Celestial Timings
By Cayelin K Castell
Graduation is only a concept. In real life every day you graduate. Graduation is a process that goes on until the last day of your life. If you can grasp that, you'll make a difference. ~ by Arie Pencovici who has published a book of quotes and lives in Israel and Brazil.
Graduation
I loved finding the above quote as it so sums up my personal experience. My youngest son graduated from High School May 20, 2009 and I have been thinking about the energy of graduation ever since. I realized graduation is a process that occurs every day of our lives even before I found the quote. My awareness has been heightened around this reality as I ponder my own graduation now that my 27 year career as a mother shifts again. My
oldest son graduated from High School in 2000 and my twins graduated from High School in 2003. These graduations were important for many reasons and yet because this is my last child to graduate from High School, this graduation has impacted me in a different way as the shift for me is more dramatic this time.
As I have been pondering the graduation experience my sense of it has been expanding until I was seeing this concept as the largest context of our movement from the Old Earth to the New Earth. Earth is graduating! And we are all not only helping to facilitate her graduation process but we are graduating with her as well. This June is an excellent time to note our own graduation process and how it aligns with the overall graduation of the Earth.
Note: The on-going conjunction of Neptune, Jupiter, and Chiron remains powerfully active for the rest of 2009 staying within a few degrees of each other as they travel in retrograde and then station direct. Jupiter stations direct October 17 at 17 Aquarius. Chiron Stations direct at 21 Aquarius on October 31 and Neptune stations direct on November 4 at 23 Aquairus. If you have been following what I have been sharing about this over the past few months it can help you to continue consciously connecting with the intent of these three initiatory planets working together to shift the assemblage point of our current reality according to the visions and dreams being imagined now. See June 15, 2009 and the 2009 Archives for more.
Visible Planets (These are the highlights for this month with more details and interpretations shared in the Daily Timings)
- Sun Summer Solstice is June 20/21 at 10:46 pm PDT on the 20th and 1:46 am EDT on the 21st.
- Mercury stationed direct on May 30 and is reaching greatest elongation (23 degrees from the Sun) in the morning sky on June 13. However, Mercury is still low in the sky it will be difficult to see until later in the month. You may be able to see Mercury about 20 degrees to the lower left of Venus most of this month.
- Venus rose before the Sun on April 3 and began a new 584 day cycle. This is important for anyone born in an 8 year (8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72. 80, 88, 94, 102 etc) between April 3, 2009 and Nov 4, 2010 as this marks your personal 8 year Venus return. (See Venus Article for more and contact me for information about Venus specific sessions) Venus is reaching greatest elongation in the morning sky on June 5 and the Moon passes by Venus within 8 degrees as well as Mars on June 19 in the Solstice window.
- Mars is growing brighter this month and is returning to an exact conjunction with Venus from June 19 to 23. The Moon is with Mars and Venus on the 19th. Venus and Mars are rising two hours before the Sun as the month begins, stretching to three hours before the Sun as the month progresses. Mars is a small orangey red speck of light compared to Venus. Venus and Mars are within 10 degrees of each other until Mid-July.
- Jupiter moved into Aquarius on January 5 and is visible in the morning sky at the tail end of the Goatfish approaching the Water Bearer. A dark sky is needed to see the stars of these constellations but Jupiter will be easy to spot rising around 1 am as the month begins and by 11 pm as the month ends.
- Saturn officially became an evening star on March 8 when it reached opposition to the Sun rising as the Sun set. Saturn is high in the sky after the Sun sets and is visible in the constellation of the Lion (though it is located in the seasonal sign of Virgo). Saturn stationed direct on May 16 about 15 degrees away from Regulus.
Moon begins this month in Libra moving through all the signs returning to Leo and ending the month in Scorpio. See the Daily Timings for more Moon occurrences this month including the visible and non-visible conjunctions with other planets and the occultation of Moon over Antares on June 6 visible in North America.
Invisible Planets
- Uranus (26 Pisces 16 to 26 Pisces 37) stations retrograde July 1, 2009 at 26 Pisces 37 and will station direct at 26 Pisces 42 on December 1, 2009. Uranus (24 Pisces) opposes the Sun (24 Virgo) on Sep 17.
- Neptune (26 Aquarius 29 to 26 Aquarius 13) stationed retrograde May 28/29 at 26 Aquarius 29 and stations direct on November 4, 2009 at 23 Aquarius 42. Neptune (25 Aquarius) opposes the Sun (25 Leo) on August 17.
- Pluto (00 Capricorn 09 to 1 Capricorn 14) stationed retrograde April 4, 2009 (03 Capricorn 18) and stations direct November 4 at 00 Capricorn 39 on September 11. Pluto (2 Capricorn) opposes the Sun (2 Cancer) June 23.
- Chiron (26 Aquarius 13 to 25 Aquarius 52) stationed retrograde on May 31 at 26 Aquarius 13 and stations direct October 31, 2009 at 21 Aquarius 13. Chiron (23 Aquarius) opposes the Sun (23 Leo) August 15.
Stars worth Noting This Month
This month the Milky Way is more visible as it shifts or turns up enough to come into view though it is still not the best visibility. Last month the Milky Way was lying flat around the horizon so it was barely visible. The Summer Triangle is prominent now with the fixed star
Deneb, the tail of Cygnus the Swan in the path of the Milky Way. Cygnus points toward the direction our Galaxy is moving. Vega, in the constellation of Lyra and the pole star 13,000 years ago is marking the “solar apex” or the direction our Sun is traveling with respect to the Local Standard of Rest. This is not referring to the path of the Sun we observe from Earth.
Also prominent this month is the constellation of the Virgin Priestess (a.k.a. Virgo) containing seven main stars. The most visible star in this group is the bright bluish white
star Spica, meaning "spike of grain." Higher in the sky and a bit to the right of Spica is the star Denebola which forms the lion's tail in the constellation also known as Leo. If you follow a direct line from Spica to the upper left you will see the bright red star Arcturus. These three stars Arcturus, Denebola, and Spica form what is sometimes called the Spring Triangle best viewed from April to June. Plus, we have the perfect 30-60-90 degree triangle formed by Arcturus, Spica and Regulus (the heart of the lion). Look East/Southeast to spot both triangles. (See August 2007 Archives for more about Arcturus, Spica and Regulus triangle.)

Daily Timings for June
Jun 01, Monday. The Moon moves into Libra transmitting the mysteries of conscious, fun relationships that assist you in knowing more of yourself through the reflection of your friends, family and any significant others. The basis of any good relationship is clear, honest, enjoyable, creative communication that includes listening. A healthy relationship is possible when both people are there to actively and supportively listen in respectful, caring ways. The Moon’s move through Libra for the next two and a half days is a great time to reflect on all of your relationships. Are they healthy? If not, is there anything you can do to create a healthier relationship? Do you need to forgive yourself and those who may have betrayed or hurt you? Do you need clearer boundaries? Do you need to express feelings you have been hiding for the purpose of creating greater intimacy through compassionate communication? Are you afraid to express your feelings because it will upset the other person? Do you want or need to have more fun and play with those you love? If so what steps can you take to create a different experience?
Jun 02, Tuesday. Venus (26 Gemini) sextiles Neptune and Jupiter (26 Aquarius). Traditionally these energies could produce greater harmony, high hopes, and idealistic visions and dreams. The feminine capacity to dream and vision is being expanded and heightened so this is a great time to spend time in nature, meditate, or any other activities that allow you to space out and contact the celestial realms.
Jun 0 3, Wednesday. The Moon passes by Spica before moving into Scorpio. The Libra Moon is passing the fixed star Spica (23 Libra) in the constellation of the Virgin Priestess (a.k.a. Virgo) energizing the sacred mysteries of conscious equal partnership, harmony, and balance. It is worth noticing where the Moon is tonight and locating this magical Behenian bright blue star. Spica is also zodiacally aligned with Arcturus (a bright red star) in the constellation of
Bootes, both found at 23 Libra. A meteor shower is taking place here later in the month. (see June 27) Spica is the star marking the hand of the “Winged Virgin” or Virgin Priestess and is the brightest star of this constellation located close to the Ecliptic meaning Spica can be occulted by the Moon. At present time the Moon is passing to the South of Spica but will begin a series of occultations July 25, 2012 that goes through December 27, 2013. http://www.earthsky.org/radioshows/51514/star-near-moon-on-august-17-is-spica
The Moon takes 27. 3 days to return to any star or constellation. This is important because on June 30 the Moon will return to conjunct Spica again. (See June 30)
Mars (3 Taurus) trines retrograde Pluto (3 Capricorn) emphasizing the power of action to transform fears that hold you back so you can more clearly move toward your purpose. This is the time for decisive inspired action that supports the fulfillment of your goals.

Jun 04, Thursday. Venus (28 Aries) reaches Greatest Elongation 46 degrees from the Sun. This means Venus has stretched as far from the Sun as she will stretch in this Morning Star appearance and Venus is zodiacally aligned with the fixed star Al Rishi (29 Aries) in the constellation of the Fishes (a.k.a. Pisces). Al Rishi is the knot that connects the cords of the two fish. Vivian Robson tells us the story about Venus and her son Cupid sitting on the bank of the Euphrates when they saw Typhon, the enemy of the Gods, approaching them. To escape they jumped into the river and were saved from drowning (or losing their life force) by two fishes. In gratitude for their help Venus placed the two fish in the heavens and they are now known as the constellation Pisces or the Fish. http://www.constellationsofwords.com/stars/Stars_alphabet.htm
Taking this a bit further, rishi has other meanings. The “rishi” hair knot worn by Sikhs is said to help them maintain their spiritual focus and channel divine energy. Rishi is a Sanskrit word describing someone who has developed the capacity to control the flow of life force energy (a.k.a. prana) in their body. The “rishi” knot is thought to assist a person in channeling their energy during meditation. As Venus makes her furthest reach from the Sun the capacity to channel and direct the life force energy through meditative practices is seemingly enhanced by this fixed star.
The long Venus journey through Aries also connects to the mythic story of Sekhmet the feminine eye of the Sun who restores balance. Sekhmet is an Egyptian word for power or might coming from 'Sekhem'. Sekhmet’s mantra is Sa (Sah) Sekhem (Say-Kem) Sahu (Sah-Hoo) and when chanted helps to balance and increase inner power. Sa means the breath of life; Sekhem means power; Sahu is the spiritually realized human. Thus, this mantra is referring to the power of the breath of life to assist us in becoming fully realized. Breathing deeply while chanting this mantra has the ability to create a powerful altered state that raises your vibration and transforms any imbalanced energies. Over the next year and half as Venus continues to integrate the Aries mysteries chanting this mantra may be helpful in integrating the power and strength of our inner divine protector who always performs divine right action in accordance with what is needed in the moment. http://moonpathcuups.org/rituals/sekhst05.htm
Jun 05, Friday. Sun (15 Gemini 14) squares Saturn (15 Virgo 14) marking the full speed ahead motion of Saturn after its direct station last month. Since May 16 Saturn has only moved 19 minutes in the past month. The Sun Saturn Square is when Saturn starts picking up speed and will reach 16 degrees of Virgo by June 22 moving 46 minutes in 17 days. This marks the time when the new forms Saturn has been incubating will become more evident. Saturn’s passage through Virgo has shown us the limitations of the old structure and what is NOT working.
Now it is time to take action to further new forms that are based in sustainability and reverence for all life. This does not mean we have to know the perfect actions to take now, rather it is essential to take any inspired action intended to support the continued birth of a New Earth. Indeed, Saturn reminds us that “perfection itself is insufficient to our liberation” as described in The Shamanic Astrology Handbook.
Everybody has to look at his or her own footprint and do the best they can. It's not about being perfect, it's about doing something. If we're looking for perfection, we'll never, ever get there. ~ Laurie David
Jun 06, Saturday. The Moon moves into Sagittarius and occults Antares with the fullest Rise of the Moon tonight. This is the 6th occultation of Antares over the Moon since January
visible in North America, Colombia, and Venezuela. According to Guy Ottewell’s Astronomical calendar there are 13 occultations of Antares this year. Today’s occultation is the one closest to a Full Moon this year. The Moon is rising about 26 minutes before the Sun sets with a low horizon line local time. These occultations are particularly important as Antares is a gateway star to the center of the universe and the place where souls ascend out of this realm. Said another way Antares was considered to be the Golden Gate of Ascension by the ancients. The Moon is a transmitter opening the Antares Stargate Portal of ascension and when occulting this star provides us with even greater access to these mysteries when we are attuning to this Timing.
The Sagittarius Full Moon window opens today, is exact tomorrow, and goes through June 8 symbolizing a time of fulfillment and increased awareness. Each Full Moon reminds us of the seeds we may have coming to maturity and fruition. The Full Moon and Summer Solstice are closely linked both being the time of the greatest amount of light, in the monthly and yearly cycle as we approach the Summer Solstice the Sagittarius Full Moon enlightens our awareness of the deeper truths linked with the spiritual quest.
Venus is finally moving into new territory (Taurus) after her long sojourn (since Feb 2) through the sacred warrior energy of Aries. This is a huge shift from the warrior/adventurer aspect of the goddess who willingly stands for and fights for any cause she truly believes is just. Venus in Taurus expresses through the love goddess, who is openly and willingly receiving the joy, beauty and abundance of the garden of earthly delight, while savoring intimate moments with herself, others and the Earth. Venus remains in Taurus until July 5.
Jun 07, Sunday. The Sagittarius Full Moon (17 Sagittarius) is illuminating the path or journey or quest of life. Everyone has a path to follow and the Sag Full Moon helps to illuminate that path when we are tuning in and asking for the way to be shown. This quote from the soon to be released book by Puran and Susanna Bair is a wonderful reminder of the guidance we experience when we follow our hearts.
Plumbers and priests, laborers and lawyers, nurses and newscasters -- we all follow the same path to the same goal of completion, and we each reach as far as we can in this one life. Some go with eyes closed and some with eyes open; some are dragged along and some run ahead; some stop and set up hotels for other travelers, and some who go ahead leave trail markers for those who follow. This book gives the map of the pathway, knowledge of which will make for a smoother journey and allow you to travel farther.
The notion of a map for human development flies against the popular philosophy of simply being present in the moment. The Map reminds you: you're on a journey from your origins to a distant goal. You're not just at this place at this time; you're everywhere along the path; you are still the one who set out on this journey and you are already the one who will arrive. Celebrate how far you have come, attend to the opportunities of this time, prepare the way to the goal ahead and, in general, be the captain of your life. The present moment can be as large as a lifetime if you extend the scope of your awareness to the whole of your path. ~Follow Your Heart: The Map to Spiritual Maturity by Puran and Susanna Bair http://www.appliedmeditation.org/books_cds/coming_books.shtml
Jun 08, Monday. Venus (3 Taurus) trines retrograde Pluto (3 Capricorn) plus the Moon moves into Capricorn and conjuncts Pluto. With the Moon illuminating Pluto and casting light on our fears it is a great time to embrace what scares us. Today we are facing challenging economic times forcing us to look at the illusions we have created around our economic system. Pluto in Capricorn is examining the current structures of our society and bringing the shadow elements to the light of our awareness so they can be transformed. Looking back to 1933 Pluto was in Cancer and the United States was deep into the Great Depression. Unemployment was 25%, most banks had closed and hundreds of thousands were homeless. On March 4, 1933 Franklin Delano Roosevelt became the next United States President. In his inaugural address he said…
This is preeminently the time to speak the truth, the whole truth, frankly and boldly. Nor need we shrink from honestly facing conditions in our country today. This great nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself--nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. http://knowledgenews.net/moxie/todaysknowledge/meet-fdr.shtml
This was a great Pluto strategy for then and now. The first step, as demonstrated in the quote, is to acknowledge the issues and fears and tell the truth about them. Face them honestly and then take steps to move toward the transformation that Pluto always brings when we embrace our fear and release our attachments to outcome.
Jun 09, Tuesday. Mercury (26 Taurus) squares Neptune (26 Aquarius). The
Transformational Messenger is also very near the Pleiades accessing the galactic library and the Celestial Cosmic Visions with Neptune’s help. Returning to FDR’s strategy for continuing to inspire new visions and dreams. In 1941, he encouraged Americans to envision a prosperous, peaceful world founded on "Four Freedoms":
We look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms. . . . freedom of speech and expression . . . freedom of every person to worship God in his own way . . . freedom from want . . . freedom from fear. http://knowledgenews.net/moxie/todaysknowledge/meet-fdr.shtml
The Aquarian dispensation states that everyone has the right to take responsibility for their own spiritual or evolutionary path. The freedom to creatively express, to chose our spiritual path, to have our needs met and to courageously embrace life are worthy visions as move into the New Earth energy. These precepts were seeded in the collective conscious back in 1941 almost 70 years ago. Interestingly, we entered the one degree orb of the Galactic Alignment around 1926. The question now is how do we not only envision these ideals but take action to manifest them more fully into our current reality?
Jun 10, Wednesday. Mercury (27 Taurus) squares Jupiter (27 Aquarius) expanding the themes already given in the June 9 Timings. Aquarius is an archetypal energy most connected to evolutionary freedom through revolutionary actions especially through our imagination (i-magi-nation). When we use our imagination to envision a new world based in freedom and then take responsibility for our own evolutionary path we are actively co-creating the New Earth
Jun 11, Thursday. The Moon moves into Aquarius transmitting the mysteries of the cosmic revolutionary who experiments with innovative ideas intended to accelerate growth and consciousness. This is a good time to question the rules and dare to invite the changes that support your freest expression of who you truly are.
Jun 12, Friday. Messenger Mercury in its morning star appearance is returning for its third and final exact pass by the Pleiades that defined this last Mercury Retrograde cycle. This is a time for tuning into the Messages coming in from the Pleiadian stargate and the Galactic Library located there. (see May 1, 6, 13, 18, 20, 23 and 30 in the 2009 archives)
Jun 13, Saturday. The Moon conjuncts Neptune (26 Aquarius 25), Chiron (26 Aquarius 10) and Jupiter (27 Aquarius 01) before moving into Pisces. The element of surprise, unusual events, whatever it takes to shift our perception and bring us closer to a sacred connection with Spirit are being amplified as the Moon contacts Neptune, Chiron and Jupiter. Mercury is reaching its greatest elongation from the Sun in this morning star phase of the current cycle, reaching into the depths of the Pleiadian stargate for the third time as mentioned yesterday. Mercury feels at home in the Gemini and both archetypal energies are most known for being the Trickster (in Service to Spirit) whose purpose is to liberate the mind from the confines of duality, shifting our perception of reality through humor, the cosmic joke, the sacred healing power of laughter and the realization that this world is not as real as appears.
Jun 14, Sunday. Jupiter stations retrograde (27 Aquarius) tomorrow in the early morning hours and remains retrograde until October 12 when it stations direct at 21 Aquarius 14. This retrograde transit most affects those people with planets or angles between 17 and 28 degrees of Aquarius. However, if you have any Aquarian planets or angles, regardless of what degree, they are being impacted by Jupiter’s retrograde even if Jupiter doesn’t return to those degrees. Jupiter is bringing a renewal of vision to the Aquarian part of your chart including evolutionary and highly revolutionary insights connected to the fulfillment of the unfolding divine plan.
The Sun now at 23 Gemini is zodiacally aligned with the three main stars of the belt of
Orion. These three stars from east to west are Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka. All three stars are near 23 degrees Gemini. Alnilam (a bright second magnitude star) is an Arabic word translated to mean "the String of Pearls," and marks the standard for comparing the brightness of other stars. Pearls are the oldest known gem and have been highly valued by nearly every culture on our planet. To the ancient Chinese Pearls represented feminine, yin energy reflecting the Moon and representing wisdom perfection, completeness and love. The Taoists talk about the “pearl of potentiality”, the “night shining pearl”, and the “flaming pearl” symbolizing spiritual unfolding (the flaming pearl is also a symbol for the Sun)*. (See June 30)
Jun 15, Monday. The Pisces Last Quarter Moon (25 Pisces) represents the integration phase of the current Moon cycle as we approach the Cancer New Moon on June 22. As the Moon phases progress through a month they follow the pattern from New Moon, to First Quarter Moon, to Full Moon, to Last Quarter Moon and back to New Moon. However, tracking the Moon phases by sign through the year we see a different patterning emerging. For example, looking back over the last year the Moon phases that occurred in Pisces started with the Pisces New Moon on March 7, 2008. Then came the last Pisces Last Quarter Moon on May 27, 2008 and the Pisces Full Moon on Sept 15, 2008 followed by the Pisces First Quarter Moon on Dec 5, 2008. February 24, 2009 we again had the Pisces New Moon.
This Moon phase pattern based on the signs goes from New Moon to Last Quarter Moon to Full Moon to First Quarter Moon and back to New Moon. This is interesting to contemplate when considering the mysteries of any given sign going through all these Moon phases in a year but not in the order we experience the Moon phases in a month. For example, the Gemini New Moon was May 24, the Virgo First Quarter Moon was May 30, the Sagittarius Full Moon is June 7 and the Cancer New Moon is June 22 and the Libra First Quarter Moon is June 29.
The Pisces New Moon in February of this year, when the seeds were planted, and the Pisces Last Quarter Moon this month, or the integration phase of the Moon cycle, connects the first phase with the last. The first and last Moon phases in any given sign follow each other with about three months separating them as described above. It brings to mind a line in Revelation 22:13 that says: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. This is worth pondering as we are also at the end and beginning of an entire 26,000 year cycle.
The Moon phases through Pisces asks the question; “How can I help and heal”? The Last Quarter phase is a time for synthesis and putting the answers to this question into action.
Jun 16, Tuesday. The waning Moon moves into Aries amplifying the energy of the Warrior Amazon and the benefits of spontaneous, decisive action, based on trusting the in-the-moment intuitive process. This helps direct and support courageous and effective action intended to further support any just causes.
Jun 17, Wednesday. Sun (26 Gemini) trines retrograde Neptune, Chiron and Jupiter around 27 Aquarius. This is because these three planets are hanging out at their Still Point for this entire month. Neptune is only moving 16 minutes this entire month. Jupiter moves less than 15 minutes this whole month. (Remember there are 60 minutes in a degree!) When the outer planets trine the Sun they are always retrograde and nearly stopped in the sky. This creates a Still Point or access point into the deeper mysteries of the Planet.
Neptune is a Celestial World planet connected to the field of all possibilities. Jupiter is a middle world planet connected to the activities that take us to our goals most quickly. Chiron is an underworld planet creating opportunities for healing that turn poisonous wounds into transformative medicine. In this Still Point nexus (or link) between these three worlds deep, life generating breathing is a key that connects us to the spirit and intent of all three worlds. This breath has had many names in different cultures including prana and chi.
The Druids called it “Awen” (breath of divine inspiration). Awen has three main principles; understanding truth, loving truth; and maintaining truth. Druidic practices include chanting the word “Awen” as a way to open to the flow of inspiration and energy coming from the other worlds and anchoring it more fully in this realm. If you feel guided, this month is a great time to test out this practice to see if it works for you. www.druidnetwork.org/en/lightning/glossary/index.html
Jun 18, Thursday. The Moon moves into Taurus and the Sun is now zodiacally aligned with the fixed star Betelgeuze marking the shoulder of Orion at 28 to 29 degrees of Gemini. Mercury will pass by here on July 2 and 3. Venus will pass this alignment on July 29 and Mars will be here August 22 to 27.
The brightest fixed star in the constellation of Orion is Betelgeuse. This is an Arabic word that means “the armpit of the central one”. Orion is also referred to as the High Man by the Celts and in some depictions is seen reaching his hand to the Galactic Cross. This marked the Turning of the Ages for them when the Sun was located here at either a seasonal gate or a cross-quarter point. Currently the Sun sits at the hand of the High Man during the Summer Solstice and is one of the features of the current Turning of the Ages.
Orion’s shoulder, Betelgeuse is a first magnitude red star the ancients thought bestowed “marital honors, fortune and wealth. According to Page Bryant in her book Starwalking: Shamanic Practices for Traveling into the Night Sky she says Betelguese sends an energy to earth that “helps sustain the flow of life force in all bodies on Earth.” The Sun’s own radiant life force energy further transmits the energy from Betelgeuse making this an ideal time to tune into this star energy. http://www.pagebryant.com/ http://www.constellationsofwords.com/Constellations/Orion.html
Once each year the Sun is conjunct Betelgeuse (27 Gemini), the bright red star that marks the shoulder of Orion (a.k.a the hunter). Belelgeuse (pronounced beetle juice) is one of the three prominent stars of the winter triangle or configuration that forms a perfect equilateral triangle including Sirius and Procyon. These stars make up what was known in some cultures as Heaven’s Gate or the entry point into this dimension of experience.
Ancient India connected Betelgeuse to the Vedic storm-god Rudra, who was a form of Shiva, the transformer through destruction and re-creation. This star is now located near the June Solstice, drawing upon its transformative abilities to assist in this Turning of the Ages renovating our earthly experience. Betelgeuse was thought to be a star that encouraged the pursuit of perfection and high level achievement. In these transforming times, the standards or ideals of perfection are not what they once were, as our understanding changes. Worldly perfection and accomplishment does not necessarily create inner peace and joy. When the focus shifts to accepting the inner perfection we already possess then our external world experience shifts.
Jun 19, Friday. Moon conjuncts Venus (13Taurus11 at the 3rd gate 5th Chakra) and Mars (13Taurus 48) just prior to the exact Venus Mars conjunction (15Taurus16) exact on June 21. This Venus gate is especially important for anyone turning of a multiple of 8 (16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, 64, 72, 80, 88 etc. between April 3, 2003 and Nov 4, 2010) as you are in an eight year Venus Return. I am now offering special Venus specific readings for those in this time frame. Contact me for details.

symbolizing the throat chakra. This chakra is called Vishuddha in sanskrit meaning purity. This chakra is most noted for communication, especially communicating the deepest truth of one's being, and inspired creativ self-expression. This chakra relates to sound and the color blue (lapis lazuli is a deep blue stone). Thought, word and deed represents the co-creative process in this dimension. Our thoughts, what we invision, 6th chakra, and how we speak of them with our words, 5th chakra, and how our feelings align with these our visions and words, 4th chakra, and then what actions we take (3rd chakra) are key factors in the co-creative process.
This is the time to release any distortions we may have in the area of creative communication that do not promote truthful creative self-expression, peace, harmony, and joy. Speaking our truth is only useful when we do so with the intent to promote healing and greater connection. If our speech comes from ego, or a need to be right, or superior in some way at the expense of peace and harmony or creating greater separation this is the time to ceremonially release them. Chanting, singing, verbal prayers, decrees, and affirmations with specific intent are all great ways to ceremonially participate with this Venus gate. Committing to learning, or refining, healthy ways to communicate with yourself are beneficial practices anytime but most especially over this next month while Venus is at this gate.
With Moon conjoining Venus and Mars so closely to their exact conjunction an image that comes to mind is the sacred union or Heiros Gamos of the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine presided over by Grandmother Moon. This conjunction in the Taurus domain suggests the leading edge of this union is to deepen intimacy and sexual union between the feminine and masculine principles as they also unite in the Summer Solstice Cancer New Moon Window. Heiros Gamos or Sacred Marriage symbolizes not only the union of the divine feminine and divine masculine but also the reunion of sexuality and spirituality, matter and spirit, as well as our human connection with the abundant fullness of nature and the beauty that is in full bloom.
Dumuzi (Mars) at first has to pursuade Inanna (Venus) to marry a shepherd king. She is also encouraged by her mother Ningal, the Moon Goddess of Ur. The encounter then runs hot with the young Inanna's passion for young shepherd king Dumuzzi and their consummation, and with the echoing fullness of pastoral fecundity. It is the very love song of creation, which fills the earth with the burgeoning splendour of life.
…Inanna opened the door for him.
Inside the house she shone before him
Like the light of the moon.
Dumuzi looked at her joyously.
He pressed his neck close against hers. He kissed her… http://www.dhushara.com/book/hieros/hieros.htm

Jun 20, Saturday. Summer Solstice is occurring at 10:36 PM Pacific Time with the Moon occulting the Pleiades and conjuncting Mercury. The Summer Solstice is the seasonal marker signaling a time when the abundance of life is at its fullest expression, the most amount of light in a day is available in this part of the yearly cycle. The Solstices and Equinoxes form the four gates, or four directions, of the celestial medicine wheel. These seasonal gates are activated by the Sun in a rhythmic pattern and the Solstice gates are currently aligned near the Galactic Center and the Galactic Edge, something that happens for a number of years every 13,000 years. The current alignment happens every 26,000 years but 13,000 years ago we had the opposite solstices or mirror image of the current time.
Solstice literally means “stand still of the Sun”. This means the Sun rises and sets at the same place on the horizon for three days appearing to stand still. Therefore, the potency of the Solstice window lasts a minimum of three days, including the day before and the day after the exact Solstice. At the Turning Of The Ages these timings are calling us to tune in and receive new ways to honor and celebrate a growing conscious relationship with these seasonal cycles. For those in the Southern Hemisphere this is the time of Winter Solstice and the beginning of a new seasonal cycle.
The Moon occultation over the Pleiades is part of six year series of occulations that are occurring due to the 19 year cycle of the Moon known as the Lunar Standstill. The Lunar Standstill has an exterior and interior process also called the Major and Minor Lunar Standstill. This series ends in 2010 and won’t reoccur until 2022 near the half way point or Minor Lunar Standstill. http://miscellaneous-sonstiges.blogspot.com/2008/07/pleiades-occultations-by-moon-2009.html (See the May 2009 Archives for more about the Pleiades)
Jun 21, Sunday. Happy Father’s Day.
I don't care how poor a man is; if he has family, he's rich. ~From Colonel Potter in M*A*S*H
I cannot think of any need in childhood as strong as the need for a father's protection. ~ Sigmond Freud
My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me. ~Jim Valvano
It doesn't matter who my father was; it matters who I remember he was. ~ Anne Sexton
He didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it. ~ Clarence Budington Kelland
Still within the Solstice window and very near the Cancer New Moon Venus and Mars (15 Taurus) meet at 6:10 am Pacific Time marking the second exact meeting of Venus and Mars this year though they have been within 10 degrees since April 10 and remain within 10 degrees until July 18. Venus and Mars are still within three degrees as June ends. (See June 19 for more)

Jun 22, Monday. The Cancer New Moon (1 Cancer 30) is happening within the June Solstice Solar Gate. This New Moon is occurring near the center of the Celestial Sacred Hoop of Stars. (see article) This New Moon is reminding us of the importance of mending the Sacred Hoop symbolizing the four directions, the four races of humanity, the four seasons, the four elements and all that is contained within the Earth and Sky. The Sacred Hoop symbolizes our familial global connection to all life and when we forgive the unforgivable deeds of the past (whether they are ones we committed or they were committed by others) we mend the Hoop and create a safe, nurturing, space for healing and transforming all we encounter through the power of love.
Mending the Sacred Hoop
A Prayer of Forgiveness
http://walden.mvp.net/~gypsy/webdoc12.htm
I speak through the gentle winds to touch your heart...to hear the words of songs that are coming to you. "Open up your voice" it said, speak softly and gently "
as I am praying for you and your journey...each and everyone of you ...
Join the threads of forgiveness.
I cannot stand here alone any longer,
I am reaching with my hands, beckoning you to come and join me from every direction.
I will forgive you.
My tears are deep -- they are flooding the earth as they flow from my eyes that have seen more
than I ever thought they would behold. They seek beauty in all things.
Listen softly
Pray softly
Sing softly
I will rejoice as we all now can stand equal in this sacred hoop of unity ...
I am the Weaver of songs
I am the Weaver of color
I am the weaver of words
I am the weaver of forgiveness.
Help me, join me, to mend this sacred hoop.
Share your gifts that I have blessed you with to help me.
Also worth noting is this New Moon is at 26 degrees declination meaning it is 2.5 degrees beyond where the Sun can reach in its maximum declination at the Solstice (23.5 degrees). This is referred to as an out-of- bounds Moon meaning its out side the boundaries of the furthest reach of the Sun. The Sun at the time of the New Moon will be at 23.25 degrees north declination. In addition to that the New Moon is near its perigee or closest approach to the Earth. The exact perigee will occur 15.1 hours after the exact New Moon creating higher than normal tides as well as unusual weather patterns. This event is also occurring at the Galactic Edge where we reach beyond the known reality past our Galaxy to receive any incoming inter-galactic downloads beaming into the center of the Sacred Hoop that are being illuminated by the Sun and transmitted by the Moon.
Jun 23, Tuesday. The Sun (2 Cancer) is opposite Pluto (2 Capricorn) marking the mid-point of Pluto’s retrograde cycle (retrogrades symbolize a deepening within process). Once each year Sun and Pluto reach opposition signaling a fruition point, a place where illumination and understanding are possible. This is especially true when we are open to facing and embracing our deepest fears, recognizing them as great teachers that are here to ultimately help us experience liberation and transformation.
Jun 24, Wednesday. St. John’s Day. This day honors and celebrates the birth of John the Baptist and the Summer Solstice. In ancient times it was actually the eve of June 24 when the bonfires were lit and the celebrations began. St. John’s Day is the most important day of the year to the Free Masons and Knight’s Templars among others. They regarded St. John the Baptist as more important than Jesus causing some researchers to speculate about the reasons. We may never know for sure why Saint John was so important, however, we do know Summer Solstice has been a critical point in the seasonal cycle for eons of time as described below. http://www.republiquelibre.org/cousture/STJEAN2.HTM and http://www.astrologycom.com/stjohnbaptist.html
The high festival of the Masons is on the day they call St. John's day; but every enlightened Mason must know that holding their festival on this day has no reference to the person called St. John, and that it is only to disguise the true cause of holding it on this day, that they call the day by that name. As there were Masons, or at least Druids, many centuries before the time of St. John, if such person ever existed, the holding their festival on this day must refer to some cause totally unconnected with John.
The case is, that the day called St. John's day, is the 24th of June, and is what is called Midsummer-day. The Sun is then arrived at the summer solstice; and, with respect to his meridional altitude, or height at high noon, appears for some days to be of the same height. The astronomical longest day, like the shortest day, is not every year, on account of leap year, on the same numerical day, and therefore the 24th of June is always taken for Midsummer-day; and it is in honor of the Sun, which has then arrived at his greatest height in our hemisphere, and not any thing with respect to St. John, that this annual festival of the Masons, taken from the Druids, is celebrated on Midsummer-day.
Customs will often outlive the remembrance of their origin, and this is the case with respect to a custom still practiced in Ireland, where the Druids flourished at the time they flourished in Britain. On the eve of Saint John's day, that is, on the eve of Midsummer-day (the exact solstice has now shifted to June 20 or 21), the Irish light fires on the tops of the hills. This can have no reference to St. John; but it has emblematical reference to the Sun, which on that day is at its highest summer elevation, and might in common language be said to have arrived at the top of the hill. http://www.infidels.org/library/historical/thomas_paine/origin_free-masonry.html
Plus today, the Moon is moves into Leo transmitting the mysteries of radical radiant self love, self-confidence, self-approval, and self-acceptance as important keys to remembering our divine essence.
Jun 25, Thursday. The Moon passes by the Beehive Cluster within 1.9 degrees and is visible approaching Regulus. The Beehive Cluster, or M44 as the astronomers have named it, was also known as Praesepe, a Latin word for manger. It is an open cluster (one of the largest in this area of the sky) of stars located at about 7 degrees into the seasonal sign Leo and located in the constellation of the Crab (a.k.a Cancer). These stars do look very much like a swarm of stars with more than 40 stars visible to the naked eye as a cloudy patch under dark skies.
The Beehive Cluster was one the first objects that Galileo studied with his telescope. The best way to find this cluster is to first locate the twin stars Pollux and Castor. Then looking left or to the east locate Regulus at the base of the backward question mark. The Beehive Cluster lies somewhere in between Pollux and Regulus and is difficult to see unless you are under a very dark sky because even though it is a 3rd magnitude cluster it is spread about a degree and half across the sky with its light spreading over an area bigger than three full Moons. Generally, it is easier to spot if you have binoculars. However, the young new Moon will be nearby just after Sunset as the sky darkens acting as a marker to help you locate these stars. At this time of year Castor and Pollux will be setting depending on the time of the Sunset where you are and your horizon line.
Some of the sky lore of this constellation is that it represents the crab that bit the heel of Hercules http://www.constellationsofwords.com/Constellations/Hercules.html during his fight with the Lernean Hydra , and was placed amongst the stars in gratitude by Juno, the enemy of Hercules. [Robson*, p.33.] In ancient times this cluster often served to predict the weather; if not crystal clear inclement weather might be on the way. Pliny said, "If Praesaepe is not visible in a clear sky it is a presage of a violent storm".
Jun 26, Friday. Mercury (16 Gemini) squares Saturn (16 Virgo) and the Moon passes within 3.1 degrees SSW of Regulus as it moves into Virgo. The energies today are focused on a conscious awareness of the emerging structure within the web of life. The archetypal expression of Virgo is expressed in part through the imagery of Spider Woman who is the weaver of the web. The web connects what we know from the past with what we are creating in the future. It is all interconnected just as every part of the spider’s web leads us back to the source or center. Everything Spider needs comes to her when she has constructed her web properly. Is the web of your life working for you? Is it bringing you all you need and desire? If not, what thoughts, words and actions can you take to reconstruct or reweave a new web that resonates with the fulfillment of your personal divine design?
Jun 27, Saturday. With a waning Moon the Bootid Meteor Shower is favorable this year. This meteor shower occurs from June 26th until July 2nd and peaks on June 27th. This meteor shower has been known to produce a hundred or more meteors per hour. If you know how to find Arcturus that is the general direction of the meteor shower. Follow the arc of the handle of the Big Dipper. The arc leads you right to this bright red star. This time of year about 10 pm local time Arcturus is overhead.
Jun 28, Sunday. The Moon is returning to Libra for the second time this month. (See June 1) Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune are all now retrograde and are still hanging out near the 26 degree mark of Aquarius meaning the impact of last month’s exact conjunction is still at play especially for those with planets or angles between 23 and 28 degrees of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio. This tight connection of these three planets lasts through August. Jupiter starts to pull away in late August but does not get more than 7 degrees from Neptune or 4 degrees from Chiron for the rest of 2009. (See April and May Archives for more about this triple line-up.
Jun 29, Monday. The First Quarter Moon represents the balance between light and dark and is the most visible and rapid growth phase of the Moon, crossing the threshold that accelerates whatever process is already in motion. This is the best time of the month to put ideas and plans into action.
The Libra First Quarter Moon (8 Libra) activates further awareness around the mysteries of conscious equal partnership in ways that support our evolutionary process. We exist in relationship to everything in life including the Earth the Sky, the plants and animals, the seasons and cycles, each other, ourselves and all of life seen and unseen. What actions can you take at this time to either further your current relationships or to end them if it is time? More importantly what actions can you take to better understand and deepen your relationship with yourself? The Libra Full Moon was April 7, 2009. The Libra New Moon is on Sept 26, 2009 and the Libra Last Quarter Moon is January 7, 2010 again following the pattern mentioned in the June 15 Timings.

Jun 30, Tuesday. The Libra Moon passes by Spica (3 degrees SSW) for the second time this month before moving into Scorpio. (See June 1 and 3)
Mercury (23 Gemini) is now zodiacally aligned with three main stars marking the belt of Orion or "the String of Pearls” as mentioned in the June 18 Timings. Pearls are associated with the feminine principle, the Moon, wisdom and perfection, the third eye of Buddha, pure intentions and represent the crystallization of light, enlightenment, the generative power of the waters. The Taoist see the Sun opening doorways and Mercury is a messenger bringing the messages from the stars to us when we open to receive them. (*The Living Stars by Dr. Eric Morse **An Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Traditional Symbols by J.C. Cooper) http://www.skyscript.co.uk/orion.html
Note: on July 26 Venus will reach zodiacal alignment with these stars and on August 13 - 19. The waning Moon is visible about 3 degrees from Mars and both are visible in the morning sky before Sunrise on August 15. This is the date that the Waitaha prophecy predicts will be a pivotal moment in history. As mentioned in the May Celestial Timings Drunvalo spoke about the August 15, 2009 prophecy in his book Serpent of Light;
This event may or may not be known publicly, but it will be the beginning of a new human dream, a dream almost identical to the Mayan belief that the heavens will open and our brothers and sisters of the universe will reveal themselves. ~Drunvalo Melchizadek
In July and August I will have more about the Waitaha prophecy. Meanwhile this will get you started.
... We are Waitaha. We are the water containers of the Creator therefore we have been imbued with the many forms of waters containing the many gifts of all that is in the Universe" ... p. 147 Whispers of Waitaha http://www.songofwaitaha.co.nz/buy-song-of-waitaha.html
