for accessing our own “big picture” through inner processes. When we are in touch with our inner knowing, we know what steps are needed to fulfill our dreams.

And finally, the Moon conjuncts Venus passing through the 5th gateway since Venus rose as a morning star in early April of this year. The 5th gate is linked to the 3rd chakra and this is where Inanna is required to give up her belt around her waist symbolizing her personal power. Inanna/Venus is surrendering the ways she no longer holds her power in balance and harmony, either because she is giving her power away to others, or she is afraid she will use her power inappropriately, or she is already using her power to control and manipulate others. The third chakra stores emotional memories and what we feel in our gut and how we are emotionally connected to our environment. When the third chakra is out of balance many feel disconnected from a sense of belonging, have a skewed self-image of either being overly important or not important at all as well as fearing rejection and being overly sensitive to criticism. Discernment and a sense of life purpose as well as decision making and the ability to take healthy action are more difficult due to the inability to focus. Whatever the imbalance, Venus is now required to surrender all the ways she has misused or misunderstood her personal power becoming vulnerable and open to the ways of the underworld initiation.

http://z.about.com/d/healing/1/0/9/A/1/gi_solarplexuschakra.jpg One way to work with this Venus gate is to work with the color yellow, eating yellow foods, wearing yellow clothes or using yellow gemstones such as yellow sapphire, yellow tourmaline, amber, citrine, fluorite, yellow jade, iron pyrite, tiger eye, calcite and golden topaz, to name a few. Yellow flowers and yellow foods from yellow flowers such as sunflower seeds help to energize the third chakra. Also golden flax, rice, millet, turmeric, cumin, ginger, yarrow, chamomile, lemons, grapefruit, marjoram etcetera also are good third chakra energizers. Solar Plexus or belly massage (below the ribs and above the navel), yoga postures that focus on this area, deep conscious breathing into the solar plexus are also useful. The 3rd chakra is coming into balance or is balanced when a person is experiencing a fulfilling emotional life and has a strong sense of purpose, healthy belonging, and ability to accomplish tasks in ways that are fulfilling and uplifting.

Aug 18, Tuesday. The Moon passes by Pollux and Castor passing out of the Sacred Hoop and moving into the seasonal sign of Leo. (see July 1, 2009) Also today Mars (25 Gemini) squares Uranus (25 Pisces) reminding us to be mindful of what is happening around us. Whenever Mars and Uranus aspect each other it is important to be aware as accidents are more likely during this time if we need a wake-up call. Mars and Uranus together when expressing cutting edge, innovative, energies can accomplish a lot toward furthering evolution through revolutionary action.

Aug 19, Wednesday. The nearly New Leo Moon reaches perigee (closest approach to the Earth just a few hours before the New Moon meaning higher than usual high tides). When Leo is in its strength and power this energy knows and remembers its radiant and shining divine essence shared by all life. Now is the time for remembering and celebrating our divine essence, knowing the amount of work to remain forgetful, and to be less than our radiant and shining selves is the same amount of work as it is to remember and express our divinity. What a great paradigm awareness shift to engage this month remembering Marianne Williamson’s words from a Course in Miracles that so brilliantly confirms this. “And as we let our own Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” Yes!

Aug 20, Thursday. The Leo New Moon (28 Leo) is within a degree of the royal star and heart of the Lion Regulus exact at 7 am PST. The Sun acts as a doorway to the Mysteries and the Moon is a transmitter amplifying the power of this New Moon doorway so very near Regulus illuminating the transformative power of the alchemical flame within the heart of who we are.

According to the book Starlight Elixirs and Cosmic Vibrational Healing by Michael Smulkis and Fred Rubenfeld, Regulus assists in unblocking buried subconscious patterns. Working with this star over time brings a sense of appreciation and understanding of how we fit into our patterns and when we become conscious of the limiting patterns that prevent us from being who we truly are, we can then make more conscious choices from compassionate self-understanding that leads to greater self-love.

Because the Sun is with Regulus we cannot visually connect with this area of the sky. However, this New Moon seed point is bathed in the golden light of the illuminating Sun and therefore the possibility for alchemical transformation is heightened. The Golden Seed of our divine nature is within each of us and this New Moon further awakens the alchemical light that will help to nourish and grow this seed!

http://www.thedaze.biz/490f4d10.jpgAug 21, Friday. The Moon moved into Virgo yesterday morning and conjuncts Saturn (22 Virgo) around 6:24 pm Pacific Time passing about 6.1 degrees SSW of Saturn and the Moon also passes 2.6 degrees SSW of Mercury (25 Virgo) at 2:34 am Pacific Time tomorrow morning. Meanwhile today Mercury (25 Virgo) is opposite retrograde Uranus (25 Pisces) inspiring innovation in our creative self-expression, belief systems, communication and visionary inspiration. Uranus facilitates change through whatever means it takes and when teamed up with Mercury, the messages of change are innovative, cutting edge, and revolutionary. These planetary energies remind us we always have a choice in how we view our reality and that often a small shift in perspective can bring instantly radical and sweeping changes that are intended to liberate and free us from past limitations. This is a time to pay attention to the incoming messages, possibly through a song, a movie, an incident, a conversation, an insight or “aha”, or simply a sense of a new and growing awareness of life and its divine unfolding perfection.

The North Node enters Capricorn and the South Node is opposite, entering Cancer. Both Nodes are at 29 degrees as the Nodes move backward through the signs so the South Node is crossing the Total Solar Eclipse degree of last month. The Nodes return to this area of the sky every 19 years and will be in these signs for about 18 months energizing the past and future destiny of humanity in the areas of home, family, and community. The question we might ask is how will we move forward in caring for ourselves, our beloved Earth, and the next several generations to follow.

If you were born in the following years you are in a potent 19 year Nodal Return.

Aug 22, Saturday. The waxing Moon conjuncts Mercury (27 Virgo) and then moves into Libra. While Venus (25 Cancer) trines Uranus (25 Pisces) and the Sun moves into Virgo where it remains until September 22. The Sun passes through each sign in about 30 days at regular seasonal intervals marking the passage of a year in a dependable, repeating pattern. The Virgo mysteries are the keepers of this knowledge of the natural cycles of Earth and Sky. The patterning of life, the weaving of the web, these are the mysteries of Spider woman. The ancient sky watchers were the priest~esses trained in the knowledge of the sacred timings and when to perform the special ceremonies that kept life in balance. This is a great time to notice if you feel attuned and in balance with the changing seasons, planetary cycles, Moon cycles, the daily, weekly, monthly, yearly cycles, and the many cycles within cycles that affect our lives.

Aug 23, Sunday. The Sun (0 Virgo 45) trines retrograde Pluto (0 Capricorn 45) signaling the slowing of Pluto as it prepares to station direct on Sep 11. Pluto stations direct at 0Capricorn39 moving only 6 minutes over the 19 days. This marks the Stand Still of Pluto that lasts into October. Pluto hovers around the Galactic Cross where the December Solstice is now located due to the 26,000 year precessional cycle of the Solstices and Equinoxes. The Sun is currently rising on the Galactic Cross near Galactic Center at the December Solstice. Pluto has been crossing back and forth over this area of the sky since last year. However, we have entered the window of the Pluto station direct time and this is the only time in 248 years that Pluto is stationing direct so close to the December Solstice Marker. (See Pluto Article )

Aug 24, Monday. The Libra Moon passes 3.1 degrees SSW of Spica (marking the hand of the Virgin Priestess) before moving into Scorpio. Mercury (29 Virgo) is at greatest elongation in the evening sky at 27.4 degrees from the Sun. This means Mercury is going to go retrograde on September 6. Plus, Venus is conjuncting Vesta (28 Cancer) the asteroid most connected to the Virgin Priestess archetype dedicated to the sacred ceremonial work whatever that may be. In ancient times the Priests and Priestesses were trained in the Temples and their function was clear.

In current times this archetypal energy has not been supported so the question to ask is what is the sacred work now? How can we live in sacred relationship with reverence and honoring for the natural cycles and patterns of life? When we are asking and willing to listen for the messages and attune to the emerging new patterns that help to inform the evolution of these mysteries we will receive answers. For those who live in Tucson, Arizona … if you - or if you know anyone who is interested in further Awakening the Priestess Within - a circle is forming here in Tucson with Cathrine Estar (yes for those who might be wondering…this is how she spells her name). A preview of the process is taking place on Sep 3, 2009 at 6:30 pm. Call Cathrine at 520-887-1410 for more information.

Aug 25, Tuesday. Mars moves into Cancer until October 16 returning to the place where it went retrograde in 2007 entering the Elder wisdom phase of this nearly complete 26 month Mars cycle. This marks the phase of the cycle where Mars can now find ways to actively and wisely express the evolving mysteries of home and family and responsible nurturing.

Mercury enters Libra not completing with this sign until Oct 28 due to the September 6 retrograde with a brief re-entry into Virgo from Sep 17 to October 9. Messenger Mercury in Libra focuses on the mysteries of conscious equal partnership in harmony and balance with all life calling our attention to our interrelatedness to every aspect of creation and the importance of taking personal responsibility for how we are relating. Taking note of our relationships and the messages they have for us will be especially informative over the next few weeks.

Aug 26, Wednesday. Mercury (0Libra) Squares Mars (0 Cancer) and Pluto (0Capricorn) forming a powerful T-square designed to shift our perception and transform our deepest fears around the mysteries of relationship, family and community. Mercury and Mars together tend to operate at a fast pace, often acting impulsively. Pluto is the deep alchemical initiator that helps to transform through experiences of death and rebirth. This is a time for communicating responsibly with others and being open to the new messages about how to engage healthy relationships with yourself and those in your community.

Venus moves into Leo until September 20 investigating radiant, healthy, creative, radical self-love. Healthy Leo knows their presence and the light they radiate and vibrate in this life is their greatest gift to this evolving world. This pure love of Self radiates inspiration for all without holding back. It is much like the life-giving light of the Sun that indiscriminately shines on everything.Moon over Antares and the Galactic Cross

The Green line is the Ecliptic and the blue line is the Galactic Equator forming the Galactic Cross. Where the Moon is located is about 5 degrees below the ecliptic where it is occulting Antares.

Aug 27, Thursday. The Sagittarius First Quarter Moon is 5 Sagittarius (4:42 am Pacific Time) occulting Antares about 10 hours later. This is also the most visible growth phase of the Moon accelerating what is already in motion especially around the quest for truth and the greater meaning of our lives. Occultations accelerate the energy connected to the star or planet they are occulting.

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa (1486-1535) says this about Antares:

"The thirteenth is called the Heart of the Scorpion, under which, amongst stones, is the sardonius, and amethyst; amongst plants long aristolochy and saffron." Three Books of Occult Philosophy Bk. I, Chapter 32, (Tyson ed.) page 99.

He also says:

Under the Heart of Scorpio (Antares) they made the image of a man armed, and with a coat of mail, or the figure of a scorpion; it giveth understanding and memory, it maketh a good colour, and aideth against evil spirits, and driveth them away, and bindeth them.

Three Books of Occult Philosophy Bk. II, Chapter 47, (Tyson ed.) pages 395-6. http://www.esotericarchives.com/agrippa/home.htm

Antares is one of 15 Behenian fixed stars considered especially useful for magical applications in medieval astrology of Europe and the Arab world. The Behenian stars were considered a source of astrological power when one or more planets were conjunct. It was believed that when a planet was within six degrees of a Behenian star, the star’s influence was greatly heightened.

Many of the fixed stars are well known for their shadow expressions. Naturally, every aspect in this world has a seemingly dual nature or light and shadow side. That is because every aspect in our experience, whether in nature or in the heavens, is a part of who we are. It is up to us to choose how we engage these energies. Antares does have the potential for great power when used wisely with Integrity and Heart. However, if a person is accessing Antares for power over others, then ultimately, these energies will backfire, causing their downfall.

This year - 2009 – the Moon has occulted Antares on Jan 21, Feb 17, Mar 17, Apr 13, May 10, June 7, July 4, and July 31. The Moon Occults Antares today, August 27, and again on September 24, October 21, November 17, and December 15. This means 2009 has 13 occultations of the Moon over Antares. This is due to the southern declination of the Moon near 26 degrees almost three degrees beyond the 23.5 degree boundary of the southern declination of the Sun. Antares is a Behenian star meaning these Moon occultations provide us with direct access to the power and magic of Antares a star key to the Golden Gate of Ascension.

Aug 28, Friday. Mercury (2Libra) is sextile Venus (2 Leo) located 60 degrees apart though Venus is in the morning sky and Mercury is in the evening sky so they are not visible at the same time. Mercury in Libra reminds Venus in Leo about the importance of clear communication that includes genuine listening as well as taking responsibility for our experience and what it is we are desiring to communicate. Healthy communication with self and others is one of the pillars of radical self-love. So now is the time to practice deepening your relationship with yourself by honestly and genuinely listening deeply within yourself and then finding ways to creatively communicate your divine essence! If you don’t know how to do that keep listening and ask the part of yourself that knows. If you are listening to that wise inner knowing even if it doesn’t make logical sense to you…you will find yourself further down the path of radical self-love, that not only benefits you but everyone around you!

Aug 29, Saturday. The Moon crosses the Galactic Cross for the second time this month as it passes into Capricorn and conjuncts Pluto (0 Capricorn 42). The Moon is at 26 degrees south declination 2.5 degrees beyond the maximum southern declination of the Sun at Winter Solstice. Once again the Moon is reaching beyond the confines of ordinary reality and encountering the Shamanic Initiator Pluto who has returned to the center point of the Galactic Cross where the Plane of the Galaxy or Milky Way and the Plane of the Solar System or Ecliptic intersect.

This Moon conjunction is amplifying the effect of the T-square that is still occurring between Mercury (2 Libra), Mars (2 Cancer) and Pluto (0 Capricorn). Pluto’s job is to bring our deepest fears to light. Embracing and naming our fears helps to release and transform them. Ceanne DeRohan writes in the book Right Use of Will about the effect of denial.

Denying that you have fear only disconnects the fear from the understanding it needs. Release of fear is not possible unless you have acceptance for the fear.”

When our fears remain unrecognized they influence the choices we make and the way we conduct our lives. When our fears are named, acknowledged, and accepted they no longer have the power to unconsciously influence our choices and so when we do our shadow work we are then freed to live happy, healthy, joy filled lives.

Aug 30, Sunday. Mars (3 Cancer) is reaching its greatest northern declination 23.6 in the current cycle. In 1993 Mars reached 27 degrees North Declination and in 2007 Mars again reached nearly 27 degrees North Declination at the same time the Moon was also near its maximum declination known as the Lunar Standstill. On December 23, 2007 the Lunar Standstill Full Moon rose occulting Mars (3 Cancer) as Mars had reached its opposition to the Sun.

This began a new 26 month Mars cycle that is now in the last four months of its journey. As mentioned earlier Mars will go retrograde December 20, 2009 and begins a new synodic cycle when Mars reaches opposition to the Sun in January 2010. These next few months represent the integration phase of the current Mars cycle while today Mars reaches its greatest stretch in declination for this current evening star appearance accessing galactic information beyond the boundaries of where the Sun can reach.

Aug 31, Monday. The Moon moves into Aquarius tonight illuminating the mysteries of expanded states of consciousness and enlightenment in multi-dimensional realms of experience. This means the Moon will soon be moving over the August 5 Lunar Eclipse degree of 13 Aquarius sometime tomorrow and then will catch up to Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune activating and amplifying this triple nexus – linking the ancient future in the now. The portals and pathways of these varying expressions of time, from past to future, are all collapsing and compressing into the present moment.

The Celestial World where Neptune operates, the Middle World where Jupiter shines so brightly and the Underworld where Chiron transforms the wounds of the past that act to separate us from our divine essence are being amplified by the Moon’s passage further interweaving our experience of all three worlds. The Chironic wounds are easily transformed when we are willing to embrace them, release them, and forgive ourselves and others for all the unforgivable experiences that have contributed to our wounding. This powerful healing opportunity is greatly facilitated when we can forgive the unforgivable. Without willingness to radically forgive all the hurts and wrongs we have ever experienced, the wounds that define our current reality cannot be transformed.

The gift Neptune brings from the Celestial World is Divine Grace - something we do not have to earn and it creates the possibility of fully living our true purpose. We are much more likely to be able to receive the experience of Divine Grace if we have already forgiven any unforgivable acts we have done or have had done to us in ways that allow us to be open and receptive to the gifts of Grace.
