July 2009 Celestial Timings

At the beginning of time, when the world had just begun, the state of man and http://www.barrylong.org/images/BL_Pic.jpg woman was very different. The beginning of time and the world is relatively recent compared with the beginning of the universe or the Earth. The Earth is not the world. The world was built by man. The world began 12,000 years ago when man identified for the first time with physical death. At this point time began, providing the sense of tomorrow and continuity on which the world is built. Before this there was only past – extending back to the first life forms. And before life on Earth, there was neither time nor past. There was only the present, the presence of the timeless.

Time is not a process of things getting better. Time is a process of things getting worse. And things have gotten a lot worse for man and woman and their love since they started to slip into time and self-forgetfulness around 10,000 BC.

You might say this sounds like myth. It is myth, but not myth as ‘fable’ or ‘fiction’. What I’m going to describe is the truth. True myth is the only means we have left of communicating the truth – the original state of man and woman on Earth. So please be as still and receptive as you can. Suspend your critical mind while I outline for you the myth or truth of man and woman – your own original state, which you are striving to regain by loving and living in time today.

Around 12,000 years ago the individual bodies of man and woman were permanently surrounded by a magnificent, golden orb or halo. Radiating out from the solar plexus, it extended visibly above the head, into the ground and beyond the reach of the outstretched arms. The woman’s orb was a slightly deeper gold than the man’s. But both had the same dazzling sublime and beauteous quality…

Cayelin's Comments: I felt inspired to include the above quote from Barry Long as it supports much of what the current Celestial Timings have been speaking about around the mysteries of Time and the converging of the many timelines that have contributed to the challenges we face today. The Timewave Zero concept as outlined by Terrence McKenna tell us the convergence of the timelines is continuing to escalate our experience of “novel” events. This is partly due to the speeded up effect reflected in how knowledge is now doubling in a few months as compared to hundreds and thousands of years just a few centuries ago. Making sense of Time and how to best work with it effectively now can NOT be figured out logically as our experience of Time can shift moment to moment. Some may even find themselves momentarily in another time as described by this article. Time themes will be further explored throughout the July Timings and in the months ahead as we continue to experience the rapidly accelerating unpredictable nature of current Time.

String Theory predicts the existence of more than the 3 space dimensions and 1 time another time dimensional imagedimension we are all familiar with. According to string theory, there are additional dimensions that we are unfamiliar with because they are curled up into tiny complicated shapes that can only be seen on tiny scales. If we could shrink to this tiny, Planck-sized scale we could see that at every 3D point in space, we can also explore 6 additional dimensions. The 5 Epagomenal Days Thoth won so Nut could bear her children and are regarded as the 5 days “not of the year”. Similar to the Mayan ‘day out of time” these five days are a time out of time reset of the calendar or clock. The Day Out of Time and Mayan New Year.
On the Mayan Calendar of 13 Moons, July 25th, …is no day of the week and no day of the month. There are thirteen moons of 28 days, or 364 days plus one day, the extra day is the The-Day-Out-of-Time. July 26 marks the Mayan New Year. The actual Moon cycle takes 27.3 days to return to its starting place and 29.5 days to return to any given phase (New or Full Moon etc) 28 days it the mid-point between these two cycles. More here

July 1, Wednesday. July starts with lots of radical revolutionary energy beginning with the Uranus (26 Pisces 37) station retrograde creating yet another shift in our perceptual experience. This often manifests through unexpected, possibly dramatic events depending on what is needed to facilitate change.

Then Venus (26 Taurus) squares Neptune and Jupiter (26 Aquarius) and Mercury trines Neptune and squares Uranus adding to the possibility of significant perceptual shifts through events of “extreme novelty” as the old timelines continue to collapse and converge into the Now. The recent Star Trek movie is a fascinating demonstration of how our future selves can assist us in rewriting our experience of Time. It is helpful to go within for greater awareness of the changes occurring internally and know that whatever events and insights are taking place they are intended as gifts of change and evolution. Also today the Sun (10 Cancer) is now zodiacally aligned with Alhena in the constellation of the Twins (a.k.a. Gemini inside the Sacred Hoop…see Difference between Signs and Constellations and July 8). Alhena is located in the feet of Pollux in the Twins constellation. Castor and Pollux were identical twins with one very important difference. Castor was mortal and Pollux was immortal. These twins were inseparable until Castor was killed during a cattle raid. Pollux was in such grief for his twin that Zeus allowed the Twins to alternate their days between Hades and Olympus.

WasatAlhena means Bright Foot of Gemini, or the Proudly Marching One and marks the feet of the immortal Pollux. Alhena is also linked to the wound in the tendon Achilles. In his book The Living Stars, Eric Morse tells us that Alhena gives artistic abilities, especially with the written or spoken word. Plus this star also lends skill in the art of peaceful negotiation and moving things forward.

With Sun aligned here the energies of creative self-expression that move life forward are being illuminated and activated. July 2, Thursday. Mercury (28 Gemini) is zodiacally aligned with Polaris (See July 29) and is crossing the Galactic Cross (zero Cancer) tomorrow located near the Galactic Edge. Mercury’s passage here further energizes what was set into motion at last month’s Solstice. This means Transformational Messenger Mercury is bringing through information from beyond our Galaxy. This is an excellent time to tune in and meditate upon what the message Polarisis for you? Asking the part of yourself that knows how to receive the message with intention and then journaling your thoughts images and impressions can be greatly enlightening.

The idea is to write about whatever thoughts or images you get uncensored. This is an example message for all beings who are holding light and love for the planet.

This session begins with a chant. We know your heart. We know your heart. We know your heart…We know the goodness and kindness of your heart. We know your quest to live from your heart - to live from the wisdom and knowing of your gentle heart no matter how challenging your outer circumstances are.

July 3, Friday. Today the Earth is furthest from the Sun in its annual cycle. This is known as aphelion. The Earth is closest to the Sun or at perihelion every year in early January. The date for the aphelion varies between July 2 and July 6. For example in 2007 the aphelion was on July 6, in 2008 it occurred on July 2 and this year it is July 3.

Moon Moves into Sagittarius energizing the quest for truth and meaning as Mercury moves into Cancer passing the center of the Galactic cross traveling through this area of the sky until July 17. (See July 2)

July 4, Saturday. Independence Day for the USA. This historic day anchored a conscious fireworks http://catcode.com/oly_d500/sja98/fw-13-full.jpg intention of Independence for all people and was inspired by the anagram for America: “I Am Race.” This suggests one of the original divine intentions for the land of the Americas is to support the freedom and independence of the pure expression of the “I Am” quality within every individual on the planet. The Declaration of Independence is a powerful intention document that was set forth on July 4, 1776. This is an intention that has yet to be completely fulfilled. The second paragraph of the document has the essence of the intention.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

The intent of those who formed this Declaration was to create a divinely inspired government that supported all the people, not just the wealthy, self-serving elite groups. This Declaration states we all are created equal, no matter where we live, and we all have the same rights as human beings. All life is sacred, no matter how it might look. It is time for us to unite as a global community honoring and respecting each other and all life on our beloved Earth. The last line of the Declaration of Independence is profound, addressing the commitment of the signers. “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the Protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.” The strength of this commitment provided the pathway for the United States of America to gain its freedom and independence in spite of impossible odds. Now is the time to ask ourselves, what is our personal and collective commitment to living and experiencing the fulfillment of this declaration including equality of rights, peace, prosperity and freedom for everyone here and now?

Sky & Telescope diagramSaturday, July 4 The Moon is .56 degrees NNW of the Behenian star Antares in the first of two occultations this month. (See July 31 for details) Also today Mercury (2 Cancer) is opposite Pluto (2 Capricorn). With Moon occulting Antares and Mercury opposite Pluto on this Independence Day whatever has been in the shadow preventing the conscious fulfillment of the Declaration of Independence can be brought to light. The “unalienable rights” of all humans to experience “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness” established the intention for a new divine matrix 233 years ago and that intent is still awaiting a more complete fruition. Here at the Turning of the Ages it is now Time. All systems of government that do NOT uphold this divine intent are being called to change including the United States of America. Tuning into this intention and asking the part of the you that knows to assist in envisioning a world that upholds the integrity and joyous fulfillment of all life everywhere is a simple yet powerful way to add your intention and conscious awareness to the fulfillment of your divine design and that of the Earth too!

July 5, Sunday. It is interesting to note that July 4 was the date the Sun zodiacally aligned with Sirius http://www.aitrui.com/1A-Images-Foundation/a1-History-art-images/SIRIUS-2.GIF the fixed star Sirius in 1776. Later today or in the early morning hours tomorrow (depending on your time zone) our Sun aligns with Sirius the brightest fixed star in our sky. Sirius (a.k.a. Sothis in ancient Egypt) played a major role in the health, wealth and fertility of the ancient Egyptians because the heliacal rise of Sirius marked the annual flooding of the Nile, prior to the completion of the Aswan dam. The alignment of our Sun with Sirius is a significant yearly event as our Sun directly transmits the energy of Sirius, the energy that helped to birth a new nation dedicated to upholding equality (equal value) and freedom as basic human rights. We can consciously draw upon these energies to further awaken our own awareness and abilities to enliven the genuine fulfillment of this 233 year old vision.

Venus is moving into Gemini passing by the Pleiades just 6.7 degrees SSE in the morning sky. Once each year Venus passes the Pleiadian Stargate and crosses into the Sacred Hoop and will travel through this area of the sky until August 22. Most of the Sacred Hoop is invisible to us now due to the Sun’s transit here however if you are up before the Sun while it is still dark this morning you will see Venus very close to the Pleiades.

Whenever planets pass through the Sky’s Sacred Hoop we are reminded of our interconnectedness with all life and the importance of this time for mending our personal and collective place within the Sacred Hoop. We are all a part of this Hoop and the Hoop is a part of us. Willingness to release and forgive all the hurts and wrongs of the past is an essential step in mending the Hoop of Life. Once the bell has been rung it cannot be unrung, the deed is done. Even though we cannot undo the wrongs of the past, we can have compassion for all the wounding and a willingness to heal and move constructively forward as a global family. No one race, culture or person has escaped being a victim or a perpetrator on some level of experience whether knowingly or unknowingly. So it is time to take responsibility for our own experience and our actions; moving out of blame and moving forward toward profound forgiveness and thus transforming the wounds into the medicine we carry.

This is further emphasized by the Moon’s move into Capricorn crossing the Galactic Cross near Galactic Center and conjuncting Pluto. (See July 8)

July 6, Monday. Mars (26 Taurus) Squares Neptune and Jupiter (26 Aquarius). Mars is the active masculine force and in Taurus this energy is about actively engaging the principles of scared pleasure and deep intimacy. Jupiter expands and Neptune accesses deep intuition and inner knowing that does not necessarily follow logic and reason. This combination of Mars squaring Jupiter and Neptune is contradictory. This is because Neptune requires Mars to take time to go within to receive inner guidance and that is counter to what is natural for Mars in our current cultural understanding of these energies. When Jupiter and Neptune come together the mystical possibilities are greatly magnified if Mars is willing listen to inner guidance before taking action. The Fullest Waxing Rise of the Capricorn Moon is tonight.

Lunar Eclipse...this eclipse will only appear like image on far right July 7, Tuesday. The exact Capricorn Full Moon (15 Capricorn) Penumbral Lunar Eclipse is in the early morning hours 5:21 am Eastern and 2:21 am Pacific located at the outer degrees of the Galactic Gateway where new, creatively-inspired energies pour into this dimensional realm. Capricorn is the archetypal energy most familiar with how Spirit manifests into form, and how to efficiently, effectively and responsibly administrate these new forms of manifestation for the benefit of the generations to come.

This is an important time to ceremonially honor the wisdom of the Grandmothers inviting them to help guide us through these rapidly changing times. This opens the Eclipse Cauldron that lasts until August 5 when we have the second Lunar Eclipse and the window closes. Many people experience and in-between the worlds altered reality or feeling during an Eclipse Window. If this is happening to you be gentle with yourself and trust your inner guidance as external reality often doesn’t make logical sense during this time

July 8, Wednesday. Mercury (10 Cancer) is at perihelion or its closest approach to the Sun this year while it is also traveling with the Sun until July 22 when it rises as an evening star. Mercury has reached zodiacal alignment with Alhena in the constellation of the Twins. The Sun was here on July 1 and this area of the sky is still not visible to us for a few more weeks. The two main stars of the Twins, Castor and Pollux, mark the outer rim of the Sacred Hoop. In ancient times, twins were both feared and worshipped, often representing the duality of the good twin/bad twin syndrome. Mythically twins are often endowed with great skills sometimes quarreling with each other. This often led to one twin killing the other, usually the evil twin kills the good twin. This symbolizes the position of every individual, divided or united within the self. (See July 1)

The Good Twin/Bad Twin duality is worthy of contemplation. There is an original Star Trek episode that first aired in October of 1966 called the “Enemy Within”. A http://www.joplinglobeonline.com/blogs/scott_blog/images/kirk.jpgtransporter malfunction splits Captain Kirk into two captains, the Good Captain and the Bad or evil Captain. It is a brilliant example of why we must integrate our shadow side. Spock notices the Good Captain is losing his power to make decisions and concludes it is an opportunity to examine the roles of good and evil. The evil side of Captain Kirk displays very decisive thoughtless hostility, lust, brutality and violence. His positive side expresses compassion, love and tenderness but lacks the decisive power necessary for in-the-moment decisions. Spock observes that Captain Kirk needs his dark side to make the decisions an exceptional leader is able to make. It is Kirk’s so-called evil side when properly disciplined and integrated that is vital to his strength and ability to be a star ship captain.

At this point, Dr. McCoy assures him, “We all have our darker side – we need it – it’s half of what we are. It’s not really ugly – it’s human.” He goes onto say that Kirk’s dark side is what makes Captain Kirk who he is because his strength and ability to command exists in his dark side. Without his dark side Kirk is confused, forgetful and unable to make decisions. Kirk’s good side was able to recognize that he needed to reintegrate with his dark side. However, his dark side remained stubbornly convinced that he did not need the good side and tried to kill it off.

We all have this twin energy or duality within us. It is what makes us human. With the Sun and Mercury passing through the constellation of the Twins for the next few days it is worthwhile to contemplate how well we are doing with the integration of our good and so-called evil side. Integration of these two sides empowers us with strength and the ability to command the direction of our lives and to have compassion, caring and love in the process.

As the Moon moves into Aquarius it gives us an opportunity to step back and see the cosmic overview and where we are still integrating the shadow parts of ourselves.

July 9, Thursday. The Sun (17 Cancer) sextiles Saturn (17 Virgo) indicating Saturn has reached its full speed ahead direct motion. This will be most strongly felt by those who have planets or angles in the mid to late degrees of the Mutable signs or as we say in Shamanic Astrology the In Service to Spirit signs (Virgo, Pisces, Sagittarius, Gemini). If you have felt like you have been in a standstill for the past few months there are a few signs indicating this is beginning to shift at least somewhat as Uranus, Neptune, Chiron and Jupiter are still in their stand still time. Saturn remains in direct motion until January 12, 2010 stationing retrograde at 4 Libra.

July 10, Friday. Jupiter and Neptune (26 Aquarius) make their second exact conjunction and Chiron (25 Aquarius) is less than a degree away. Plus, the Moon is meeting with all three. In the April and May Celestial Timings archives there is additional information about this rare triple alignment of Neptune, Chiron, and Jupiter and its connection with the Timewave Zero concept as described by Terrence McKenna. In essence, this planetary alignment represents a nexus, connecting the ancient/future in the here and now. All the timelines are converging now. The portals and pathways of these varying expressions of time, from past to future are all collapsing into the present moment. Past woundings are being transformed through Chiron’s healing gift, bridging ancient/future knowledge in ways that are more accessible to us NOW, intended to support the present moment realization (Jupiter) of our future visions and dreams (Neptune).

http://image2.onlineauction.com/auctions//35151/vkxm-897792-1.jpgThe recent Star Trek movie that came out in May 2009 is a great example – and collective confirmation – of the re-writing of a familiar timeline all Star Trek fans can appreciate. Another movie, The Kid (a Disney production), with Bruce Willis is a brilliant demonstration of how our future self can orchestrate healing and getting us back on track with our divine design by meeting our past younger self. In this case the younger aspect was almost eight years old and was reminding the almost 40 year old present aspect (played by Bruce Willis) of their childhood dreams.

The encounter ultimately creates a course correction for Bruce Willis’ character and assists his younger self to navigate some difficult times. Again it is most interesting to note that these encounters and course corrections were literally orchestrated by the future self. This has some similarity to what happens in the recent Star Trek movie.

There are many movies and TV shows that have contemplated the many varying aspects of time. Movies like Brigadoon, Somewhere in Time, Time Bandits, Time Cops, Time Travelers, The Time Machine, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Askaban, The Butterfly Effect, and Groundhog Day are but a few examples. TV shows like Twilight Zone, Time Tunnel, Quantum Leap, Sliders, Life on Mars, Stargate and StarTrek (to name just a few) all had elements of Time travel or Time shifts either as their premise or there were certain episodes that looked at issues of Time Travel and the altering of Timelines. Sometimes these are experiences as Time Slips where a person slips into another time and depending on the story being told may actually change the existing Timeline. These movies and shows are wonderful to watch in ceremonial receptivity as they act to shift our perceptions of time and how we experience the possibilities of the past and future. When past and future meet in the here and now it can facilitate great healing that leads to new potentials aligned with our authentic divine design when we are willing to choose it.

Then Moon moves into Pisces transmitting the mysteries of radical compassion and selfless service that supports this profound heart healing of the past, present and future timelines.

July 11, Saturday. Mars moves into Gemini appearing just 4.6 degrees SSE of the Pleiades in the early morning sky. Some esoteric information claims the fixed star Alcyone “The Central One” of the seven primary stars, a.k.a. the Seven Sisters of the Pleiades, is the location of our Galactic Library or Galactic Records. Alcyone is often seen as representing the whole group of the Pleiadian stars situated within a one degree span of the sky.

The Gemini mysteries as expressed through the masculine archetype shows up as Kokopeli or Thoth or Hermes the trickster who is also a bringer of news and information as well as a guardian of the crossroads that lead to the secret knowledge of the Emerald Tablets. When this knowledge is comprehended it forever changes our experience of reality.

July 12, Sunday. The Sun (20 Cancer) is moving to the outer edge of the Sacred Hoop traveling through the Constellation of the Twins for the next few days. There is a fixed double star on the right arm of the Northern Twin (Castor) known as Wasat or Al Wasat meaning the “Middle” in Arabic. Some feel it is in the middle of the constellation of the Twins and others feel it has more to do with its proximity to the ecliptic near the central circle. Al Wasat is associated with the ability to speak clearly with authority.

Another fixed star in the Twins near this zodiacal degree is Lota. This star is located between the shoulders of the Twins suggesting the “qualities of cooperation, of 'two heads are better than one' and of “associative thinking.” Associative thinking has a dual nature and is a vital quality in connecting and integrating varying threads or ideas and concepts such as in an astrological or tarot card reading. The down side of associative-thinking is linked with pathological states such as paranoia and the creation of unrealistic stories that are put together from unrelated events. In the ancient view of these stars, Lota and Al Wasat, were often linked with those who experienced a 'nervous breakdown' suggesting this is how the shadow of these stars operate. However, using the gift of associative thinking there is also the concept of the breakdown that facilitates a break through to a whole new healthier place. With the Sun illuminating these stars this is a great time to utilize associative-thinking with the intent to reach new insights that are liberating and freeing and to speak with loving authority from our inner truth for the purpose of liberating humanity from the bonds of a fear based reality.

July 13, Monday. Moon conjuncts Uranus (26 Aquarius) just before it moves into Aries and the Sun conjuncts Mercury (21 Gemini) marking the center point of the psychopomp phase of the Mercury cycle. A psychopomp is a guide or conductor of souls to the other worlds. Hermes who is the Greek counterpart to Mercury was one who could come and go without restriction from the underworld, the celestial world, and this world. He was the only God who had this kind of freedom and thus, he was the messenger transcending and traveling freely in all realms and dimensions delivering the messages from deep within the psyche.

One way to engage this timing is by listening from the heart with compassion (Moon and Uranus in Pisces) for the messages that Mercury is transmitting from the otherworlds without expectation of how these messages might come forth. With the trickster Mercury, it is most likely whatever emerges from this phase of the cycle will probably not be anything like what we might expect or imagine. July 14, Tuesday. Venus passes 3.1 degrees N of Aldebaran (10 Gemini), the eye of the Bull sky map locating Aldebaran in the Hyades visible in the early morning sky. Aldebaran is one of the four royal stars along with Antares, Regulus, and Fomalhaut. These four stars were considered of prime importance in ancient times. Venus passes by Aldebaran once each year. This is a time to tune in to this stargate portal also known as the silver gate to certain ancient cultures. Aldebaran acts a key star in accessing the light codes and information coming in from our beyond our Galaxy. For those who have planets, angles or nodes near 10 Gemini you have a personal connection with this star suggesting that whatever you do must be in utmost integrity or whatever success is achieved will be short lived. Just as all the archetypal energies of the signs have their purpose as well as their shadow expression so do the energies of the constellations and the individual stars within them. Aldebaran’s gifts include the ability to see what others may not see, with the intent to energize compassion, love, and the willingness to grow and evolve through the wise use of free will and reconnection to Spirit.

July 15, Wednesday. The Aries Last Quarter Moon (23 Aries) is near the fixed star Baiten Katos in the constellation of Cetus the whale. Baten Kaitos (22 Aries) is located on the neck of the whale linking its long neck to the body. However, in Arabic Baten Kaitos means whale’s belly or "sea monster's belly." This giant orange star is about 260 light years from Earth and shines 260 times more brightly than our Sun though it looks like a star to us because it is so far away.

The constellation Cetus is named after the whale or sea serpent in Greek myth sent to swallow Andromdea for the transgression of her mother Queen Cassiopeia. Cassiopeia bragged that she was more beautiful than the daughters of Nereus (a.k.a. Neptune), the Sea God. Then when Neptune sent Cetus to punish Cassiopiea and her people she sent her daughter Andromeda for the sacrifice, instead of stepping up and taking responsibility for what she had created through her boasting.

With the Aries last quarter Moon near the “belly of the whale” this is a Time for utilizing the courage of Aries to embrace the initiation within the whale’s belly and to take responsibility for who and where we are now. Jonah and the Whale, and Pinnochio are excellent examples of hero’s who find themselves literally in the “belly of the whale” having to face whatever it is they have been trying to avoid. This often occurs through circumstances and events beyond our control that take us beyond everyday ordinary reality. When we surrender to the process, magic happens, and it brings us to a new beneficial place as was also ultimately the case for Jonah and Pinnochio.

July 16, Thursday. Moon moves into Taurus and Mercury (25 Gemini) trines Uranus (25 Pisces). This unpredictable contrary energy mirrors all our fears, insecurities, self-doubt, and hatred. July 17, Friday. Moon occults the Pleiades once again activating this stargate. (See Celestial Timings Archives 2009 especially May for more details) Mercury moves into Leo until August 2. Mercury symbolizes the mind, our perceptions, our beliefs, and how we communicate and creatively express ourselves. Mercury in Leo, when healthy, is a place of great confidence, courage, and strength looking ahead and announcing to others what they see. The mind moves quickly in the fire element, and Mercury is moving quickly through this area of the sky speeding through Leo in about 16 days. This is a time to trust your intuitive knowing and to act spontaneously in accordance with your inner guidance even when it does not seem logical or rational.

July 18, Saturday. Moon conjuncts Mars (3 Gemini) at 3:05 pm Pacific and then catches up to Venus (13 Gemini) at 9:06 pm PDT at the 4th gate/4th chakra. This is where Inanna releases her golden breast plate known as ‘come man come’ relinquishing all the ways she no longer loves herself. The 4th chakra is our life force generator connecting us with the energy of the cosmos and governs the emotional realms including love, kindness, generosity, compassion, and the shadowed aspects of lust, fraud, indecision, anxiety, longing, impartiality, arrogance, incompetence, discrimination and defiance. The best approach in ceremonially releasing any distortions you may have around loving yourself or others is to follow your heart, listen to your heart knowing and make your choices from there.

Also today Sun trines retrograde Uranus. When the outer planets trine the Sun they are always near either the retrograde station or about to station direct. Uranus is still barely moving in the sky hanging out at the same degree all month. Chiron, Neptune and Jupiter are all stopped in the sky having gone retrograde within a few days of each other. This has created a feeling of suspension, or a Still Point that will likely last until the final eclipse on August 5. Now is the time to be patient and trust the process.

July 19, Sunday. The waning Moon moves into Cancer just before midnight tonight EDT crossing the Galactic Gateway at the center of sacred hoop. Currently, this is where the June Solstice is aligned with the intersection of the Milky Way Band and the ecliptic. The Moon’s monthly passage by here is activating and unlocking our DNA codes and intensifying our personal transformative processes creating new pathways and possibilities. This process is accelerated when we visit sacred sites. Hunbatz Men a modern Mayan Daykeeper, says visiting sacred sites activates our DNA codes and strengthens our energy bodies for the coming transition at the end of the Great Cycle. July 20, Monday. Mercury (6 Leo) sextiles Mars (6 Gemini) as we enter the three day New Moon Eclipse window. The messenger Mercury is informing the divine Masculine Mars about the importance of self-love and self-nurturing. This Eclipse falls at the center of three eclipses with two Lunar Eclipses surrounding tomorrow’s Solar Eclipse creating and especially long eclipse window adding to the feeling of being between the worlds. Tomorrow’s eclipse just so happens to be the longest total eclipse of this century at the closest perigee (closest approach of the Moon and the Earth) this year 6.3 hours before the New Moon at 7:35 pm PDT affecting the tides (higher than usual tides expected) and weather patterns. The next long eclipse to compare with this one won’t happen until June 13, 2114.

This eclipse is not visible in the western time zones as it is occurring late on July 21 and during the day on July 22 in the Eastern Time Zones. In some areas the length of totality of the eclipse will exceed 6 minutes. On the island of Akuseke-shima totality lasts 6 minutes and 20 seconds and at Kitaio Jima totality lasts 6 minutes and 35 seconds. July 21, Tuesday. New Moon Solar Eclipse 29 Cancer 27total solar eclipse (in some time zones today and in others tomorrow) and Venus (16 Gemini) squares Saturn (16 Virgo). The eclipse energy begins in Leo and is exact at 29 Cancer 27...this means the energy of the 2008 Leo Solar Eclipse is also present as the Nodal axis is still in Zero degrees of Leo (South Node) and Aquarius (North Node)...this means we have another opportunity to claim our divine birth right as the sons and daughters of God/Goddess/Great Spirit/Great Mystery. What was energized in the 2008 is receiving another boost from this eclipse adding the elements of responsible nurturing and compassion for the family of humanity.

Revisiting the energies of the August 2008 eclipse supports the necessary shift into the Cancer domain. Without self-love as our basis we can NOT truly have healthy expressions of family and community. These lines from the Fellowship of the Ring speak to the Total Solar Eclipse experience. In a Solar Eclipse the Moon passes between the Sun and the Earth casting a shadow over the light of the Sun. Night descends into day then after a few moments the light returns as the shadow of the Moon moves off the Sun literally enacting the line from the above verse that says “A light from the shadows shall spring”.

The sword or blade in the next line is a symbol of divine authority, divine kingship and the responsibility that comes with embodying divine power. Working with the imagery of renewing the blade and the light springing from the shadow speaks to the fall and then return of the Divine King and Queen – it is time to remember we are all divinely created and we all have the right and responsibility to determine our own life path as the masters of our destiny. In a Solar Eclipse the Moon moves between the Earth and the Sun blocking the light of the Sun at certain locations on the Earth. The ancients tracked Eclipses and felt they were some of the most powerful indicators of unexpected and unusual change. This was especially true for Total Solar Eclipses when day turns to night...the flowers close up and the animals go to sleep. Then a second dawn or renewal of light takes place.

In Shamanic Astrology we look at Eclipses as not only Harbingers of Change but also as a Super New Moon supercharging what is being seeded as the dark Moon temporarily diminishes the light of the Sun. The alignment of the Sun and Moon creates a pathway or portal intended to assist us in integrating the shadow elements that have been holding us back. July 22, Wednesday. Magdalene Feast Day. A 15th century author Jacobus writes that Mary http://northernway.org/school/omm/images/MMchalicePriestlyblessingDove.jpg Magdalene is a name that means “light giver” or “magnificent light giver” as researched by William Henry who wrote The Peacemaker and the New Key of Life among many other books. Jacobus goes onto say that Mary Magdalene’s name tells us she was illumined with perfect knowledge in her mind and with the light of glory in her body. Therefore, she was a peacemaker in the original meaning of the word “peace” or the uniting of Heaven and Earth, going beyond definitions that describe peace as the absence of conflict. A peacemaker then is someone who actively seeks to unite Heaven and Earth bringing the light of love into the physical world.

For some parts of the world this is the day of the Solar Eclipse with the annual entrance of the Sun into Leo (where it remains until Aug 23). The Sun’s passage through Leo reminds us of the power and glory of radical, radiant, self love that illuminates not only the person who lives it but all those around them. Accentuating this theme is the Moon conjunction with Mercury (9 Leo) as Mercury moves into the evening sky. The tiny crescent Moon may be visible low on the western horizon just after Sunset if you have a low enough horizon line.

Jupiter and Chiron (25 Aquarius) both in their retrograde phase make their second exact conjunction since May 23, 2009. There will be a third conjunction on Dec 7, 2009 at 22 Aquarius after both planets return to direct motion. When expansive Jupiter catches up to the Shamanic Healer Chiron, in the seasonal sign of Aquarius, revolutionary, innovative healing processes at the most basic cellular level within the DNA codes reach new octaves. Many people feel that the DNA is where the Akashic Record of our Soul is stored and that ALL our DNA is the record or library of all that has been, all that is and all that is yet to BE.

Jupiter and Chiron are continuing to work together to expand the healing or coming to wholeness on every level of our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual being. July 23, Thursday. Moon moves into Virgo transmitting the mysteries of the Priest and Priestess in service to the Earth as a sacred Living Temple. Until now the greater collective consciousness of humanity had seemingly forgotten our sacred duty to the Earth. However, in the last many years there has been a great awakening to these mysteries. This is reflected in the late Nicole Christine’s book The Temple of the Living Earth. In 1994, Nicole began facilitating priestess circles in Tucson, Arizona. The process spread across Arizona and then to Atlanta, Georgia. Since the late 90’s this process has spread across the United States and internationally and also now includes the sacred masculine Priest Process. I was fortunate to be in one of the early circles in 1995. There are many circles of men and women coming together through this process and various other similar kinds of circles around the planet revitalizing these mysteries in a remarkable way. Moon passes 3.1 degrees SSW of Regulus one of the four Royal stars of ancient times, Watcher of the West, and associated with Archangel Raphael. Regulus is also known as one of the four key stars in the heavens along with Aldebaran, Antares, and Spica as these four stars are located closest to the ecliptic (the path the planets travel). This means these stars can be occulted by the Moon and often are during certain periods of the 19 year lunar cycle. Regulus is NOT currently in a cycle of being occulted although it was last year.
Regulus entered the sign Leo in 156 BC, and is currently located at 29 degrees and 56 minutes of Leo. Coincidently, Regulus enters the sign of Virgo in the now infamous year of 2012. Over 26,000 years, every sign is with every star of every constellation due to the tilt and wobble of the Earth. It is this tilt and wobble that causes the precession of the equinoxes and solstices to shift through the constellations at the rate of one degree every 72 years. This means it takes about 26,000 years for any one point to return to its starting position. (See Difference Between Signs and Constellations.)

Regulus is the 22nd brightest star in our sky measuring about five times bigger and 160 times brighter than our Sun. Also our Sun is only 93,000,000 miles from Earth, while Regulus is 85 light years away. This means the light from the Sun reaches the earth in about 8.33 minutes, where as the light from Regulus takes about 85 years to reach the Earth. This means the light we see each night from Regulus was generated about 85 years ago. Locating the Moon and Regulus tonight is a great way to tune into the light codes being transmitted from this area of the sky.

July 25, Saturday. The Mayan Day out of Time. The Moon is visible 6 degrees SSW of Saturn (a.k.a Chronos or Father Time) as they zodiacally conjunct at (19 Virgo). Virgo is the archetypal energy that understands the patterns of time and the importance of Timing in this reality and Saturn is considered the ruler of Time. Saturn governs the Time to birth, to grow, to learn, to mature, to integrate and to die in preparation for a new birth. Virgo notices the patterns of Time as they relate to our middle world experience and finds ways to honor and respect the movements of Time through its intricate patterns. Without time we would not have a way to experience this reality and yet time is an illusion. Many indigenous cultures had ways of tracking the seasonal cycles of Time. The Mayans used their calendars within calendars to measure the seasons and astronomical events and other aspects of time that were important to them. They had the ability to look millions of years into the future and the past. For them Time had no beginning and no end and one of the ways they reminded themselves that Time is an illusion was to have a Day Out of Time once each year. July 26, Sunday. Today marks what would have been the Ancient Egyptian and Mayan New Year. The Moon moved into Libra late last night or early this morning depending on your time zone and Venus trines Jupiter. There are many symbols and stories connected to the ‘Pearl of Great Price’ reminding us that the wealth and riches of heaven (spirit) having far greater value than any worldly possessions a person might attain. Venus (the divine feminine) is connecting to the ‘string of pearls’ symbolizing the wisdom and perfection of the challenges – like the grain of sand that perfects the pearl.

Venus (25 Gemini) trines Neptune (25 Aquarius) reminding us of our connection to the field of all possibilities and the power of our imagination to create the New Earth through what we passionately imagine. Also tonight it is worth noticing the waxing Moon about 3.2 degrees SSW of Spica (22 Libra) in the evening sky.. The Moon will pass by Spica and zodiacally align with Arcturus sometime tomorrow. Spica is the fixed star located in the hand of the Virgin Priestess and has associations with the idea that we reap what we sew. Arcturus and Spica are both zodiacally linked at 22 Libra. Arcturus located in the constellation of Bootes, The Herdsman, is the fourth brightest star in our sky and has associations as the faithful guardian, protector, and companion of the Goddess.

July 28, Tuesday. Archangel Uriel's Feast Day. The First Quarter Moon (6 Scorpio) is conjunct the magical, mystical star of secret knowledge known as Khambalia calling us across the threshold of accelerated experience into the fullest possibilities of alive passion, magic and manifestation, while also increasing personal power. Venus (26 Gemini) squares Uranus (26 Pisces) indicating unusual revolutionary experiences originating in the Celestial World that operates beyond logic and reason in the mysterious realm of Grace. This means it is possible to have an out-of-the-ordinary kind of moment, often catalyzed by radical compassion and forgiveness, forever changing your life. July 29, Wednesday. Venus (27 Gemini) is zodiacally aligned with the fixed star Polaris (28 Gemini) exact tomorrow. Polaris is located in the constellation of Ursa Minor a.k.a. the Little Dipper. Polaris currently marks the North Star or the only star in our night sky that does not move but remains fixed while all the other stars turn around it. As the current primary navigational star in the Northern Hemisphere, Polaris has the ability to help guide us when we take time to tune into its energies.

To locate Polaris step outside and look toward the North. When you find the Big Dipper follow a direct line from the two stars marking the upper and lower edges or rim of the pan until you come to the star marking the end of the handle of the little dipper.

Over 26,000 years, due to the tilt and wobble of the Earth, different stars mark North. For example, 13,000 years ago and 13,000 years from now Vega, in the constellation of Lyra, was and will be the North Star. The Fixed Star site tells us this about Polaris:

The name Polaris comes to us from the Latin, Stella Polaris, meaning "Pole Star"…. To our eyes Polaris appears to be motionless at the center of the field of circumpolar stars, a "still point in the turning world". All the other stars appear to circle around Polaris. But as early as 320 BCE the Greeks realized that Polaris did not mark the pole exactly. Until then many people had believed that the heavenly Pole was absolutely and eternally fixed. Polaris has long been moving nearer the North Celestial Pole as it is still doing now. It will be closest to that position around 2100 AD. Because the earth wobbles on its axis like a slowly spinning top, the Pole Star once was Thuban, the third star from the end of the tail of Draco. And in a little more that 5000 years from now, Alderamin, the brightest star in the constellation Cepheus, the King, will be the Pole Star.

July 30, Thursday. Moon moves into Sagittarius illuminating the quest for truth and meaning while Mercury (24 Leo) is opposite retrograde Jupiter (24 Aquarius). Jupiter is in the process of retracing the same stars it just recently crossed bringing Jupiter back to zodiacal alignment with the fixed star Deneb Algeidi marking the tale in the constellation of theDeneb Algedi

Goatfish (a.k.a. Capricorn, remember the constellations and the signs are not the same thing.) The Goat Fish or Sea Goat is a magical mystical imagery linked with Ea the chief god of the Mesopotamian city of Eridu*. Ea was god of the waters, with great oracular powers and was consulted by the gods as Lord of the Sacred Eye. Ea was often depicted as a Goat with a fish tail. The tail of the fish symbolizes balanced movement, the ability to be in the flow or current of life and the goat symbolizes an ability to survive and thrive in difficult climates. With the oracular help of Deneb Algeidi and the transformational messenger Mercury, Jupiter is getting insights and information that support the movement of change in a natural evolutionary flow. Note the imagery of the sacred eye (third eye) linked with Deneb Algeidi reminds us of the importance of this symbol with various possible meanings, such as wisdom, knowledge, protection, enlightenment, omniscience and intuitive vision. July 31, Friday. Messenger Mercury (25 Leo) is opposite Visionary Neptune (25 Aquarius) emphasizing the mystical messages of self- love as the basis of genuine universal love. Mercury in Leo gets a boost in learning the language of self-love from the universal loving energy of Neptune. “Love Language” is a healthy alternative to the “Logical Language” of the recent patriarchal culture. “Logical Language,” as described by Osho in The Book of Secrets, operates aggressively, trying to convince and convert others to a particular way of thinking or set of beliefs that has been based in the premise “I am ‘right’ and ‘you are wrong’ if you do not believe as I do.

The language of self-love is accepting of self and does not subscribe to rigid belief systems that suggest a person is not good enough if they do not live up to certain cultural expectations. When we truly love ourselves, our self-talk is loving, compassionate, and supportive. Indeed, the best place to practice speaking from the “Language of Love” is in how we speak to ourselves. This is a good time to notice the qualities you love about yourself and acknowledge them.

Venus’ move into Cancer (passing by the Galactic Cross near the Galactic Edge) further energizing the creation of a safe nurturing space to value and appreciate who you are so that you can then create a safe nurturing space for others to also feel their value and worth. Venus travels through the Cancer domain until August 25.

And adding to all these other energies the Moon is occulting Antares for the second time this month and maybe visible about .54 degrees NNE of Antares tonight depending on your time zone. This current series of Moon occultations over Antares gives us greater access to the Antarian stargate or golden gateway of ascension, because this magical star is the access key in this dimension. PS...As I am wrapping up the July Celestial Timings on June 29...my baby boy...who just graduated High School last month...wrote this poem not knowing anything about my focus on the mysteries of Time for this month's Timings. July 7, Tuesday. The exact Capricorn Full Moon (15 Capricorn) Lunar Penumbral Eclipse is in the early morning hours 5:21 am Eastern and 2:21 am Pacific.
July 8, Wednesday. Moon moves into Aquarius . Mercury is at perihelion or its closest approach to the Sun.
July 9, Thursday. The Sun (17 Cancer) sextiles Saturn (17 Virgo)
July 10, Friday. All three retrograde planets, Jupiter and Neptune (26 Aquarius) make their second conjunction with Chiron (25 Aquarius) less than a degree away and the Moon meets with all three. Then Moon moves into Pisces
July 11, Saturday. Mars moves into Gemini appearing just 4.6 degrees SSE of the Pleiades in the early morning sky.
July 12, Sunday. Venus passes Aldebaran and the Sun is in the Sacred Hoop.

July 22, Wednesday. Magdalene Feast Day. Sun Moves into Leo and Moon conjuncts Mercury as the Mercury moves into the evening sky. The tiny crescent Moon may visible low on the western horizon just after Sunset.
